Lunch at Siram Gyupsal Unlimited Korean BBQ House

Few years ago, there are only limited Korean restaurants and we even traveled to Silang Cavite just to eat Korean dishes. It was our first samgyeopsal experience and we really enjoyed it. And because of that, we keep on trying new Korean restaurant. So far, we tried Baek Yuen Korean Restaurant, All 4 U Unlimited Korean Restaurant, and Su Won Garden Korean Restaurant.

Last month, on our way to my in-laws I saw a tarpaulin of a Korean restaurant. Wow, may bago na naman kami kakainan na malapit. Siram Gyupsal started operating last September 8, 2018, in Paseo de San Antonio and last November, they opened a second branch in front of Tubigan. I just take note of that restaurant and finally before classes resume, we were able to try Siram Gyupsal restaurant in Seaoil, Tubigan.

It was Sunday so I was expecting that the place would be crowded but I was glad that only one table was occupied. Siram Gyupsal is not that big so mukhang masikip siya especially kung occupied lahat ng table. Upon seated, the staff asked “Sir, unlimited?” Nagulat naman ko kay kuya, kasi kakaupo pa lang namin at hindi pa nga namin nahahawakan ang menu. Akala ko naman, may a la carte sila, ang choice lang naman pala is Unlimited A or Unlimited B. Maybe the staff was asking kung unlimited A or B ba kami? We chose Unlimited B which is P449 per person.

Watch the video here

For P449, we have unlimited side dishes, rice, iced tea, and meat. We have 10 choices of meat,

Plain Pork
Salt & Pepper Pork (Dae-Pae Samgyupsal)
Sweet & Spicy Pork (Gochujang Samgyupsal)
Bulgogi Pork
Salt & Pepper Chicken
Sweet & Spicy Chicken (Gochujang Chicken)
Plain Beef
Salt & Pepper Beef
Sweet & Spicy Beef (Gochujang Beef)
Bulgogi Beef

After 5 minutes, the staff served the side dishes, sauces, lettuce, juice, and rice. They have 8 side dishes and 2 kinds of sauces. Then he started putting charcoal on our grilling pan. So first time namin, kasi sa ibang restaurant electric stove or LPG ang pang-grill nila. You can order a maximum of 2 kinds of meat so I ordered Salt and Pepper Pork and Salt and Pepper Beef.

Then the staff served soup, I was surprised because I did not see soup in their menu, I liked this Korean Style Egg Soup.

For our second meat, we chose Bulgogi Pork and Bulgogi Beef, nakadalawang order kami. So all in all, we just had 6 plates of meat. We did not order chicken since we’re not fond of grilled chicken naman pag buffet. They only use one kind of meat, nilalagyan lang nila ng salt & pepper and bulgogi sauce. I’m not sure kung ganun din sa sweet and spicy pork, chicken or beef. Hindi siya marinated.

The restaurant is small and looks clean but malagkit ang table. As in pag-upo namin, nalagkitan na kami sa table and even sa menu, parang ang daming oil. Hindi ako nakatiis at pinunasan ko ang table at menu namin, buti na lang I always have wipes and alcohol. My husband told me, baka hindi daw okay ang sabon na gamit nila so kahit nilinisan, malagkit pa rin.

For the service, I can say it is good naman. We don’t need to call their attention kasi sila mismo lumalapit at nagtatanung kung mag-order pa kami ng meat and they changed our grilling pan kahit hindi namin nirequest. What I also like here, I can order 1 kind of meat, unlike sa iba, minimum of two kinds per order. They have kids rate too, this is very important kasi mahina kumain anak ko, lugi ako lagi. But I hope next time, they will add dessert. There is no time limit but we are done after an hour of  feasting. Before we left, ang dami na nila customers.

5 Benefits of Travel Insurance You May Not Have Realized

Planning a major trip is no easy feat, whether you’re traveling with kids or heading out solo. I’m always nervous about making deposits on hotels and purchasing expensive flights. In the end, most people invest hundreds of dollars into their travels before they ever leave home. In many cases, these fees are non-refundable!

As a fellow traveler, the last thing I want is for surprises to interrupt your trip and forfeit your hard-earned money.

Having learned the hard way: travel insurance takes much of the risk out of trip planning and traveling.

Before your next trip, check out some best travel insurance resources to learn more and enjoy peace of mind on every adventure. The perks are many, but these specific five benefits are reason enough to consider including travel insurance on every trip as a permanent check-marked item.

#1 - Reimbursement for Cancelled Trips

Canceled trips are one of my biggest concerns – and for good reason. In many cases, you may not be able to recoup all of your initial investment if you have to cancel your travel plans. Under most circumstances, travel insurance will reimburse you for costs paid upfront that wouldn’t otherwise be refunded. Each insurance provider has a list of reasons that qualify for trip cancellation reimbursement, these typically include sickness, the death of a family member, jury duty, and changes in work schedule.

#2 - Lost or Delayed Luggage Replacement (Major Benefit When Traveling With Kids!)

Replacing your luggage can be a significant expense (even more so when you’re traveling with kids!). If your luggage is lost, stolen, or delayed, trip insurance can help you replace essential items so you can carry on with your travels.

Read: How to Deal with Delayed Luggage
How to Deal with Damaged Luggage

#3 - Financial Help with Medical Emergencies

If you’re traveling domestically, your health insurance covers medical emergencies. But this isn’t always the case when traveling abroad.

Travel insurance fills in the gaps left by your health insurance. This may include emergency dental care, other medical emergencies, and evacuation to your home country.

#4 - Medical Support in Remote Areas

Something as casual as a hike in the mountains can easily turn into a medical emergency, and finding good medical care in remote areas can be challenging. It can cost thousands of dollars to have you airlifted or transported to a medical facility. Even if your medical needs aren’t that extreme, just one incident could force you to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket. The best travel insurance practice is to opt for a plan that includes basic and worst-case-scenario coverage. This way, you have peace of mind in the event of an emergency.

#5 - Coverage for the Whole Family

When you’re traveling with others, your travel-related expenses are much greater than when you’re doing it solo. The more people you’re responsible for, the greater the cost of small interruptions like flight delays or illnesses. For example, if a child were to become too ill to fly, you’d have to alter flight arrangements for everyone in your group.

Travel insurance can cover everyone in your family or group. If an incident occurs, you won’t be stressed about paying for travel changes for every member of your party.

Final Thoughts

I’ll leave you with my last two cents: When you’re preparing for your next trip, make sure you include travel insurance in your plan. It’s something I never thought I’d use, but once I made my first purchase for it, I’ve used it ever since and have never regretted not making the investment to protect my life and belongings.

Travel insurance isn’t one-size-fits-all, so take time to explore the best travel insurance options to find a plan that fits your needs and budget.

Highlights of Year 2018

I was awake as early as 12AM last December 31 because we needed to catch our morning flight to Basco Batanes. While waiting at the boarding gate, I was reflecting on my year 2018 and I was not able to finish my notes so here I am, trying my best to finish my supposed to be year-end post.

If my year 2017 is like a rollercoaster ride, my year 2018 is a challenging year. If you’ve read my post last year, two weeks before Christmas we received a not-so-good news so we welcomed 2018 even though we didn’t know what would happen. We patiently waited for an answer and held on to His Promises.
“For I know the plans, I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29;11”
2018 is not a good year for our family, there are so many ups, downs, and even bumps. It was physically, emotionally, and financially draining. It was challenging because…

1. We don’t know if my husband will still have a job, his former company sold one of their business and unfortunately, that business is where my husband works. So there is no option to stay in the former company and there is no assurance that the new company will hire him. The waiting is so long and we have no other choice but to wait.

After five months of waiting, we’re grateful that my husband got an offer from the new company. Even though the salary and benefits are very different, he still accepted it. Mahirap walang source of income lalo na I’m not working. We’re thankful that he got an offer because yung iba, nawalan talaga ng work.

2. So when I thought that life was already okay and smooth, I did not imagine that our last quarter of the year would be so emotional. We’ve lost someone dear to us and two of my in-laws were diagnosed with cancer. We all know that dealing with cancer is not easy. Cancer affects everyone in the family because of family routine changes and lifestyle.
“When someone has cancer, the whole family and everyone who loves them does too” - Terri Clark
I realized na mamamatay ka talaga kung wala ka pera because even you go to PCSO, it takes time to get an Individual Medical Assitance. Two months of waiting and until now, we’re still waiting if we can get assistance.

My husband just bought his insurance for a critical illness, two months before we heard the news about cancer. I’m thinking if I will get insurance with critical illness too kasi kawawa si hubby if ever, kulang ang health card.

3. Aside from that, starting January our family was going to the hospital every month tapos naging every week na starting October for our health concerns too. Some are simple health concerns lang naman pero hindi mo pwede ipawalang bahala like caterpillar sting, ear infection, colds and cough and even upset stomach of my son. It is not a secret that I have psoriasis so I always have check-up and laboratory tests. Nakakapagod but health is wealth and prevention is better than cure.

But despite the challenges, I’m still grateful because God is faithful and God always provides. The year 2018, is the year when I got more blog opportunities and I even became part of Althea Angels. So even our problems and concerns are not yet over. I’m still looking forward to the year 2019.
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Phil 4;19”
So what happened in...

January

January, the start of the year. Even though we don’t know what will happen to my husband's job, we still make short-term goals. Life must go on! I looked for a resort for our anniversary and family outings. Mabilis mafully-booked ang resort so as early as January, I paid our reservation for our family outing with my mom. We also went to Tienda sa Solenad.

February

We had a simple home improvement, my husband wants my son to sleep in his own room na so we’ve started fixing his room. It was my son’s Field Trip and this time hindi na kami nagconvoy. It was our wedding anniversary too, so we had Staycation at Pico Sands Hotel and Sofitel Manila. We were able to watch 9th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition.

March

We attended my son’s Recognition Day in school and ate at All 4 U Unlimited Korean Restaurant. We treated our son to Kidzania for getting a Gold Eagle Certificate for the school year 2017-2018. We had a day trip at Acuaverde Beach Resort. We went to Caleruega last Holy Thursday. My mom went home for vacation so we spent the Holy Week long weekend in Valenzuela.

April

To enjoy the summer, we had a family outing at Laiya Coco Grove and family get-together. I got a DFA appointment for my husband so he can renew his passport because he doesn’t have enough passport pages. We booked tickets and planned for our Bangkok and Baguio Getaway. Our most memorable moment on this trip is we experienced Business Flight on our way to Bangkok, Thailand.

May

May is a busy month because I need to prepare for “Back to School”. I bought books, school supplies, and uniform. And because I was so preoccupied, I made a mistake in writing my check so I paid P1500 for that simple mistake. We celebrated Mother’s Day at Tong Yang Plus. And before summer vacation is over, we had a Day Trip at Woodside Farm and Waterpark with my in-laws.

June

Back to school. June is the month when my husband started with his new company and because of that, he has no vacation leave yet. So he was so busy that we were not able to celebrate his birthday. Kasi meron siya despedida from former company + orientation naman sa new company. Sobrang hectic so we had delayed celebration na lang and sabay na rin ng Father’s Day. We went back to Tong Yang Plus.

July

After two months of not flying, my husband is back with his business trip again so wala gaano ganap kasi nasa bahay lang kami mag-ina. I received good news that I’m part of Althea Angels. Yey! I’m hooked with Korean products so I’m really happy to be part of Althea Korea.

August

It was my birthday month and we celebrated it at Las Flores and Pantry of Dusit Thani Hotel. I got birthday shopping rewards from Althea Korea so I splurged on my birthday. We watched my son’s Cheers and Yells and they won. First championship since 1985 daw. Wow!

September

September was stressful because Furniture Source Philippines failed to deliver our order on the agreed date. It took them 24 days to fulfill our order. Kastress talaga! It was also my son’s first recollection in school.

We celebrated my son’s 10th birthday in advance so we spent the last weekend of September in Sofitel Manila again but this time we book the Sofitel Luxury Club room. My husband and I had a quick date in Tagaytay.

October

10th birthday of my son and 80th birthday of my grandmother-in-law so we went to Pangasinan to attend her birthday. This is also the start of our series of check-up, we visited different doctors such Pedia, Ophthapedia, and OB. We lost someone dear to us and this is also the month when we learned that my two in-laws were diagnosed with cancer.

November

Our family had a series of check-up and labtest with OB-Gyne, Pedia, Orthopedic and Dentist.

December

Our family had a series of check-up, labtest, and therapy with OB-Gyne, Nephro, Orhophedic, Ophtha, and Derma. I still need to see my Gastro doctor pero dahil holiday na, nagpahinga muna ko. Writing this year-end post, reminds me na hindi pa ko nakakabalik. Waah!

We had family get together, we went to Tagaytay and lastly, we ended the year 2018 in Batanes.

With all the health expenses that we’ve spent parang ayaw ko ng gumastos pa. But life is short. We deserve a break and we want to enjoy the holiday. I was thankful for God’s provisions and for making our Batanes trip possible. Expect for my Batanes series soon.

How to Get Free Montelukast Kastair EZtab Medicine

My son has been nursing colds since October, nakailang punta na kami ng pedia pero hindi nawawala. We gave him cold medicine, antibiotic and nasal spray pero ganun pa rin. So pabalik-balik kami sa pedia, then last November. The doctor said, my son has acute rhinitis so he prescribed Montelukast and Saline Nasa Spray.

My son needs to take this medicine for two months and we all know that Montelukast is not cheap. The doctor gave a brochure to my husband, para daw makatipid kami sa medicine. My husband fill-out the form and submitted it to the doctor. And because of the said promo, my husband only bought 30 tablets. After few days, he received a call regarding the free medicine. He also received a message.
“In CAN program, we are promoting the compliance of your child in taking his/her asthma medication. And as a member of this program we are offering you this promo: Buy 20 tabs + FREE 10 tabs. Simply send your purchase receipts (whole receipt from top to bottom) thru viber with this number or email at (insert email). And we will deliver your free medicine. It can be cumulative receipts but this offer is not applicable on top of other discounts. Thank you!”
Nov. 23 - he sent the receipts thru Viber.
Dec. 5 - this is the only time that they replied on our Viber message.
“Good day! This is to inform you that we have received your receipt, we will now process your free medicines. Thank you!”
One week had passed and we did not receive anything hanggang sa naubos na lang yung 30 tablets so we bought the remaining 30 tablets and kinalimutan na namin yung FREE medicines.

Dec. 28 - Xend messaged my husband asking for a landmark at may idedeliver daw sila.

My husband asked me kung ano inorder ko and I said, wala naman ko order and bakit sayo naman magmessage, dapat sa akin kung order ko. Then I told him, baka yan na yung FREE medicine. After few hours, Xend came and the package is under my son’s name. So I was correct, nadeliver na rin yung free medicine.

So we received 10 FREE Montelukast medicine and save P257.50. My son is still sneezing every morning and evening so I don’t know if we still need to continue this medicine, next week na mag-end yung 60 tablets niya. Let see, after our check-up again.

If you are taking this medicine, better ask your doctor for this promo or program so you can also get free medicines.

Update: February 7, 2019

We received another 10 FREE Montelukast medicine after we sent the receipt last month so more than a month talaga bago maprocessed and madeliver ang free medicine.

Glimpse of Club Bauhinia at HKIA

It’s been six years since our last visit to Hong Kong and I’m still hoping that we could revisit HK in the future. But for the past few years, my husband was able to go back to Hong Kong kahit hanggang airport lang. Most of the time, Hong Kong is his stopover if he has a business trip in China. So last month, he was back in HKIA for a short layover. On his way back to Manila, he was able to stay at Club Bauhinia lounge. It is one of the Hong Kong International Airport lounges.

According to my husband, the interior of the lounge is nice and well lit. It was 7PM but the lounge was not crowded. There were a lot of available chairs and tables. They offer computers that you can use, reading materials like magazine and newspaper, and wifi.

Of course, they serve free food and drinks. Though food is quite limited but they have made-to-order food which my husband failed to try.

There are sleeping pods which my husband took advantage before his midnight flight back to Manila. There are only sleeping pods so paunahan na lang.

Kate Spade New York Year End Sale at HKIA

If you remember my post last year, I bought my very first Kate Spade New York bag. I’m happy with my bag and I still have a few bags on my wish list. But since Kate Spade is not cheap, I’m just waiting for a Sale so I can buy a bag again. I was really looking for a bag, gift ko sa sarili ko this Christmas kaso wala ko makita.

When my husband went to Chengdu China last month, he had a few hours of layover at HKIA so I searched online if there is Kate Spade store in the airport. Fortunately, there is a store so I sent photos of the bags and wallets that I like and hoping that it is available.

Fast forward to my husband business trip, he checked Kate Spade New York at NAIA, there was no sale and I did not like the bag and price. Hehehe! When he reached HKIA, he sent me a photo that Kate Spade New York is on sale up to 50% off pa.

My husband did not have a hard time looking for the store because it is just near his boarding gate. Destiny! So my husband sent me photos of the bags that are on sale. According to the staff, kung ano lang daw yung nakadisplay, yun lang daw available. Everything must go before the year 2019, feng shui yata. I was having a hard time choosing but my husband told me, bilisan ko daw at baka minumura na siya dun. Hahaha! The staff was speaking in Chinese at hindi naman niya maintindihan. #paranoid

So I chose the Kate Spade New York Watson Lane Sam. I saw the tag “in celebration of our 25th birthday, we’ve reimagined the bag that started it all, named Sam, for today”. The story of Kate Spade begins with this boxy, black nylon handbag pala. This utilitarian and timeless bag was created in 1993 pala and now they are offering it again with additional colors. I like this bag because I can use this for casual and semi-formal attire.

It has a handle and adjustable shoulder bag strap
Open top satchel with zipper.
Interior zipper pocket
Dual interior slide pockets

My husband bought me a Kate Spade New York bag too. Yey! He gave me book last Christmas, akala ko yun na Christmas gift ko, may pahabol pa pala. For the second bag, I chose Kate Spade New York Watson Lane Quilted Maya. It is made from matte nylon with chic quilted detail. I like this bag because it is spacious so it can be my travel bag, para naman may kapalitan yung Longchamp Le Pliage ko.

A shoulder bag with zipper closure
Interior zip pocket

I was able to score these bags at 50% off and they even gave a FREE Kate Spade New York Passport Holder, so mukhang inuubos nga nila yung stock nila. The only thing that I don’t like is, there is no dust bag per bag, they just wrapped it in Japanese paper and put everything in one paper bag. Unlike nung sa Changi Airport, kahit 50% off, may dust bag pa rin na binigay.

Good thing that he already bought these bags because when my husband went back to HKIA after two days, wala na daw yung bag ko. Meron na lang yung backpack na natempt na rin ko bilhin pero practice self-control. Hintay na lang ulit ko ng sale.

Chengdu Marriott Hotel Financial Centre in China

I was planning for our December Getaway so I told my husband to file his Vacation Leave so I can book our flight. He was supposed to be on leave starting December 21 but unfortunately, he needs to go to Chengdu China after Christmas. Sad to say that Christmas is not a holiday in Mainland China so whether he likes it or not he needs to go.

This is just a one-day event but since there was no direct flight from Manila to Chengdu China, naging 4 days ang trip because of the flight schedule compared to his officemates na overnight trip lang. There is a direct flight from Singapore and South Korea. His flight was Manila to Hong Kong to Chengdu China and vice versa.

It’s been six years since his last visit in China so medyo nakakapanibago ulit. He had a hard time going to the hotel because the taxi driver did not know where is Chengdu Marriott Hotel Financial Centre so he needs to call the hotel and let the hotel staff talk to his taxi driver. The hotel is just 20 minutes drive to Shuangliu International Airport pero tumagal dahil hindi alam ng taxi driver.

For his 3 days business trip, he stayed at Chengdu Marriott Hotel Financial Centre, this is the fourth Marriott Hotel that he tried and as expected, the hotel room, food, and service is good, “typical Marriott”.

Art Craze Paint by Number Kit Experience

Last year, I was thinking of a gift that my son would appreciate. I always follow my gift-giving philosophy so it would be easy to choose.

Something they want
Something they need
Something to wear
Something to read

I gifted him a book last year but as usual, he didn’t appreciate it that much because he is not fond of reading books unless he is the one who chose that book. Hehehe! Then I remembered that he enjoys painting, I bought his first painting kit a few years ago and the rest is history.

Craft Easy Canvas Painting Kit
Painting by Numbers
Painting at Sip & Gogh
DIY Christmas Painting

I ordered Paint by Number Kit online, this is bigger compared to his previous painting kits so he has something to do during his Christmas break. As I mentioned in my Instagram post, my number one dilemma every school break is yung favorite line ng anak ko “Mommy, I’m bored”. He is not allowed to use his gadgets every weekdays kahit school break pa  so yan lagi niya sinasabi. And I always tell him, nung bata ko hindi naman uso gadget pero hindi ako nabobored. Hehehe!

Anyway, I wrapped my gift and put it under the Christmas tree. In my mind my son will like my gift but after few days, my husband told me “Ayaw daw ni Ethan nung malaki na canvas”. Waah! My husband was browsing his Facebook newsfeed and he saw my gift online and he asked my son kung gusto niya ng ganun? My son said yes, but ayaw daw niya ng malaki at mahirap.

So nagkaproblema ko bigla and naghanap na naman ng gift. I remembered Art Craze- Paint by Numbers, I already knew this store pero malayo yung store niya sa amin. I was browsing their Instagram feed and then I saw Pikachu. My son likes Pokemon so I’m pretty sure that he will like this so I asked for the price and shipping fee.

We only have few days before Christmas so I don’t want to order online at baka 2019 ko na mareceived yung package. But since it was Christmas Season, they had booth at World Bazaar Festival. My husband asked them if the canvas is available at the Bazaar and they said yes. So after my husband got his visa, we dropped by at World Trade Center. May entrance fee siya so ako na lang bumaba and I just looked for their booth.

Unfortunately, the canvas was not available there. I was a bit disappointed kasi nagmessaged pa kami and dinayo ko pa sa World Bazaar Festival yun tapos wala. Good thing, there is another Pikachu Canvas so I bought it. The canvas is really small, I’m aware of the 10x15cm size pero iba pa rin pag nakita mo in person. Kasing laki lang ng postcard but it has easel, palette, paint brush and 8 paint colors. It has a box too so mukha ng presentable for gifts. The box has instructions too.

Painting Preparation

- moisten brushes which will be used for painting
- prepare a glass with water
- prepare newspapers and place it on the desktop where you will be painting

Start Painting

Step 1: Open the box, bring our the canvas, paint brushes, tubes of paint with numbers and wooden frame.
Step 2: Match the color with the numbers on the canvas.
Step 3: Fill in the zone one by one, or according to the sequence of the colors from light to dark. If painting a face, it is better to start with the eyes first and then the other smaller parts of the painting before doing the rest.
Step 4: Check your work and see if you missed any spot. Continue on the next number until you finish with the last color available.

My son was happy when he opened his gift and he started painting it after Christmas. He was busy for two days. Even it was just a small canvas, ang tagal din niya natapos. Once dry kasi, inulit pa niya para mas okay yung colors. After he finished this, I asked him kung gusto pa niya and he said no. Hahaha! Napagod na siya so mukhang ako na lang magpaint nung una ko na nabili.

Holiday 2018

Happy New Year! It’s year 2019 and finally I’m back to blogging world. I’m pushing myself to blog today even I feel I’m still on a holiday break. Well, my two boys are now back to school and work so the house feels so empty and very quiet. I’m trying my best to gather my thoughts and memories so I can share what happened last month.

December 2018 was so hectic because we’re so busy with check-ups, laboratory tests and even therapy. It started since last week of October pa and sobrang nakakapagod magpabalik-balik sa clinic and hospital. Actually, we’re not done yet, may natira pa ko na labtest and check-up. But I told myself, next year na because I want to enjoy my Christmas break.

DepEd changed the schedule of Christmas Break but unfortunately, our school did no follow it so habang bakasyon na ang iba, kami busy pa sa school projects and exams. I was cramming because I haven’t finished my Christmas Gift list but I’m glad that I finished everything before Christmas. Unlike last 2017, I did not attend all the get-together and Christmas party that I was invited, I just chose the family get together.

December 20

It was the last day of my son’s exam so we picked him up in school and off we went to Makati to get my husband’s passport (China Visa), I bought some gifts in the mall and I dropped by at World Bazaar Festival just to buy my gift for my son. No time na kasi kung ipaship ko pa so pinuntahan ko na lang yung booth nila sa World Trade. Then we went straight to birthday party.

December 21

Finally, it was my son’s Christmas party and we picked him up again and off went to Alabang Town Center. My husband bought gift for my son and doon lang namin kasi nakita na meron. Pinag-isipan pa kasi niya kung bibilhin ba niya or hindi. Hehehe!

December 22

General cleaning of the house and I prepared for our Christmas Get Together program. Cramming na naman, it was supposed to be December 29, year-end party but my husband needs to go to China after Christmas so I requested to change the date so I can attend the party, kami naman kasi yung host this year. Hehehe!

December 23

It’s our family Christmas Get Together, rain or shine off we went to Valenzuela. Since I have no time to cook, nag-order na lang ko ng potluck sa highschool classmate ko. So after two decades nagkita kami, now I know kung saan na ko oorder ng potuck ko if ever may event sa Valenzuela. The party went well kahit umulan ng buong araw. I won three prizes sa Bingo game. Yey!

December 24

It’s our Christmas traditional lunch with my husband’s family. Again, I have no time to prepare so I ordered food na lang sa aming neighbor. I ordered lasagna, stir-fry beef with veggies and kare-kare. I just cooked buttered French beans and mushrooms, lumpiang shanghai, cheese sticks and toasted French bread.

December 25

Our annual family tradition is attending church in Tagaytay and eat breakfast after. This time we had breakfast at Cafe Voi La. Then we dropped by at Acienda Designer Outlet, unfortunately sarado pa siya. Late pala yung mall hours nila and I don’t want to wait ng matagal so we just went home.

December 26 - 28

Nagpaalam na si hubby na nakaVL na siya starting December 21 but unfortunately, he needs to go to Chengdu China. Huhuhu! So my son and I stayed in the house, hindi na makagala. The only thing that I liked in his business trip was, “Kate Spade Clearance Sale” in HKIA. Since there was no direct flight from Manila to Chengdu, he had a few hours layover in Hong Kong and destiny lang kasi yung boarding gate niya, nandun yung Kate Spade. Yey, I was able to buy new bag and he also gifted me a bag. Akala ko book lang gift niya ng Christmas, may pahabol pa pala.

December 29

My husband was back around three in the morning, pinatulog muna namin siya then off we went to Southmall. I saw Samsonite Sale kasi online pero hindi naman pala siya nakasale sa mall. I need to buy hand-carry luggage sana for our Batanes trip. Sadly, 10kg lang ang limit ng checked-in luggage so kulang kami ng isang luggage. But we managed naman pagkasyahin ang gamit namin in two hand-carry on luggage and one duffle bag.

December 30

Finished some errands and household chores because we’re going to have a 4 Days Batanes Getaway. Honestly, I don’t want to go na nga kung hindi lang mahal ang airfare and nakapag 50% downpayment na kami sa hotel and tours. Di ba, ang ulan-ulan nung holiday so parang gusto ko na lang magstay sa house. Feeling ko uulanin din kami sa Batanes because I was checking the weather forecast, sabi very windy, thunderstorm and may rain. I packed our stuff 6 hours before we left sa sobrang tamad.

December 31

We only had  3 hours of sleep and we traveled all the way to Clark International Airport for our Batanes Getaway. Wala na pala Manila to Basco ang PAL so no choice na kami. But I’m so happy that there was no flight delay, cancellation and our plane landed on Basco Airport. I felt relieved na, finally bucket list checked. We celebrated our New Year’s Eve in Batanes. So stay tuned for my Batanes Trip series.

That’s it for now!
