Where to Stay in Bangkok Thailand

If you are planning your trip, the next question after booking your plane ticket is “Where Should I Stay in (insert country)”. Looking for accommodation is not easy especially if it will be your first time visiting the country. Take your time in researching, and reading reviews, and don’t forget to consider your budget. Ask yourself if you like to stay in Airbnb, hostels, or hotels.

Last month, we went to Bangkok, Thailand and I only had more than a week to look for accommodation. But thanks to my husband because he already tried several hotels in Bangkok so choosing a hotel is no longer a problem. Just in case you are planning for Bangkok, Thailand trip and you are looking for a family-friendly hotel, check out the following hotels in Sukhumvit Area.

Pro’s

1. Near Shopping malls
2. Near BTS Skytrain
3. A wide range of hotel to choose from
4. If you love partying, there is nightlife here
5. If you like eating, there are a lot of dining options

Con’s

1. Tourist spots are quite far.
2. Traffic is intense

Where to Stay in Bangkok Thailand

1. Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel

Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel is the first hotel that my husband tried in Bangkok, Thailand. The hotel is near Terminal 21 Shopping Mall and Asok BTS Skytrain. They have a connecting bridge so going to the mall and Skytrain is not a problem.

Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel has 6 award-winning restaurants so have peace of mind that you will eat good food. But just in case the budget is limited, you can just go to the mall and check out the different restaurants there.

This hotel offers a full-service spa, outdoor pool, fitness center, business center, airport shuttle and childcare. You have fruits every day in your room. Service is good.

2. Westin Grande Sukhumvit Hotel

Westin Grande Sukhumvit Hotel is the second hotel that my husband tried in Bangkok, Thailand. It is also located in the Sukhumvit area so it is near Terminal 21 shopping mall, BTS Asok Skytrain, and MRT Subway. It is just in front of the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel.

The room is big, the smallest room is 40-45 sq.m. You can choose 1 King-size bed or 2 Double beds so it is good for the family. It offers a fitness studio, in-room spa services, nail and beauty salon, child care services, and a rooftop pool. My husband likes the swimming pool here because he can do some laps.

If you are not fond of DIY travel, you can book your tours with them too. Service is good and if you are a regular hotel guest, they offer late check-out for free.

3. Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok

Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok is the third hotel that my husband tried in Sukhumvit Area. Among the three hotels, this is the most affordable one. It is just a five-minute walk to Terminal 21 shopping Mall, BTS Asok Skytrain, and the MRT subway. It is also near Robinson and a 24-hour supermarket. Don’t forget to use the back door.

It has a fitness center, business center, outdoor swimming pool, and complimentary Tuk-Tuk. So if you want to ride tuk-tuk, you can take advantage of the free shuttle tuk-tuk. Though we haven’t tried this because like I’ve said, the shopping mall and train station are just a few minutes walk.

This is where we stayed in Bangkok during our 6-day trip and we enjoyed our stay here. Service is good and they gave a lot of freebies. I will share more about this in a separate post, but you can check my review when my husband stayed here during his business trip.

4. Modena by Fraser Bangkok Hotel

If the budget is limited, book a room at Modena by Fraser Bangkok. It offers a fully furnished room and studio room. It is near Queen Sirikit MRT Station so commuting won't be a problem. It has a gym, restaurant, and lobby bar. The bathroom has no bathtub and they don't have a swimming pool. They offer a complimentary tuk-tuk shuttle which will take you to a nearby office building, MRT station, and commercial areas.

5. Louis’ Tavern Transit Hotel at Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel

Louis’ Tavern Transit Hotel is located in Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel. Yes, you’ve read it right. This hotel is inside the Suvarnabhumi Airport so if you have a long layover or early flight and you are looking for accommodation, you can stay here.

Read: Glimpse of Suvarnabhumi Airport

When my husband had a 9-hour layover in Bangkok, he stayed at Louis’ Tavern Transit Hotel to have a comfortable sleep while waiting for his morning flight. He can book a hotel outside the airport but he wanted to save on travel tax so he chose the transit hotel. No need to pass the immigration so no travel tax.

The rate is not similar to a hotel because the rate starts at 6 hours of use including a set meal. But at least, you can rest well.

6. Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Hotel

Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Hotel is a 4-star hotel which is located in central Bangkok. It is near Skytrain Station, restaurants, and shopping malls like Amarin Plaza, Big C, and Platinum Mall. It offers contemporary rooms, restaurants, a fitness center, a swimming pool, and a spa.

Economy Class vs Business Class of Philippine Airlines: International Flight

Being able to travel the world is a privilege because I know that not everyone is able to travel. So even we are not frequent travelers, we are still happy because from time to time we visit a new city or new country. We don’t care about the number of cities, countries or continents that we have visited, what is more important is the experience that we have gained during our travel trips.

Traveling via plane is already expensive unless you score a cheap airline ticket, so I don’t mind booking economy class tickets because we all know whatever class of tickets we have we are just going to the same destination. But of course, this doesn’t stop us from dreaming to experience Business Class Seats.

Two years ago, we experienced our first Business Class Seats. It is just a domestic flight from Cebu to Manila. Since we have Business Class tickets, we were able to stay at the Mabuhay Lounge Cebu Airport and when our flight was delayed, walang stress sa pag-asikaso, I just gave our boarding pass and sila na bahala. Read more about our experience.

Advantages of Business Class Tickets

1. A special lane for check-in.
2. Priority check-in, boarding, and luggage handling.
3. Access to Mabuhay Miles Lounge.
4. Welcome Drinks.
5. Hot Meals.
6. Priority Airport Standby.

It was just an hour flight so we’re hoping that someday, we can experience Business Class Seats for an international trip. We’re not in a hurry because we know how expensive Business Class Tickets. Little did we know that our dream will turn into reality. Last month, my husband booked our flight to Bangkok, Thailand, as usual, it is an economy class ticket (using our miles).

On the day of our trip, we just did the normal thing, we checked-in, passed the Immigration and stayed at the Mabuhay Lounge while waiting for our boarding time. Then we went to the boarding gate and waited for our take-off.

Business Class Experience

While waiting for the take-off, the flight attendant went to our row, she was talking to our seatmate and asked him if his surname is Solee, so napatingin kami bigla and was wondering kung may problem ba. Then the flight attendant went to my husband to confirm if his last name is Solee, we showed our boarding passes and then she advised us that we need to move seats. So we got our stuff and transferred, only to find out that we are upgraded to Business Class. Woah! We did not see it coming and we did not know why. But we’re so grateful for our experience. Watch the video here.
“Take every chance you get in life, because some things only happen once”
I thought, it only happens in movies but now I know that it can happen in real life. My husband is a frequent traveler but this is the first time na na-upgrade siya sa Business Class. The comfortable seat has a blanket, big pillow and of course big space for the legs. I can no longer touch the front seat, so kelangan ko pa tumayo para lang makuha yung magazine.

Upon seated, the Flight Attendant immediately asked us for our preferred welcome drinks and handed the Business Class Menu. Wow, ang dami choices for main course and drinks. For drinks, you can choose, champagne, white wine, red wine, liquors beers, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages (cold and hot).

For Manila to Bangkok flight, here is our meal

Appetizer: Scallops and Salmon in Mustard-Dill Dressing
Breads: Dinner roll, Wheat Roll, Multigrain Baguette, and Basil Olive Bread Slices.
Main Course: Manok sa Tanglad, Cod Fillet in Red Curry Sauce, or Beef in Apricot Red Vinegar Sauce
Dessert: Mango Lychee with Mango Pudding Carmen’s Best Ice Cream

Then one FA gave us iPad and headset for our complimentary use. Next FA, lay a tablecloth on our table and gave us appetizers and drinks. One thing that I noticed, you don’t need to call the FA, they just go to your seats. There are three Flight attendants who assisted us. They serve drinks, food and ask what you need. Service is really good, you will really feel special.

Bangkok to Manila flight is more than three hours so if you want to sleep, you can literally lie down and sleep.

They also provided a Premium Lane Pass for us. If you’ve read my post before, Suvarnabhumi Airport is one of the busiest airports in Asia so this Premium Lane Pass is a big help because you have Priority Lane for Immigration. According to my husband, most of the time it will take him one hour just to pass Bangkok Immigration. But this time, it only took us a few minutes. Then we were able to get our luggage immediately because there is a “Priority Tag” on our luggage.

Economy Class Experience

On our way back to Manila, we still have economy tickets so we experienced both types of service. Though we have an economy class ticket, we have number 1 to 3 privileges which are a Special lane for check-in, Priority check-in, boarding and luggage handling, and Access to Miracle Lounge courtesy of my husband’s Mabuhay Miles membership benefits. My son and I only have a Classic membership so if ever hindi namin kasama si hubby, wala kami Number 1-3 privilege. Hehehe!

We got a Premium Lane Pass ticket so no more long lines again in Immigration. My husband and son were able to stay at Miracle Lounge so free food, drinks, and wifi.

Wala ng free upgrade, hehehe! We stayed in the economy class seats. Back to the small pillow, no blanket (by request), and limited legroom. No complimentary iPad or headset use. Good thing that they served kid’s meals first because when it was our turn na, wala na kami options. Kung ano na lang natira sa tray nila. We still have ice cream for dessert pero hindi na Carmen’s Best Ice Cream.

So that is the difference between economy class and business class flight for an international flight.

Mother’s Day at Tong Yang Plus SM Bicutan

I was not able to celebrate Mother’s Day last year because we were in Norway. Unfortunately, Norway celebrates Mother’s Day every February so I’m the only mom who wants to celebrate Mom’s Day at that time. This year, we’re just here in the Philippines so we had a simple celebration of Mother’s Day.

We had lunch at Tong Yang Plus last Saturday. We all know that restaurants are always fully booked every Mother’s Day so I decided to celebrate it in advance. I tried Tong Yang Shabu Shabu and BBQ Restaurant last December, we had a get-together there with my college friends. I am satisfied with my dining experience so I was hoping that they will have a branch near our place.

Read: Tong Yang Shabu Shabu and BBQ Restaurant SM Megamall

After a few months, I learned that there is Tong Yang Plus in SM Bicutan. Yey, malapit na sa probinsiyanang katulad ko. Though it is quite far pa rin, I think it took us an hour to reach SM Bicutan because of SLEX traffic. I remember that Tong Yang SM Megamall is not accepting reservations, so I did not make any reservations at SM Bicutan, but when we got there. I saw some tables that were reserved so I guess it is better to call and reserve.

We arrived at 12NN and we’re happy that they are able to accommodate us, no more waiting. Yun nga lang share kami ng table sa iba. Our table is good for 8 persons so may katabi kami na ibang family dun. Good thing, tahimik naman sila. Hehehe!

I like the interiors of Tong Yang Plus SM Bicutan compared to SM Megamall branch, mas maliwanag kasi and mukhang mas malaki. There is enough space for each table, nung nasa SM Megamall kami, we always have to say “excuse me” every time tatayo at kukuha kami ng food kasi hindi kami makakalabas, ganun kaliit space nila pag occupied na yung magkatabing table.

I also prefer their table because there is one grill and 4 stoves so each person can choose their own soup, same with Four Seasons Buffet and Hotpot City SM Southmall branch. For soup, you have 8 choices. You can choose Laksa, Chicken Soup, Sate Soup, Sinigang Soup, Malatang Soup, Vegetable Soup, Seafood Soup, and Chinese Herb.

I checked their different stations and I was sad because I did not see fresh shrimps and beef bulgogi, yun kasi favorite ko kainin sa Tong Yang Megamall. But I saw ebi tempura, wala naman yan sa SM Megamall, yun nga lang pahirapan din makakuha ng ebi tempura, lagi nauubos.

If you are hungry and don’t want to cook, don’t worry because they have cooked food, salad, dim sum, and dessert. They also have sliced meat choices but you always have to order. Wala sila talagang nakaprepare like sa ibang buffet restaurant, yung ready na and kukunin mo na lang. With Tong Yang, you have to order and wait so nagkakapila pa. For sliced meat, they have Beef Chuck Eye Roll, Beef Karubi, Beef Striploin, Pork Neck, and Pork Belly.

Drinks are already included in their buffet rate and you have a lot of choices. I also saw beer in their Beverage Station.

I just ate here a few months ago and there is already a price increase, from P645 to P688. Though I’m not sure if the rate varies per branch or magkaiba pa ba ang Tong Yang sa Tong Yang Plus? Service is okay naman, matagal lang sa billing.

Breathtaking Gullfoss in Iceland

Our country is blessed with wonderful nature, we have so many beautiful beaches, hot spring, cold spring, and even waterfalls. So far, I have visited 6 waterfalls in the Philippines and there are more waterfalls to visit. It is nice to visit waterfalls especially now, it is so hot in the Philippines.

Read: Amazing Waterfalls in the Philippines

Last year, we were fortunate to visit another falls in Iceland. The first waterfall is located in Thingvellir National Park, tuwang-tuwa na ko dun when I saw that waterfall but little did I know na may maganda pa pala dun. As I mentioned in one of my posts, we visited Gullfoss which is part of the Golden Circle Tour. It is located in the canyon of Hvita river.

Read: Golden Circle Tour in Iceland

Gullfoss means Golden Falls, it is one of the most popular tourist spots in Iceland but honestly, I have no idea about this falls. All I know it is part of the Golden Circle Tour but little did I know that this will be the highlight of our tour.

Tourist started to visit Gullfoss around 1875, at that time the waterfall was hard to reach because of the rough terrain and impassable rivers. Sigridur Tomasdottir and her sisters acted as guides for the visitors and built the first trail that led down to the waterfall. Sigridur died in 1957 and the stone memorial that you can see in the Golden Falls was erected in 1979.

Thanks to them because now, it is easy to reach the waterfalls. From parking, we need to walk to the falls and there is a pathway so you won’t be lost. While walking, you can already hear the sound of the waterfall so in my mind malapit na. But the truth is, malayo pa pala and the reason why I can hear the sound is ang laki pala niya.

I can already see the waterfalls from the stairs and it leave me breathless. It was my dream to visit Niagara Falls but when I saw Gullfoss, napalitan bigla. In my opinion, this is more beautiful. I will run out of adjectives describing the Gullfoss, it is breathtaking, wonderful, amazing, spectacular, magnificent, stunning and astounding waterfall.

I will post here what I’ve read in their Tourist Information Board.
Gullfoss is Like No Other
No waterfall in Europe can match Gullfoss. In wildness and fury it outdoes the Niagra Falls of the United States. Thousands of unharnessed horsepowers flow continuously into the gorge, year in and year out.
Gullfoss is a unique natural phenomenon that triggers varying impressions in people. Its conservation, and thereby its existence in its present form, has a unique history.
Gullfoss and the surrounding area were made a nature reserve in 1979 to give people the best possible opportunity to enjoy this unique natural scene. The area’s ecosystem is also protected and its vegetation remains untouched. Attempts are made to minimize man’s footprints to keep man-made structures to a minimum and not to disturb the land and geological formations.
Even we’re all tired, tanggal pagod namin when we saw the waterfall. I am afraid of heights but it does not stop me from walking, ingat na ingat nga lang kasi one mistake ko, mamatay ako pag nalaglag ko sa falls. hehehe! While walking, you might get wet because of the waterfalls, sa lakas ng buhos niya there are floating water droplets everywhere. Kaya pati camera ko nababasa at nagmoist. Hehehe!

Watch the video here.

According to Wikipedia, the wide river moves southward which is about one kilometer above the waterfalls, it flows down into a three-step staircase and plunges in two stages. 140 cubic meters per second (summer) and 80 cubic meters per second (winter) is the average amount of water running down the waterfalls.

Indeed this is the highlight of our trip and would you believe that this is FREE. Yes, just like the other tourist spots that we have visited, there is no entrance fee for this attraction.

Glimpse of Suvarnabhumi Airport

Bangkok, Thailand is the first country that I’ve set my foot on, it was our first layover when we went to Norway. We stayed in Don Mueang International Airport for more than 11 hours waiting for our flight to Frankfurt, Germany. Bangkok Airport was big compared to NAIA 1, thank God we did not get lost and we found the correct boarding gate. It was our first out of the country trip so everything was new to us.

When the year 2017 came, I became busy preparing for our summer trip. I wanted to explore Bangkok so we decided to stay there for few days before flying to Oslo, Norway. Unfortunately, the available date from Bangkok to Oslo did not match our preferred date so we gave up our Bangkok, Thailand side trip. We just stayed at Suvarnabhumi Airport for our layover. Bangkok Airport is huge but we have no time to explore it because we always rushed to our boarding gate, we’re afraid to miss our connecting flight.

Manila to Bangkok

Fast forward to last month, we were back in Bangkok, Thailand but this time it is no longer a stopover. Finally, I can say that I’ve been to Thailand, nakalabas na rin ko ng airport. Hehehe!

Suvarnabhumi Airport is the 9th busiest airport in Asia and 20th busiest airport in the world and I can’t deny that because even the airport is big, you can see a lot of people there. And because of the flock of tourists, it will take you more than an hour to pass the Immigration.

We’re thankful that there is Priority Lane in BKK airport so we did not wait that long. We got Premium Lane Pass from Manila to Bangkok and Bangkok to Manila. I will share more about this in a separate post.

Read: Economy Class vs Business Class Ticket of Philippine Airlines: International Trip

We got our luggage in no time and I immediately searched for the Klook Counter so I can claim my 4G Sim Card. Looking for the counter is not easy even I have map and when I asked question, sa iba naman ko tinuro. Lol It was a relief when I saw the Klook Counter and Superrich Thailand so I was able to change my money to Thailand Baht.

My husband thought I was lost sa tagal ko ba naman bumalik sa exit gate pero sa totoo lang ang layo ng nilakad ko para lang sa sim card. Then we went to Gate 5 to wait for the hotel pick-up service.

Bangkok to Manila

After breakfast, we checked-out early for our 1:30PM flight. On the way to the airport, the rain started to fall and because of that, traffic is so bad. We did not worry because we know that we still have a lot of time to check-in. By the time we reached the airport, the check-in counter is not yet open. Oh di ba, ang aga pa talaga namin.

We got a Premium Lane pass so we passed the Immigration immediately. We went straight to Miracle Lounge, my husband and son stayed at the lounge while I explored the Bangkok Airport. I don’t want to pay THB500 for extra person fee, idagdag ko na lang sa pasalubong.

I checked their Duty Free Shops, I like how they named their shops, you can see Tastes of Thailand, Memories of Thailand, Touches of Thailand, and Scents of Thailand. It is easy for you to decide which shops you are going to visit. They also have a pharmacy at the airport, a lot of tourists are buying pasalubong there.

I ate pizza before going to the boarding gate. By the time we reached the gate, we are just in time for boarding. Yey! Flight is on time! There is free wifi at the airport but I was not able to try it since I’m using my Thailand Sim Card with unlimited connection for 8 days.

Just in case you have a long layover, you can also stay at Louis Tavern Hotel Dayrooms Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel. Yes, there is room accommodation inside the airport.

Where to Buy Discounted Tickets for your Travel Adventures in Asia

Traveling is costly and there is no doubt about that. But this is not a reason for you to stop exploring the world because there are different ways to save for your next travel adventures. You can book a cheap airfare, budget-friendly hotels and discounted tickets.

Read: 8 Ways to Score Cheap Airline Tickets

Speaking of discounted tickets, for the past few years, I’ve been reading and hearing good reviews about Klook. But I did not mind it because I prefer buying my tickets on the day of our trip just to be sure that I won’t waste my money just in case our travel plans did not push through.

My brother has been buying tickets at Klook for their past travels so last month, I finally checked this site. We booked a flight to Bangkok, Thailand, 9 days before our trip so I only have several days to make our itinerary. Spell CRAMMING. I’ve been to Bangkok four times pero hanggang airport lang (layover), so I guess, I never been to Bangkok so it was a challenge to plan an itinerary in less than ten days.

Read: Glimpse of Suvarnabhumi Airport

I was thankful to Klook because it gives me an idea of what to do, where to go and how to get to different attractions in Bangkok, Thailand. There are so many tour packages on their site so at first, I’m just browsing and adding tour package on my wishlist.

I was hesitant to book because some packages are non-refundable so before booking, I’ve made sure that we can visit this place on the scheduled date. I told my husband about this site and he agreed with me so I purchased my first voucher at Klook. I fixed my itinerary and booked the ticket, one day at a time.

How to Purchase Voucher at KLOOK

1. Go to KLOOK website or download the app and register.
2. Start searching, filter your choices. Choose country and city
3. Browse the different packages
4. Choose package
5. Choose date
6. Choose Package Quantity (number of persons)
7. Click Book now
8. Enter traveler’s information
9. Pay via credit card or Paypal

After payment, you will see this note

Payment successful!
Thanks for booking with Klook! Your order summary and voucher will be sent to (insert email) Check email for confirmation voucher

* The amount is in peso but during check-out, the amount was converted to dollar amount so I paid USD via Paypal.

10. Check email, print the voucher or just show your mobile voucher. Some attractions, they get my printed voucher.

Can I Really Save Money?

Honestly, when I was checking their site, I can’t believe that there are really discounted tickets because when we went to Hong Kong and we stayed in one of the Disneyland’s hotel, I paid regular tickets and they did not even give me a discount even we're hotel guests and I purchased our HK Disneyland ticket at the hotel’s reception. But here in Klook, there are really discounted tickets and I even compared it to the website of the places that we’re going to visit and believe it or not, it is much cheaper. So if you want to save money, check Klook site.

For our Bangkok, Thailand trip, here are the vouchers that I purchased.

1. Sim Card P499 to P248

For past previous trips, I’m not buying any sim card nor I’m not renting any pocket wifi. I just rely on my postpaid plan, I turned on my roaming if I really need it. But we all know that the rate is not cheap, I think it is P550 per day.

So when I learned about the 4G Sim Card in Thailand, I did not have any second thoughts. Imagine, I have an unlimited connection for 8 days for P248 only. I can call or text my husband if I need to. THB 100 call credits (30min talk time) This is really a big saving on my part. I picked-up my sim card at BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport Klook Counter and they are the one who put the sim card on my phone and set up. The voucher is refundable too just in case something happened with your flight.

2. Kidzania Bangkok

Yes, there is Kidzania Manila already but it is also nice to visit other Kidzania branches. Their rates are expensive compared to Manila branch so it is better to book your ticket at Klook website to get a discount. What nice about this voucher, it is refundable. Yes, full refunds will be issued for cancelations made at least 24 hours prior to the activity.

Toddlers (2-3) P1150 to P833
Child (4-14) P1916 to P1433
Adult (15+) P1150 to P916

I purchased 1 Adult and 1 Child ticket for P2349 or $45.01.

3. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World

My son likes visiting different zoos and ocean parks so I included this in our itinerary. It is the largest aquarium in South East Asia. They have different packages for SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World so it took me days to choose. I was torn between the Super Combo and Aquarium + Madame Tussauds Admission Only.

Aquarium Entry Only P999 (P1648)
Aquarium + 4D movie P1082 (P2147)
Aquarium + Glass Bottom Boat P1165 (P1897)
Aquarium + 4D Movie + Glass Bottom Boat P1248 (P2,164)
Aquarium + Photo P1332 (P2646)
Super Combo P1415 (P2314)
Aquarium + Madame Tussauds Admission Only P1864 (P3296)

But in the end, I chose Aquarium + 4D Movie + Glass Bottom Boat P1248 (P2,164)

Adult (P2164) P1248
Child 3-11 (P1831) P1207

I bought 1 Adult and 1 Child ticket and paid P2455 or $47.09

Package Details Inclusive Of:
Admission ticket to SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
4D cinema ticket at SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
Glass-bottomed boat and Ocean Feeding

It was a good decision because the Glass Bottom Boat is THB350 already per person if you want to experience it.

4. Chao Phraya Princess Cruise

My initial plan is to go to Chocolate Ville and IKEA Bangna on our first day but I changed my mind. So night before our flight I purchased Chao Phraya Princess Cruise so we can explore Chao Phraya River and see the historic landmarks at night while enjoying the dinner buffet.

Adult P1581 (P2497)
Child P1332 (P1831)

I bought 2 Adults and 1 Child ticket for P4494 or $86.21.

Klook Tickets vs Regular Tickets

Klook Tickets

Sim Card P248
Kidzania Bangkok P2349
SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World P2455
Chao Phraya Princess Cruise P4494
Total P9,456

Regular Tickets

Sim Card P499
Kidzania Bangkok P3066
SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World P3955
Chao Phraya Princess Cruise P6825
Total P14,345

So I was able to save P4799. What nice about Klook, aside from discounted tickets, they also give rebates so I also earned points from my bookings and I can use this points for my future purchases. If you haven’t tried Klook, use my link and get discount

* This post contains affiliate link/s. If you decide to make a purchase, I will earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support.

Klook is not only available in Asia, they offer discounted tickets in East Asia, South East Asia, South Asia, Middle East, Oceania, Europe and North America. Just check their site to know if the country you are visiting is included.

Our Mabuhay Lounge Experience at NAIA 2

At last, after one year, we finally set foot in the airport. My son and I are not frequent travelers so going to the airport make us a little bit excited because we’re going to different city or country again.

We left as early as 5AM for our 9:30AM flight. The travel tax is already included in our plane ticket so hindi na kami pumila dun, the downside is I paid P1620 for my son, which is dapat P800+ lang if they applied the child discount. Kaso pag thru phone booking, P1620 talaga.

Anyway, the immigration line is very long, I think they are having a system upgrade at that time kaya ang bagal ng service. It took us almost an hour to finish the check-in and immigration line so we’re really hungry. I’m thankful for the free access to Mabuhay Lounge.

Who has Access to Mabuhay Lounge?

Domestic Lounges
International Lounges

I already blogged about this airport lounge before, you can check it here. My son and I were first-timers here, we tried the Mabuhay Lounge in Cebu before and I agree with my husband, Mabuhay Lounge in NAIA 2 is much bigger. Mas malaki din compared to MIASCOR Airport Lounge that we tried last year.

There are cereals, fruits, bread, desserts, dim sum, congee, and hot and cold drinks. I was not able to take a lot of pictures because the lounge was crowded. But still thankful because we have comfortable seats, free food and drinks, and wifi.
