Cheese Egg Sandwich

If we are traveling and we want to save time, we don’t usually eat at home. Depending on our destination, we just eat at the airport, stop over or we’ll order food for take out. One of our go-to restaurants is McDonald's and my usual order is Cheesy Eggdesal with Ham. From time to time, I recreate this sandwich at home.

There are several videos on How to Make Grilled Cheese Egg Sandwich but I prefer cooking the egg and toasting bread separately. I just feel that one egg per sandwich is too much if I need to make several sandwiches. My version of Cheese Egg Sandwich is…

1. Cooked the scrambled egg and slice.
2. Spread butter on sliced bread.
3. Place egg and cheese on top of the sliced bread.
4. Cover with another sliced bread and toast for few minutes or until the cheese melts.

You can also grill them on the same pan where you cook the scrambled egg pero dahil late magising mag-ama ko, I prepare these sandwiches in advance and we will just toast it in the oven toaster before breakfast. I don’t have ham so Cheese Egg Sandwich lang. Hehehe!

Bacon + Mushroom + Cheese Bread

I have mozzarella cheese in our fridge, I wanted to make pizza but I don’t have pizza sauce so I just made a pizza without sauce. Hehehe! I sauted the bacon, onion and mushroom.

Every time I want to have a snack, I just put cooked toppings +mozzarella cheese on the bread and toast it in the oven toaster for few minutes until the cheese melts.

Voila! I have a yummy bread. I can eat two slices in one sitting. My family loves this snack, they enjoyed it even without the pizza sauce. It so addicting that I eat it every day until I ran out of toppings.

Hershey’s Spread

My son likes eating sandwiches, if I remember it right, he was eating bread + Nutella almost every single day when he was three years old and it was also his baon when he was in Nursery.

But time came na nagsawa din siya so I have to look and try different spreads that he likes. We tried the Lotus Biscoff before, he loves it but not really his favorite so I thought he prefers chocolate spread. I bought Ovomaltine but he didn’t like it, maybe because the texture is not fine.  Since imported spreads are not cheap, I stopped buying at sayang pagdi niya type. Good thing my son loves peanut butter spread too.

Last April, I saw this Hershey’s Spreads Chocolate with Almond at S&R P200. I was glad that my son loves it and he was eating bread + Hershey's spreads during weekdays for his breakfast.

And because it is his favorite, I went back to S&R again to buy this spread. The available spread is Hershey’s Spread Chocolate at P220, waah! Nagtaas na.

I don’t know how long he will like this spread but I’m hoping that the price will not increase anymore.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

I was clearing my photo albums in my phone when I saw this grilled cheese sandwich. I can’t believe that I haven’t posted it yet in my blog because I always cook this at home. It is so easy to make and you can eat it on breakfast or snacks.

You only need butter, mozzarella cheese, slices of bread.

1. Heat the grilling pan or any flat pan.
2. You can put butter directly on the pan or spread it on your bread.
3. I put cheese on one slice of the bread and cover it with another bread.
4. Grill both sides until lightly brown and cheese melts.
5. Slice diagonally and serve.

If I’m lazy, I put the sandwich in the oven toaster. Hehehe! My husband puts cracked pepper on his cheese sandwich.

Dulce de Leche French Toast

What do you usually do with your stale bread? If I’m not lazy I will make bread pudding but the easiest way to save the stale bread is making French Toast.  Last Sunday, I’ve made Dulce de Leche French Toast. The steps are the same with French Toast, the only difference is the spread, you can use Nutella or any spread you want.

1 egg

1 cup milk
1/2 tbsp of sugar
6 slices of bread
Butter
1/2 tbsp cinnamon powder (optional)
Dulce de Leche

1. Beat egg, then add milk and sugar.

2. Spread Dulce de Leche in one slice of bread and put another slice of bread to make a sandwich.
3. Soak the bread in egg mixture just enough to coat the bread.

4. Heat your pan and put butter.

5. Place your bread in the pan and cook until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes on each side,
6. Slice in half and serve.

* You can add cinnamon in your egg mixture or sprinkle it before serving the French Toast.
