Cricut Project: DIY Vinyl Decals for Fridge Bottles

Time swiftly passed by and today is our first year anniversary since Community Quarantine has started. I can still count on my fingers how many times I went out of the house and so far I’m not yet crazy, thanks to Netflix, Shopee, Lazada, and crafting

Since the start of the year, I’ve been doing a lot of projects, I already shared some of my home pandemic projects like making photobooks, photo tiles, and canvas air, organizing my printed photos, and getting rid of my paper clutter

Now let me share my DIY vinyl decals for our fridge bottles. For the past few years, I’ve been replacing our water plastic bottles with a glass; we are using IKEA Vardagen Carafe Glass Water Bottle and I planned to buy IKEA Korken Glass Bottle to replace our small plastic bottles. Unfortunately, IKEA Philippines is not yet open and there is a travel ban so we can’t visit IKEA.

I can’t remember where I bought these small plastic bottles, kung sa baking supply store ba or sa party supply store. All I can remember is, I bought these bottles per pack, 6 pieces in one box, more or less PHP200 per pack. We’ve been using these bottles as water bottles and to store our leftover drinks.

Water bottles para kung ayaw mo maghugas ng baso at magrefill ng pitcher, you will get the small bottle. If I prepare juice in advance, I will put them in these bottles, one bottle per person. What nice about this, you can bring it in your work station or study table na hindi ka natatakot na baka masangga at matapon kasi may cover siya. Iwas sa alikabok din because you can cover the bottle after you drink. Sometimes we bring them when we have road trip din, we just put them in a cooler.

As I’ve said before, I also used this to store our leftover drinks para hindi masikip sa fridge. For example, if we open juice, milk, chocolate drinks, or softdrinks, instead of putting the tetra pack or big bottle. we transfer it to small bottles to save space. If ever we have leftover coffee or tea na ayaw na namin inumin, we transfer it to a small bottle before putting it inside the fridge.

I still have 3 plastic bottles left that I haven’t used but I decided not to use them anymore and buy glass bottles instead. Luckily, I discovered these square juice glass bottles when I bought my herbs and spices jars. I was nervous because I will order it online, yung IKEA bottles nga sa hand-carry luggage namin nilagay para iwas basag. But I was glad that all the jars and bottles that I’ve ordered arrived in good condition.

I already have a Cricut Maker so I made my own vinyl decals, I used frosted white glitter, matte, and glossy black vinyl stickers. I have a lot of fonts but I always end up with Butter and Garlic Font, favorite ko na siya. Hehehe! This was my project last January, hindi ko lang mashare kasi hindi ko naman nakukumpleto yung 12 bottles na may laman, most of the time 5-6 bottles lang nasa fridge namin but for this blog post sake, nilagyan ko lahat sila ng laman. hehehe!

Note: You can also use these bottles to store your herbs, spices, and condiments.

P.S. I have Blue Mason Jars din but it is too bulky so I'm happy that I found these glass bottles.

How to Get Rid of Your Paper Clutter

Do you like keeping receipts, bank statements, bills, invitations, gift tags, and other paper stuff? Maybe your wallet is so thick because of receipts. Maybe your fridge or desk is full of bills to pay. Or maybe you don’t realize that your storages are full of paper clutter. Well, you are not alone because I tend to commit this mistake.

Paper stuff tends to accumulate if we do not do something about it so it is very important to let go of the things that won’t serve us anymore. Sharing some tips on how to get rid of your paper clutter.

1. Go Paperless

We live in a digital age so the paper bill is already a thing in the past. It’s been several years already since I slowly shifted to paperless billing, it started in the year 2013 when I received our internet bill with PHP25 additional charge. Yes, we need to pay PHP25 for our Globe internet paper bill so we immediately signed up for electronic billing. Since then we started enrolling other bills too if there is an option, as of this writing we only receive water and electric paper bill.

I don’t know why Meralco is still sending us paper bills when I already enrolled in paperless billing. With regard to our water bill, after few months of community quarantine, we started receiving text messages and we have an option to view our bill online but they still send a paper bill. For the bank statement, I unsubscribed so I no longer received my quarterly Statement of Account.

2. Reuse, Recycle or Repurpose your Paper

My husband has a lot of paper works so I always reuse, recycle or repurpose those papers. I used those papers to print my son’s worksheets or mock reviewers. And because of community quarantine, online distance learning na so my son use those papers to print his lessons. He rarely uses his notebooks and he just prints the slides because, during exam days, he won’t be able to access the online lessons. I don’t buy notepad because I take home the complimentary notepad at the hotel or resort where we stayed. I also make my own scratchpad or notebooks.

3. Purge your Bills, Bank Statement, Expired Warranty Card or Any Personal Documents

I’m guilty of this because I always keep receipts, bank statements, and bills because I feel that they are important proof that I’m paid. And in case that I need to complain about my credit card bill, I have my credit card slip. I’m supposed to throw receipts monthly but I always end up throwing them quarterly or at the end of the year.

I have no problem with receipts because I really throw this away. This year, I finally let go of my old bills, receipts (for warranty), bank statement, expired warranty card, and other personal stuff that I was keeping for a very long time because in my mind “I can’t throw them”. They have their own storage so it did not bother me at all, hindi naman makalat. Second, I feel lazy throwing those personal documents because I don’t just throw them away, I use a pentel pen to erase personal information or I cut those papers. Iisipin ko pa lang nakakapagod na. Lol

Solution? I finally bought a paper shredder, I’ve been meaning to have this at home but it is too expensive but I found a cheaper version, a manual shredder. You can buy this at Shopee or Lazada but I personally bought my A4 Manual Shredder here. My son helped me with shredding but it took us several hours and we had a garbage bag full of paper trimmings. I did not throw it because my husband used it for our mini garden.

Note: There are some documents that we need to keep forever, some documents that we need to keep for several years, and some documents that we need to shred or toss.

4. Let Go Your Newspapers or Magazines

Newspapers are not my problem because I don’t buy this but I have a few collections of magazines like Yummy, Good Housekeeping, Cosmopolitan, Ok! and travel magazines. But I finally let go of them except for my travel magazines because I no longer read them and I'm pretty sure, they are already available online.

5. Donate your Books

When my son was in his toddler years, I always buy books to keep him busy. Suki ako ng Booksale and  nagpamember pa ko sa isang company so I can buy books at a discounted price. But when my son hit grade school years, I gave away his books and even his preschool books.

But I'm not sure if they are using the books so two years ago, I went to SM department store to donate my son's book in exchange for shopping coupons. I planned to donate my son's book last year but COVID19 happened.

How about you? Do you have a pile of papers?

How to Cook Chorizo de Bilbao and Chorizo Macao

Do you know that Chorizo de Macao, Chinese Chorizo, Longaniza Macau are not from Macau or China, this is our very own dry pork sausage. It is similar to longganisa but different texture, it is usually added to pansit or siopao. Personally, I don’t like chorizo, amoy pa lang niya ayaw ko na kaya inaalis ko ito kapag nakikita ko sa pansit.

Five years ago, I was able to taste Chorizo Macao of Dayrit’s Burger and Roast Beef House. The taste is okay compared sa mga nakain ko na Chorizo before but my husband and son like this chorizo so I always buy a pack of this whenever we had a chance. This is perfect for breakfast and baon of my son. It is easy to prepare and cook, I just sliced this and fry it for few minutes.

Then last year, when we visited Alba, we bought different packs of cold cuts for our charcuterie. I’m not really a fan of cold cuts since I don’t like eating raw foods and as I mentioned before, I don’t like chorizo. In my mind, the taste would be the same like the Chorizo Macao that I have tried. But I judge too soon, now, I finally understood that there are different kinds of Chorizo in the world. I may not like the taste of our chorizo but I like this Spanish Chorizo, it changed the way I see chorizo.

This Chorizo de Bilbao of Alba is made of pork, salt, pepper, garlic, paprika, and oregano. Just like other chorizos, it is so easy to cook. All you need to do is slice and fry in olive oil for 5-6 minutes. You can eat this as is like the "Chorizo Fritos" appetizer or with rice. You can also add this to your soups, pasta, paella, callos, pochero and cocido.

This homemade Spanish sausage is a little bit pricey, it is PHP1250 per kilo or PHP125 per 100 grams. So the price depends on the weight of the pack, for 4 pieces, usually PHP600+ ang price. Whenever I cooked this, hindi siya tumatagal kasi nga favorite namin mag-ina. If may leftover, I add this to chicken afritada or fried rice. Mas malasa yung rice because of the chorizo oil. But my husband prefers the Chorizo Macao, to each his own.

How to Cook Chorizo de Bilbao

1. Slice the Chorizo de Bilbao
2. In medium heat, add 1 to 2 tbsp of olive oil in a pan.
3. Stir fry the Chorizo de Bilbao in 5-6 minutes
4. Serve.

How to Cook Fried Rice with Egg and Chorizo de Bilbao

1. In medium heat, add the leftover Chorizo de Bilbao.
2. Put the chorizo at the side of the pan.
3. Place the egg (season with salt) and stir until cook.
4. Add the leftover rice, stir the egg, rice, and chorizo.
5. Season with garlic salt and parsley.
6. Serve.

How to Prepare Simple Salad at Home

It’s kinda weird that I’m blogging about “How to Prepare Simple Salad at Home” because I don’t eat salad and I’m a meat lover. But I realized that even I don’t eat a certain food, I can still prepare it just like this salad that I prepared last New Year’s Eve.

If you read my previous post, we went to Sonya’s Garden and before we went home, I bought a pack of salad and salad dressing. My husband did not eat it so I decided to include a salad for our potluck, the perfect pair for our cochinillo

One pack is only good for 1-2 persons so I added more lettuce, grapes, mango, and boiled egg. I just used whatever we have in the fridge but according to my research, aside from leafy base, you can also add fresh fruits or edible florets to add some color. You can put topping like whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans, legumes, tortillas, chips, cheese, meat, seafood, hard-boiled egg, and other foods that will add flavors. Lastly, add your favorite dressing, whether homemade or store-bought.

Since it was my first time and I’m in a hurry, I forgot to cut my leafy vegetables in bite-sized and I did not dry them. But overall, this salad was a hit, naubos siya. I’m thankful for the “Sonya’s Super Secret Salad Dressing”, I’m sure ito yung nagpasarap. Hehehe! I did not add the dressing, I served it separately since hindi ko naman matitikman.

Sonya’s Super Secret Salad Dressing Serving Suggestions

1. You can add chili, wasabi, truffle oil, or horseradish paste.
2. Use in lieu of mayonnaise on your sandwiches.
3. Slather on steamed fish or boiled chicken cubes
4. Use as dips for vegetable sticks
5. Add more olive oil to yield more servings

The dressing will last for 6 months without refrigeration but as of this writing, we no longer have this salad dressing, so naubos agad before best before the due date. Hehehe! If you want to try this salad and salad dressing but have no time to go to Alfonso, Cavite, you can order this online, check the links below.

Buffet Breakfast at Sonya’s Garden

We first visited Sonya’s Garden in the year 2013 and since then whenever we are in Tagaytay or Nasugbu, Batangas, we always drop by at Sonya’s Garden. Sonya’s Garden has Bed and Breakfast, Spa, Restaurant, Panaderia, Country Store, Apocatherapy and more so it is really worth visiting even it is located in Alfonso, Cavite.

We always visit this place so we can buy bread, dried fish, suman, vegetables, plants, and other stuff that we find interesting. Our personal favorite is their Hispanic Bread, PHP120 lang siya nung una namin natikman and fast forward to 2020, PHP200 na siya. I usually buy 2 or 3 packs of this bread, nilalagay ko sa freezer yung ibang packs and fridge sa kakainin na namin. I will just toast this bread in oven toaster and parang fresh bread na ulit.

We frequent this place but we haven’t stayed in their cottages or dined in their restaurant. It was only last year when we first experienced their buffet breakfast. It was a holiday so they only offer “All Day Breakfast” for PHP750. If weekdays, breakfast is served from 8AM to 10AM. We scanned the QR code and the staff ushered us to the Sunflower room. I was surprised because we are the only diners, yun pala they have a separate breakfast area for overnight guests. Yehey, solo namin ang restaurant.

Upon seated, the staff asked us for our drinks and advised us that they will serve the food in few minutes. Their buffet breakfast is different because they do not have a buffet table, all foods will be served on your table. The food choices are limited to garden salad, fried rice, chicken & pork adobo, mushroom & cheese omelet, daing na bangus with salsa mango, and garlic bread. If you don’t like omelets, you can request sunny side up and scrambled eggs. For drinks, you can order hot chocolate, coffee, or tea.

They first served the drinks and garden salad, knowing me I don’t eat salad so I only eat the fruits included in this salad but my husband loves it so inubos niya lahat ng salad namin. Hehehe! Sonya’s Garden is known for its salad with flowers, yes, the flowers or florets are edible too.

After few minutes, they served our breakfast and all of the foods are unlimited so you can request kapag naubos mo na. Actually, hirap nga kami ubusin yung nakaserve and ang additional order ko lang is one slice of daing na bangus. Sana lang may dessert sila kahit fruits para complete meal na talaga. Anyway, we were satisfied with our meals and I’m pretty sure we will go back, maybe lunch or dinner meals naman para maiba.

And because my husband liked the Garden Salad, I bought salad pack PHP200, Sonya's Super Secret Salad Dressing PHP350, and of course, Hispanic Bread before we went home. You can buy this product too online, but of course, expect that the price is more expensive. Pero pwede na rin kaysa dumayo ka pa sa Alfonso, Cavite. Check the links below.

Where to Store your Printed Photos

It is pretty obvious that I love taking pictures and it is the main reason why my blog name is Michi Photostory because I always believe that every picture tells a story. Growing up, we don’t have our own camera so I only have few pictures. Tapos nasunugan pa kami ng bahay so goodbye childhood memories. During High School days naman, I kept my printed photos on shoe boxes (walang pambili album?) and unfortunately, nagkadidikit-dikit mga photos; kaunti lang nasave ko na pictures. Huhuhu!

Moving forward, I started buying photo albums to store my college days' photos. Just this year, while I was decluttering, I noticed my damaged photo albums. I badly needed a replacement but I am not sure if buying a photo album is a good idea. Uso pa ba photo albums ngayon? So I immediately searched for the best photo storage or photo keeper, I saw this Clear and Multi-colored photo case on the Amazon site.

I haven’t tried buying from the Amazon site except for Kindle books so I was having second thoughts. One more thing, baka mas mahal pa shipping sa bibilhin ko so I just searched for a local supplier and I was glad I found few stores in the Philippines. I started comparing prices and reading reviews.

You can choose small or big and clear or multi-colored. I first bought a smaller version of the photo storage because I thought it would be enough for my college photos but I was wrong, 5 cases are not enough so I immediately order the big photo storage. I like this better because it has a handle so in case of emergency, ang bilis bitbitin.

I chose this photo box storage because it is acid-free so it won’t damage the photo paper. I‘ve said before na nasira yung sa akin nung nilagay ko sa shoe boxes. One container has 16 small cases inside that can fit more or less 100 4R or 4x6 inches photos. It depends on the thickness of the photo paper, pansin ko kapag 3R photos lang mas marami nailalagay. I put some silica gel too just to make sure na free from moisture.

It took me few days to transfer all my photos because I enjoyed looking at and reminiscing the old days. When the memories hit you. :) I also noticed that some of my photos are faded and some are yellowish so proof na mas maganda talaga print sa Kodak kaysa sa iba. Hehehe! After transferring my photos, I found out that I have 1500+ photos so 15 cases ang nagamit ko. Hiyang-hiya naman ako sa pictures ni hubby, 1 case lang. Hehehe!

My small photo storage is still waiting for me, I plan to use it for my random photos. Nung nauso na kasi digital camera, bihira na ko magpaprint and uso na ang Photobooks. Now, I need to put labels on each case but I’m still contemplating if I will use my Cricut Maker, Printer, or Brother Label Maker. I will update this post once I put the labels.

By the way, these cases are not only for photos, you can also use them to store your craft materials, stickers, chargers, cables, or any stuff that you want to organize.

15th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

It’s been more than a year already since the last time that we had a staycation, weekend getaway, or travel trip. This community quarantine is a battle between keeping safe and keeping sane. Staying in the four corner of house for a very long time is not really healthy so we’ve been meaning to go out.

I’ve mentioned before that my husband was planning for our Anniversary Getaway, he kept on checking different resorts that will allow kids. Then he found a resort in Calatagan, Batangas that accepts kids provided that we have a travel medical certificate issued by a government physician stating that we are not showing any symptoms and are not on the list of the probable suspect and confirmed COVID19 cases + Resident’s ID. My husband research how to avail this, he went to Barangay to get and pay for our RESIDENT CERTIFICATE. He mentioned that we need it to secure a travel medical certificate because it is a requirement sa resort.

Then he kept on checking the resort if there is an available room and out of excitement he immediately booked a room nung nakita niya na may available na. He paid a 10% downpayment to secure the slot. Then two days before our trip, we went to the health center to get a travel medical certificate, only to find out that they are not giving any travel medical certificates for leisure. I don’t know when they changes this policy kasi ang dami ko na nakita na nakapagbeach and may mga nabigyan dati. I understand naman kung ayaw nila magbigay but I hope sinabi na ito nung kumuha pa lang kami ng Resident Certificate so we were able to plan.

We’re so disappointed because we’re really looking forward to our beach getaway. Though we have another option which is the swab test but the problem is, the resort does not have its own swab testing, unlike sa resort sa San Juan, Batangas. We have to research pa kung saan kami pwede magpaswab test. And because of this, my husband immediately called the resort to cancel our reservation, kasi kung late na namin icancel, we need to pay full reservation kahit hindi kami makakapunta.

This happened on the day of our wedding anniversary, nakakastress and nakakalungkot. Well, I have to accept the fact na lang na matatagalan pa bago nakatravel. I’m thankful na 10% percent lang yung non-refundable downpayment, unlike sa iba na 50% or Full Payment na ang bayad. And because of this nag-stress eating na lang kami. We went to Chef RV Manabat Cafe to order hot meals, cakes, and bread for our anniversary celebration.

Exploring Castilian Cuisine at Alba Restaurante Español

It’s been several years already since I discovered Alba Restaurante Español in Deal Grocer. I always see their Spanish Buffet Lunch and Dinner promo but I was hesitant to purchase a voucher because I’m not sure kung sulit ba sa kakainin ko. Their buffet spread has only few choices and I’m not fond of paella, callos, or tapas.

But after trying their food last December, I blamed myself for not buying the voucher. Sinayang ko yung chance, ngayon pa na may community quarantine and I’m not sure kung kailan maibabalik ang buffet nila. Huhuhu Just this month, we visited their restaurant during weekends and no buffet offering.

Would you believe that Alba Restaurante Español has been around since 1952? Wow, almost seven decades na but they only have few branches, you can find their restaurant in Bel-Air Makati, Tomas Morato, Estancia Mall, Prism Plaza, and Westgate Center. This restaurant was founded by Señor Anastacio de Alba who came from Avila, Spain.

New Year’s Eve Celebration

Last December, we were planning for our New Year’s potluck and I told my husband na bumili na lang kami. Ayaw ko na magluto, napagod na ko nung Christmas. Hehehe! He wanted lechon and I suggested Alba’s Cochinillo so he called the restaurant but at that time, they are not accepting orders pa. They are not sure and will inform us if they will accept orders. Fortunately, they called and we paid for our reservation. My husband picked up the cochinillo at the restaurant, we did not ask kung may delivery.

It was our first time buying cochinillo so maliit pala talaga siya. I remember, marami naawa when I posted this on my social media. Life is short for the suckling pig because it is being roasted between the ages of two and six weeks. After I’ve learned this, napaisip ako, next time I will just buy per kilo ng lechon or lechon belly. But the taste of cochinillo is really good, it is crispy, tender, and flavorful. One whole is PHP6000 and it is good for 12 people.

I went with my husband when we paid for the reservation and while at the restaurant, I saw the different cold cuts and cheese. Wow, this is perfect for our New Year’s Eve because I don’t want to cook, so I bought a few packs for our DIY Charcuterie. I purchased Salchichon, Pamplona, Jamon Serrano, Tocino, Chorizo de Bilbao and Los Molinos Tempranillo (Wine). My charcuterie was a hit so now we know where to buy our cold cuts.

Chorizo de Bilbao PHP125 per 100 grams
Pamplona P160 per 100 grams
Salchichon P160 per 100 grams
Butifarra PHP110 per 100 grams
Jamon Serrano PHP330 per 100 grams
Tocino PHP130 per 100 grams

My son and I like the Chorizo de Bilbao, I sliced and sauteed this in olive oil. Sometimes, I add this to Chicken Afritada. We liked the Salchichon and Pamplona too, meron na kami instant yummy sandwich, I just need bread, meat, and mozzarella cheese then toast it in the oven toaster. The Jamon Serrano and Tocino are too salty for our taste but we still eat this kasi sayang but I have no plans to repurchase. During our last visit to Alba, I bought a few packs of cold cuts, and this time I added Butifarra, I will just update this post once we tried it.

Valentine’s Date at Alba 2022

We’ve been planning for our wedding anniversary getaway or food trip but I guess it is still impossible for now. The day before Valentine’s day we went to Landers for grocery, this was the third time that I went to the grocery since the community quarantine started. Then after our grocery, my husband and I went to Alba for lunch, instant date na rin for our anniversary.

We don’t have any reservations but we’re glad that they were able to accommodate us. We’ve seen other tables with “Reserved” signs so mukhang marami na kumakain sa labas. You need to scan the QR code and answer the health declaration form, I was having a hard time doing this because the form is not appearing on my phone after I scanned it. Good thing that my husband has two phones so I used his other phone para makapagscan ako ng QR code.

Upon seated, they gave us the menu, it was so thick that we just scanned it and order the house specialty Paella Valenciana PHP580 and Lengua Sevillana PHP500, the meal is good for 2-3 persons and the cooking time is 30 minutes. While waiting, they served complimentary bread. I really appreciate this kind of gesture because we have something to eat while waiting for our meal.

They served our meal on time and we were so delighted with our order like I’ve said before I’m not fond of paella but after tasting the Paella Valenciana of Alba, nagbago na pananaw ko sa buhay. Hehehe! I like their paella, it is already a complete meal. I’m planning to buy this again kapag may occasions. I love Lengua and their lengua sevillana did not disappoint me, in fact, favorite ko na agad.

We tried to finish our food pero hindi kaya so may take-out pa kami sa anak ko. Nagustuhan din niya yung paella and lengua, sorry na lang siya hindi niya natikman yung Tarta de Queso PHP160. Parang nagsisi pa kami na isa lang order namin dessert, bitin sa amin ni hubby kasi nagshare lang kami. Hehehe I’m not sure if they are selling whole cake, I’ll check na lang when we dine in again.

Lengua Sevillana - Stewed ox-tongue with mushroom & olives in rich sherry brown sauce
Paella Valenciana - Valenciana rice dish with chicken, pork, seafood & vegetables
Tarta de Queso Alba’s- classic cheesecake

Sunday Lunch at Alba 2022

Ever since I discovered Alba, it became my go-to restaurant if ever we are in the Alabang area because I like the food and service. So last December, after our grocery trip, off we went to Alba, and luckily, there is still an available table for us kasi nakareserved na talaga yung mga tables. It was our first time upstairs and medyo masikip pero okay siya kung irereserve mo lahat ng tables for intimate gathering.

Without checking the menu, I already knew what to order kasi nga favorite namin yung Lengua Sevillana and I am a creature of habit kaya lagi same order ko. Hehehe! So for our family of three, we ordered Lengua Sevillana PHP650, Plain Rice PHP60, and Solomillo a la Pobre PHP700 + Service Charge.

Solomillo a la Pobre - Classic grilled beef tenderloin with olive oil garlic sauce.

The Lengua Sevillana is good for sharing but the Solomillo a la Pobre is good for one person lang pero hinati namin sa tatlo so we can all try the steak. hehehe! After trying this one, may bago na ko favorite. Hehehe! At least, nadagdagan na yung options ko. We’re supposed to order Tarta de Queso Alba’s para matikman ng anak ko kaso busog na kami.

Great Earth Frozen Strawberries

Growing up, I like strawberry jam but I dislike eating fresh strawberries, in my mind “ang mahal-mahal pero ang asim naman” hehehe! Buying fresh strawberries is a hit and miss, sometimes it is sweet and most of the time, it is bland or sour. So I rarely buy this in the grocery or market so when I saw this Great Earth Frozen Strawberry at Landers, napabili na ko.

One pack is 2lbs for PHP184.75, it is perfect for juicing, syrup processing, and cereal mix. I bought this last December but it was only last week when we tried it. This is the last Great Earth product na nabili ko, you can check my review of Great Earth California Blend and Great Earth Potato Wedges. The pack has instructions too but I did not follow them.

Great Earth Frozen Strawberry Preparations

1. In a blender, combine soy milk, oats, banana, and strawberries
2. Add vanilla and sugar if desired.
3. Blend until smooth
4. Pour into glasses and serve.

The truth is, I have a can of evaporation milk that is nearly expiring so we use it. We just put the frozen strawberry, milk, sugar in the blender. The strawberry shake was too thick so we add some ice cubes and blend them again. My husband and I like the strawberry smoothie that we made. My son did not taste it because he is not fond of strawberries.

Freezing strawberry is a great way to store your berries especially if you purchased a lot. This is what we do if we have fresh strawberries at home (minsan lang naman). Most of the time, kapag nagpunta lang kami ng Baguio, napapabili kami ng strawberry. One of my bucket list nga is picking strawberries at Strawberry Farm kaso hindi naman harvest season tuwing visit namin.

Every time we visit Norway, my mom usually buys fresh strawberries so she freeze some strawberries and we will make Strawberry-Banana Smoothie. One of my favorite snacks in Norway is fresh strawberries + sugar + Tine Kremfløte, I really love this cream kung pwede nga lang mag-uwi sa Pilipinas.

How to Apply for Multiple Entry Japan Tourist Visa

This blog post is sitting in my draft for more than a year already. I was so excited to share this last year because we got a Multiple Entry Japan Tourist Visa but my excitement was gone when COVID19 news broke. We’ve been planning to go back to Japan so we can experience Spring, Fall, or Winter season there.

In fact, as early as January, I was searching for accommodation and planning for our Osaka-Kyoto-Nara-Kobe trip. We were planning to visit a travel expo so we can score a cheap flight to Japan but all plans were canceled and until now, traveling is still unachievable. I don’t know when everything would be back to normal. I don’t know if we can still use this Japan Tourist Visa because, since last year, tourist visas are suspended.

Whether we can use this or not, I will just post this to remind me na minsan sa aking buhay nagkaroon ako ng Multiple-Entry Visa. Hehehe! Last October 2019, we visited World Travel Expo and we availed the Japan Visa Processing promo for PHP600 from PHP1,200. It was a good deal already compared to our first Japan Tourist Visa application.

Japan Visa is free but you cannot apply directly to Japan Embassy, so you need to look for a travel agency to process your visa application. The processing fee depends on the agency that you will choose. You can check the list of authorized travel agencies here. For our first application, sinabay kami ni hubby sa pag-apply niya ng Japan Business Visa through their company accredited travel agency. Unfortunately, their agency is not part of the authorized agency of the Japan Embassy so nadoble tuloy bayad namin because we paid 2 travel agencies, more story on this blog

Anyway, we realized that it is so easy to apply for Japan Visa as long as you have complete requirements but of course, the visa is still subject to their approval. Here is the list of visa requirements for a Japan Tourist Visa from H.I.S. Travel Agency. They sent the list of requirements and forms that we need (via email). We just printed and filled out the forms.

B.They asked my husband to sign the Letter of Guarantee for me and my son.

“I will guarantee the following items regarding the above-mentioned applicant’s entry into Japan:

1. Expenses for the applicant’s stay in Japan
2. Return travel expenses
3. Compliance with Japanese laws and regulations”

C. This was our second Japan Tourist Visa application but they still require us to submit the original PSA birth certificate and marriage certificate. Ganun daw talaga if you are applying as a family.

D. They require us to submit the passport where our Japan Visas were issued. So we submitted our old and new passports.

E. This time, we submit a letter of request for a Multiple Entry Visa, this was part of the forms that were sent to us so print lang din namin. We did not do this during our first application, hindi rin kami aware na pwede pala magrequest.
