When my son made it to the overall top last year, I told him that maintaining to be on top is not easy but my son proved to us that he can do it. Actually, my son told me na 5th honor dapat siya but extracurricular is part of the final grade computation so he ended up with sixth honor. Regardless of the ranking, we are still proud of him because he worked hard for it. 

This year, my son received 3 medals; Sixth Honor, Gold Eagle Awardee, and Special Conduct Award for Male. I was not surprised with this award but happy kasi na notice na rin yung pagiging good student niya ng teachers. Introvert kasi anak ko so madalas hindi naman siya kilala ng mga teachers except for his subjects teachers. 

After the Recognition Day, we just went to the mall to eat lunch and buy cake. We ate at Ben’s Halo-Halo x Meshiya and ordered Classic Spaghetti PHP174, Shio Ramen PHP230, BBQ Ribs P280, California Maki PHP230, and Iced Tea PHP50 each. Cake is from Contis which is Banana Dream.

 

We are in a hurry kasi we need to go back to the wake. May mga ex-officemates nga si hubby na nakiramay kaso nasa Recognition Day pa kami. Yung Recognition celebration, sa wake na rin nangyari and we just ordered a Family Feast Bundle from Shakey’s. 

Of course, I made “Congrats Cards”, using one design but different cardstock. For the Congrats Cake Topper, I used Birthday Verygood Font which I also used in my graduation cake toppers. 

The day that we fear has come because a few weeks ago, my mother-in-law passed away. She was one of the strongest people I know and hindi ko nga alam kung saan siya humuhugot ng lakas. She raised 6 children, unfortunately, my two sisters-in-law passed away.

It was year 2010 when my eldest sister-in-law passed away because of colon cancer and in 2019, my sister-in-law lost her battle to uterine cancer. Then, in 2020, my mother-in-law was diagnosed with colon cancer. 

My late mother-in-law survived uterine cancer so we also hoped that she could fight the colon cancer. She underwent colon cancer surgery and finished all chemotherapy and the results were good so we thought, okay na. But in 2021, she went back to the hospital for a cholecystectomy. Oh no, another surgery again, and unfortunately, it is also the start of her dialysis. 

So since 2021, she spent most of her life going to the hospital for dialysis, check-ups, surgery, and confinement. I can’t imagine kung paano niya kinakaya ang lahat. Imagine nagkauterine cancer, may diabetes, nagkacolon cancer, nagkagallstones, nagkacataract and nagdadialysis pa. 

I witnessed how she tried to be tough and hold on even in pain. Maybe that is the reason why God took her home, she experienced so much pain in this world. We were sad because she was gone but we felt relieved because we knew that she was in a better place, no more crying, fear, or pain. She will be missed and Christmas gatherings will not be the same without her. 

I found this poem and I don’t know who is the original author but this is the exact words that I want to tell her because I am forever thankful to her for raising a loving son and blessed me with a wonderful husband. 

Just like last year, one design na lang for everybody. I used the graduating kids' SVG file from Bearly Art and Birthday Verygood Font. I used glitter, mirror foil and smooth cardstock. 

Last weekend was Mother’s Day and we don’t usually celebrate Mother’s Day kasi depende yan sa mood ko. Most of the time gusto ko lang magpahinga sa bahay. Inisiip ko nga kung nagcelebrate ba ko last year, parang wala naman ako pictures and yung last blog ko pa yung Mother’s Day Celebration in Norway. 

Anyway, my mom is here for a vacation, I suggested a family outing, an overnight or day trip just like our Day Trip in Laguna last March pero this time with my family naman. But the plan did not push through kasi hindi magkasundo sa schedule, may Saturday class yung iba and may hotel staycation. 

So my husband and I planned to go to Tagaytay na lang, this time with my mom and parents-in-law. We already informed both parties but unfortunately, it was cancelled because of my husband’s family emergency, hindi pwede parents niya and he needs to visit her mom. 

And dahil minsan lang naman ang Mother’s Day na nandito mama ko, kailangan may ganap. So lunch na lang ulit sa bahay but I already warned my family na Amber’s lang ang ipapakain ko. Hehehe! Nandito na kasi family ko nung first week of May kasi dumating nga mama ko. Amber’s pinakain ko sa kanila kasi yun ang madali para sa akin na iorder. Favorite ko iorder yung Party Favorites Bundle for potluck or panghanda.

Hindi ako nagbibiro nung sinabi ko na Amber’s ulit pero this time, I checked Amber’s Menu and after so many years, ngayon lang ako nag-order ng hindi bbq at chicken. We are just a group of 11 persons so I ordered the following. Supposed to be lunch kaso 1:30PM na yung earliest na schedule na pwede madeliver. Sa isip-isip ko, magdessert na lang if late dumating. We have ensaymada and leche flan naman.

But God is so good kasi sabay dumating yung visitors and food so walang waiting time. And we all liked the food so mukhang mababago na ang order ko sa Amber’s. hehehe! The only downside nitong meal na ito, hindi pwedeng Cash On Delivery, kailangan paid na yung orders. Tumawag si hubby kasi nag-error sa online, so need pa niya magwait para sa payment details. 

The Cupcake Birthday Card and Princess Birthday Side Edge Card are designed by Digital Gems. I liked this SVG file because you can easily change the colors of the cupcake and the princess. 

This card is so cute, I got this design from one of the crafting events that I joined. The card is designed by The Bearded Housewife. Just like the two cards, you can easily change the colors of the baby and its clothes.

Since Mother’s Day is fast approaching, I need to make a card. I only needed a few cards but I enjoyed cutting and coloring so I made seven cards for different occasions. 

I have so many violet cardstocks because when I started buying cardstocks, I usually ordered assorted packs and there was always color violet. It is my least favorite color kaya naipon na lang. So for this craft project, I used them para magamit naman. 

All cards are designed by Craft with Sarah. I uploaded all SVG files and cut them using my Cricut Maker. I like using my Ohuhu Markers and Glitter Markers because they change the look of the cards. 

I miss blogging and sa dami ng gusto kong iblog hindi ko alam kung ano uunahin. I checked my previous posts so I already shared Uratex and Mandaue Foam so this time Doyle and Furnham naman. 

I discovered this store last year and I learned that this company is a hotel supplier. Doyle and Furnham provide stuff like bed sheets, towels, pillows, and others to hotels, resorts, and hospitals. It was the year 2020 when the owner decided to extend their product to consumers so people like us could buy quality bed sheets, towels, bath mats, bath robes, and other stuff that we commonly use if we stay in a hotel. 

You can purchase their products on Doyle and Furnham's website, Shopee, Lazada, Foodpanda, Edamama, and their physical store which is located at Gate 3 Plaza, Taguig. 

I was happy when I learned about this store because whenever we stay in a 5-star hotel or resort, nacucurious talaga ko kung saan ba binibili yung mga bedsheets and pillows. So finally, may mabibilhan na rin.

Sleep is life so I really invest in bed, pillows, and good quality bed sheets. I tried different brands na rin kaso ang hirap maghanap ng white sheets na same sa hotel. Doyle and Furnham sheets are made of hypoallergenic material, high-grade Pakistani Cotton, 300 Thread Count (100% Cotton), and OEKO-TEX certified free of harsh chemicals.

For the past several months, I’ve been reading and hearing good reviews about their products pero hindi pa ko makabili because I know that we are buying a new bed. So after buying a bed from Uratex and a bed frame from Mandaue Foam, it is time to buy bed sheets and pillows.  

Since the price is not cheap, I wanted to visit their store so I could personally see and feel the products. I searched for the operating hours and nakita ko 9AM but we arrived around 10AM, parking is limited so ang tagal namin naghintay bago makapag-park. The store is still closed so I checked their Facebook page and I found out na 11AM pala ang store opening. Yung office pala nila ang 9AM. Toink! 

But the guard told us, try daw namin tawagan kasi kapag alam nila na may customer, binubuksan naman nila ng maaga. So my husband called a few times, nung una wala pa sumasagot, I think on our third try may sumagot na and yun nga nagpunta na sila sa store. It was around 10:30AM pa lang so we were happy na hindi na kami maghihintay pa ng 11AM. 

The store is just small, buti na lang kami lang ang nandoon so hindi masikip and naassist kami ng maayos. I already knew what I wanted so hindi naman mahirap mamili. I purchased the Starter Set + additional Pillow Cases, Duvet Comforter Set + additional Duvet Cover, Goose Down Pillow + Large Pillow Cases, and their new product which is the Summer Bliss Collection. 

The advantage of buying from the store is, makukuha mo agad yung products, also yung ibang wala sa website, pwede mo maorder basta meron materials. Like goose down pillow, nakabili ako sa store pero wala sa website. 

The only products that are available at the store are the Summer Bliss Collections and the rest, hinintay namin magawa and madeliver from their factory which is just a few minutes walk from their store, so mainit-init pa yung bedsheets nung nareceived namin. I love their packaging, hindi plastic so I can reuse it. 

The store also provides complimentary drinks while waiting, they offer coffee, tea or softdrinks. 

I already ordered when the staff informed me na meron sila freebie if we purchased PHP10K above and dahil marami daw ako binili and first buyer din ako sa Summer Bliss Collection, may free tumbler pa ako. I checked their website, ang mahal din pala nung Scented Candle and Room & Linen Spray na freebies sa amin. 

After buying, nagworry ako kasi nalimutan ko na 11 inches nga pala yung bed namin so bitin yung nabili ko sa Doyle and Furnham but I felt relieved nung nilagay ko na siya sa bed namin. Yes, bitin siya pero hindi naman halata and natatakpan din naman ng duvet. So far, hindi umaangat yung bed sheets kahit bitin. 

We have duvet and comforter na rin before pero bumili pa rin ako so I can compare and feeling nasa hotel nga yung duvet infill nila. Iba rin yung fabric and stitches. If I have the budget, I will replace my son’s duvet too. So far, I am satisfied with my purchase.
