4th World Travel Expo Experience

I’m itching to travel again so when I learned that we have two weeks semestral break, I immediately look for a place where we could spend our sembreak. Unfortunately, I was having a hard time kasi lagi na lang may problem, like hindi okay ang weather, mahal ang airfare or wala na ko makitang available resort or hotel na pasok sa budget. I don’t want to spend P10K/per night sa room because hindi naman kami magstaycation.

I want to travel but of course, I don’t want to hurt our savings so as much as possible I have to stick with our budget. Nainis din ko ng slight kasi sa school calendar namin, one-week lang semestral break so wala ko balak umalis. Then a week before sembreak, may nasagap ko na tsismis na two weeks daw ang sembreak namin dahil nasa South Korea mga school personnels. Pero last day of class na nag-inform si teacher and confirmed TWO WEEKS ANG SEMBREAK. Waah!

This is the reason, bakit Friday lang ang blog post ko last week because I was busy searching and planning for our trip. I stopped searching na lang kasi napagod na talaga ko kakahanap. I felt that I wasted my one week because wala din akong naplano and nastress lang ako. After few days, I checked kung may Travel Expo and voila, meron World Travel Expo at SMX Convention Center so napaluwas kami bigla. And the search is not yet over.

What: World Travel Expo 2019
Where: Function room 3, 4, and 5, SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City
When:  October 25, 26, 27, 2019, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Admission Fee: Php 80 - Adult and P50 for students, senior citizens, and PWD.

I checked the list of exhibitors and ang konti lang, wala nga ko nakita na airlines. Anyway, this is the 4th World Travel Expo so mag-improve din sila in the future.

Kahit konti lang ang nagjoin, hindi naman nasayang ang punta namin. We availed the PHP600 (from PHP1200) Japan Visa Processing, malay mo makabalik kami ng Japan. hehehe! I have 3 months to use the voucher and submit our requirements. I also bought 2 Stanley Food Jar at PHP1589 each less 25% off. Lastly, we booked 2 Palmera Suites at The Farm at San Benito (PHP8000 nett/per room). We checked other resorts and hotels pero dahil ang laki ng discount sa The Farm at San Benito kaya dito kami nagbooked. Matatanggal na rin siya sa bucket list ko. :)

KitchenAid Sale

When I started baking, my husband gifted me a Philips Stand Mixer and I’ve been using it for 12 years already. It is still working fine and madami na kaming pinagsamahan. But when I attended a bread baking class and started making dough, I find that my current mixer is too small for my bread recipe and nahihirapan siya sa pag knead ng dough.

And because of that, I wanted to replace my mixer. Of course, I want a KitchenAid mixer, I’m sure I’m not alone in this dream, every baker wants a KitchenAid. My only concern is the price, yes, we all know that KitchenAid mixer is not cheap so I was hesitant to buy this.

Two years ago, my husband went to the USA and when he visited an Outlet, he started sending me some KitchenAid photos. He asked me if I want a mixer but at that time, our oven is not yet fixed so I declined.

Now, we have a new gas range so last week, my husband told me na bumili na daw ko ng KitchenAid mixer, birthday gift daw niya sa akin. I saw KitchenAid Classic Stand Mixer at Landers, the price is P24,5999.75. My husband wanted to buy it na so I can have it before my birthday but I told him, I will check Rustan’s first.

So last weekend after my Birthday Staycation at Sheraton Manila, we went straight to Alabang Town Center. From the parking lot, we saw Anson’s so we checked kung may KitchenAid sila kaso wala. Then nagCR break ang mag-ama ko and while waiting for them, I saw the KitchenAid store and may sign na SALE.

When my two boys went out from the CR, my husband called me and tinuro niya yung way na pabalik ng Anson’s pero hindi ako lumapit, sila pinapunta ko sila sa pwesto ko. Hehehe! My husband was also surprised na may KitchenAid store sa ATC.

So all the mixers are on sale, may 15% and 20% discount kaming nakita. I saw the Artisan Mini Stand Mixer at P19,995 only from P31,195. I was tempted to buy this mixer because I can choose colors but I reminded myself that I need a bigger mixer. I can choose 5QT but I chose the 4.5QT Classic Mixer kasi ito yung pinakamura and konti lang naman difference sa size. The only disadvantage lang is the color, White or Onyx Black lang ang meron. I chose the Onyx Black because I don’t like white colors at dumihin.

KitchenAid 4.5 Quart Classic Stand Mixer

Flour Power Rating: 6 cups all-purpose flour

Features:
0.33 horsepower DC motor is designed to run longer and delivers optimum torque with less heat build up.
Tilt-head mechanism for easy removal of bowl and accessories.
Patented planetary mixing action provides the highest beater to bowl ratio for faster and more thorough mixing
All metal construction ensures many years of dependable service
Seamless design cleans up easily with a soft damp cloth.
Fits all attachments available.

Accessories included : 4.5 QT Stainless Steel Work Bowl, Coated Flat BEater, Whire Whisk, COated C-Dough Hook.

I’m not sure kung sino mas happy sa amin ni hubby, happy ako sa bagong mixer ko or mas happy si hubby kasi sobrang nakamura siya. He bought this for P17,245 and he saved P7354.75 kasi hindi ako agad bumili sa Landers. He even went to Rustan’s to check the price, naka-Sale din sila pero mas mura pa rin sa KitchenAid store mismo. I checked online and may sale din, the staff said until end of August daw.

Shopping at Landers Superstore Alabang West

Landers Superstore is one of the membership stores here in the Philippines. So far, they only have few branches so I’m just glad that there is Landers Superstore Alabang. But it took me a long time to visit this store because…

1. I thought it is far and mahirap puntahan.
2. We have a membership at S&R so I was thinking kung need ko pa ba ng isa?
3. And I’m saving money so iwas temptation muna.

For the past two years, I did not renew our membership at S&R because nawili ako maggrocery sa Landmark - Festival Mall. But after seeing all the B1T1 deals, PHP1 products and discounts on social media, I finally suggested to my husband to visit Landers so we can check.

Good thing, umabot pa kami sa last day of their Super Crazy Store sale. We arrived around 9:20AM and mahirap na makakuha ng parking. Since it was our first time, my husband applied for a membership card. There is a promo so he paid PHP400 only instead of PHP800 membership fee.

Landers Superstore Card Benefits:
  • Access to a wide selection of top-notch local and international branded goods
  • Participation in Super Crazy Sale, Super Fuel Sale, and other promotional activities
  • Free haircut or shampoo and blow-dry services at Federal Barbers
  • Up to ₱10.00 off per liter on gasoline at any Landers Caltex stations
  • Member discount at Capital Care Pharmacy
  • Excellent food and drink choices from Landers Central, Doppio, Dough & Co.
  • Fast and easy shopping on our online store
Everything was organized so applying for the card is not difficult and may upuan pa while waiting. I noticed na maluwag naman yung store nila especially yung lobby. They have Barber Shop, Pharmacy Store and Landers Central for foods and drinks.

For grocery cart, shoppers are not allowed to get grocery carts outside the store so you have to wait for available cart. You can shop naman without cart but I doubt kung makakaya mo kasi for sure mabigat ang bitbitin mo. This is a good idea para first come, first serve talaga and walang abangan ng grocery cart sa parking. Malilimit din nila yung number of people sa loon kasi ang hirap mamili pag ang sikip.

Anyway, after getting the card our shopping begins. When I saw the long lines na umabot na ng dulo, I told my husband na pumila na siya and ako na lang nag-ikot. I haven’t explored all the aisles nga nung nakita ko na malapit na sa cashier si hubby so I stopped looking around na. Maybe next time, nabili ko naman yung nasa list ko, yung bed sheets, pillows and iron.

What I like about Landers Superstore Super Crazy Sale?

1. Very organized from parking, membership application, sa pila sa cashier.
2. I like their Surprice promo where you can buy products for PHP1 only. It depends on the day that you are going to visit and while supplies last.

June 26, 2019 - Assorted swimsuit PHP299.75
June 27, 2019 - Aquafresh Teeth Toothpaste PHP99.75

June 29, 2019 - Tide Bar PHP129.75
June 30, 2019 - M&M Peanut Choc Fun Size - P119.75

3. If it is your birth month, you can buy pizza of any flavor for PHP400.
4. Super Fuel Sale All Year Promo. You can turn your P3000 worth of shopping into more fuel discounts. Promo redemption is until Feb. 29, 2020 at any Landers-Caltex gas station.

According to our receipts, we saved a total of P6,663.38 and we got 3 Fuel Coupons. We took advantage of the birth month pizza for PHP400 at Landers Central. Sharing some of the stuff that we bought during Landers Super Crazy Sale. Yung iba, we bought it at a regular price.

Philips Light Steam Iron - From PHP2649.75 to PHP1324.75
Surf Liquid Detergent 1400ml - From PHP399.75 to 239.75 - This is my regret, mas mura pa pala yung binibili ko na liquid detergent sa regular grocery.

Next time, I will explore the meat products section. Ito yung hindi ko gaano nacheck pero napansin ko na may mga “How to Cook” pa na information and if you love Korean BBQ, meron din sila dun. I'll go back na lang pag may budget na ulit. hehehe!

Christmas Sale at Landmark

Ever since the opening of Landmark at Festival Mall, we’ve been going to Alabang every month. Yes, I do my grocery in Landmark because I find their prices cheaper compared to the nearest supermarket in our place. Malaki rin difference so maramihan bili na lang para sulit. They have free parking (basement) din for 3 hours, just don’t forget to validate your receipt before going out. You can check my review here.

Anyway, my husband has no work for the last few days because of the ASEAN Summit so I took advantage of it. Nagpalabtest ako, naggrocery and Christmas shopping na rin. Hence, I have no blogpost but I’m glad because I already finish my Christmas gift list for my family and in-laws. Oh di ba, ang aga ko natapos di ba. All I need to do is wrap them and deliver.

My son has classes so while he was still in school, my husband and I went to Landmark. I have no idea that they have a sale from Nov. 14 to 19, 2017 up to 50% off. I was buying gifts or stuff for our house, I bought few pieces na naka 20% off, so they gave me a paper. At the cashier, I noticed that the cashier is giving 10% discount, so I asked her kung lahat ba may discount? Yes daw, halos lahat ng regular items nila meron. Sayang lang yung ibang gift and Christmas lights ko wala 10% off, but I’m happy because 75% ng nabili ko were discounted. Laking tipid!

So if you are planning to shop, check the Landmark Sale, till November 19, na lang.

We need to be smart in spending our money so as much as possible, we only shop if there are sales or discounts. We look for promos or packages if we want to have a staycation. We wait for seat sales so we can buy cheap airline tickets for our travel trips.

There are so many ways to save money but sometimes, waiting for sales and promos can be a tedious task. Going to a mall sale is stressful because of the crowded store and long lines in the cashier. So why wait if there are Groupon Coupons that you can avail every day.

Shopping at Groupon

This is a sponsored post.

Christmas holiday is fast approaching. Here in the Philippines, we start the countdown as early as September 1. Oh yes, we celebrate Christmas holiday for so long.

As I mentioned in my previous posts, I already started buying gifts for the holiday to avoid cramming. I will start wrapping gifts this semestral break too.

Speaking of the holidays, ber-months are known for heavy traffic and crowded malls so I really appreciate online shopping sites because they save time and effort.

So if you have no time in going to the malls, if you dislike heavy traffic and you hate squeezing through the crowd, I suggest you take advantage the online shopping.

I stumbled on Groupon site while browsing, it is an online shopping site too. It is not just an ordinary shopping site because they offer deals, coupons, discounted products and clearance sale. It is nice to know that you are not only saving time and effort but Groupon makes you save money too.

Actually, it has so many products that you can choose from, they have goods for baby, kids, men and women. They have products for home, entertainment, electronics and even collectibles. Name it and they have it for you.

Since the holiday season is near, I was browsing Groupon Goods because my Christmas wish list is related to travel. I want luggage, luggage protector and packing cubes. I hope my husband is reading my post so he’ll get an idea on what to give this holiday. :)

How about you, have you tried Groupon?

Shopping for School Bag

Whether I like it or not, two weeks from now I have to kiss goodbye to summer vacation. I’ve been busy preparing all my son’s needs this coming school year and my back to school checklist is almost done.

Aside from books, one of the major expense in school is a bag. I just bought a trolley bag last year and it is still working fine but the problem is, we need a bigger bag because my son will be in grade school.

I told my husband last year to buy box type bag so we can reuse it the following year but he doesn’t like the idea because it is too big for my son. Ok fine, siya naman magbayad.

Two weeks ago, when my friend told me that she will go to SM, I asked her to check the price and design of the Hawk Bag box type bag. She sent me the pictures of the bag.

I was shocked when she told me that the price is P4,299.75. Waah! Mahal pa sa bag ko and almost double the price of our school bag last year. Click here to see our old bag. She informed me that there will be less 10% sa weekend sale.

After few days of waiting, we took advantage of the weekend sale and went to SM. The mall was really packed and box office hit ang pila sa cashier but of course tiniis ko ito para sa discount. Lol. I got the bag at P3,869.77 from P4,299.75. The salesman said, “kung nandito kayo before 12 noon may additional 10% discount. Sayang, 20% discount sana.

Hawk bag has been the leading manufacturer of high-quality bags and accessories since 1978. That is why,, I like Hawk bag because tried and tested na namin. I also like the features of the bag.

Ergonomic Design - I like the simple design and color. This box type has six wheels so my son can push or pull the bag in any directions.
Lock Stitch Technology
Heavy Duty Zipper
Multiple Organizer - it has a lot of pockets so you can easily organize the school stuff.

Pocket for the water bottle.
Pocket for snack/lunch.
Pocket in front where you can put the pencil case, scissors, crayons and many more.
Pocket at the back is where I put the extra clothes.
Pocket inside the bag where I put the whiteboard.

Weather Resistance - there’s available cover if it rains. Are you done with your back to school shopping?

Update 2017:

When my son was in Grade 3, his grandmother gifted him a new school bag for Christmas. The Blue Hawk Bag is still in good condition but we need a bigger bag for his Grade 4-6 school stuff. We gave the old bag to his cousin. The price is P4299.75 less 10% discount.

Cafe France Buy 1 Take 1 Bread

We went to Asian Hospital last Friday for my son’s MMR/Varicella Booster shot and we saw a kiosk of Café France. They have buy 1 take 1 promo on all breads every Friday of January.

We were able to buy this for P198.

Sanuk Summer Hangover

Yesterday, I was browsing my Facebook and I’ve learned that there was Sanuk Summer Hangover in Solenad so I immediately told my husband about it. Since last year I was convincing my husband to buy Sanuk Sandals but the price is not that cheap so of course the answer is always no.

Finally, I was able to convince him yesterday so off we went to Solenad even it was raining. I registered to join the raffle.

There were a lot of people so it was hot and it wasn’t easy to choose. My husband bought a pair for P1,200 only. So if you have time visit Solenad next weekend, May 25 and 26, 2013.

S&R Member's Treat and Free Pizza

We were so busy last month so even there’s S&R Member’s Treat last March 13-17, 2013 I did not include this in my calendar but last March 15, our TV stopped working so we have no choice but to buy a new one.

I guess we have to say goodbye to my TV. I had this TV for 8 years already, oh yes; I was still single when I had it so it was really an old model. But we have rules in the house na “pag kaya pa irepair, ipaayos, pag hindi pa sira, hindi pa papalitan”, so even there was an LCD, LED and now Smart TV we’re still using the old one.

But now, we decided to buy new one instead of going to repair shop. New TV models are space saver and energy efficient and I’m hoping that we can save more on electricity.

Thank God because we were able to visit S&R Member’s Treat last day of sale so we were able to buy TV for less. We save almost P7000 + free home theatre worth P15,000. And because of that we were able to get free 1 whole pizza courtesy of HSBC promo.

S&R Member's Treat

We’ve been a member of S&R for quite some time now and S&R Member’s Treat is something that we always look forward because of the big discounts and buy 1 take 1 promo. People do not mind the crazy lines because of the savings that they will get.

S&R had a March Big Deals but I control myself not to go there and wait for the Member’s Treat April 2-6, 2014. Comparing our experience before this Member’s Treat is like a normal day because parking is available, carts are everywhere, few people and no long lines.

Honestly, I was disappointed para talagang hindi Member’s Treat. Most of the items that we bought are in regular price and I think these are the only items that we bought at discounted price and B1T1 promo. Kirkland Fish Oil Vitamins at P749.95.
