Day 2: Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World

If you have kids, zoos, ocean parks, theme parks are always part of the itinerary. So whenever we travel, there should always fun activity for kids. My son loves visiting zoos and ocean parks so I added Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World. It is the biggest aquarium in Southeast Asia where you can see more than 400 sea species and 30,000 fishes. There are scheduled shows and fun talks that you can watch and some paid activities like 4D Cinema, Glass Bottom Ride, Animal Feeding, and Happy Fish pedicure.

The Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World entrance fee is not cheap so I was thankful that I discovered Klook website and I was able to purchase our ticket at a discounted price. They have different packages so it took me a while to choose, at first I want to book the Aquarium + Madame Tussauds but after contemplating, I chose the Aquarium + 4D Movie + Glass Bottom Boat P1248 (P2,164).

Aquarium Entry Only P999 (P1648)
Aquarium + 4D movie P1082 (P2147)
Aquarium + Glass Bottom Boat P1165 (P1897)
Aquarium + 4D Movie + Glass Bottom Boat P1248 (P2,164)
Aquarium + Photo P1332 (P2646)
Super Combo P1415 (P2314)
Aquarium + Madame Tussauds Admission Only P1864 (P3296)

Ticket Price

Child 3-11 (P1831) P1207

I bought 1 Adult and 1 Child ticket and paid P2455 or $47.09. The price may vary depending on the foreign exchange. Keep in mind that ticket is fixed date so no cancellation so make sure that you can visit the aquarium on the specified date. If you haven’t tried Klook, use my link and get a discount on your first purchase.

How to Get to Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World

Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World is easily accessible by the BTS Skytrain. From the hotel, my son and I rode BTS Skytrain at Asok Station going to Siam Station, (BTS - Sukhumvit Line; 4 stations). From Siam Station, go to exit no. 5, enter the Siam Paragon mall and follow the signs. The aquarium is located at B1 & B2 of the mall.

I just presented my voucher and they gave me the physical ticket. They did not give me any flyers so don’t forget to ask for one when you enter the aquarium. If you have kids in tow, ask for the Dive Logbook. Your kids will look for 9 Dive stations and collect stamps. They have a reward after completing the task.

List of Attractions

Rocky Hideout
Shark Walk
Coral Reef
Behind the Scenes Tour
Seahorse Kingdom
Tropical Rainforest
Rockpools
Rocky Shore
Living Art
Tropical Ocean
Ocean Tunnel
Shark Shipwreck
Jellies
Penguin Ice Adventure
Conservation Cove
Retail Shop and Exit

The Glass Bottom Ride is THB350 per person, good thing I bought a combo package because I find it expensive for a few minutes ride. I don’t know how much is the 4D cinema but when we watched the show, kami lang tao ng anak ko. Hehehe!

Watch the video here.

Though this is the largest aquarium in Southeast Asia, you only need two hours to explore the park. So make sure you check the scheduled of shows and feeding activities so you can plan your trip. I failed to do this so we were not able to watch other shows. My plan was to avoid the crowd so we went there during the opening time.

If you still have the energy and budget, visit Kidzania or Madame Tussauds after Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World. Use my link and get discounted tickets.

Field Trip in Subic

A week before the field trip day, I received a reminder about the field trip itinerary and I was so sad because the field trip is Ocean Adventure. Waah! We have just visited Zoobic Safari and Ocean Adventure last February and sobrang fresh pa sa memories ko. Lol

So I was thinking if we will join the field trip or not because

1. Field trip day is also my son’s birthday.

2. We have just visited the place last February.
3. I wasn’t feeling well due to cold and cough.
4. This is our first trip without Daddy because only 1 chaperone is allowed. I can imagine the stress already.

But I also have to consider these things

1. I already paid this field trip because it is included in the tuition.

2. This is the first field trip of my son in his new school and sabi nga ni hubby, bonding niya with his classmates.
3. This is also the last field trip that I can accompany my son because next year no more chaperone allowed.

So ending, I went to school to pay for chaperone fee. We celebrated my son’s birthday in advance. Check our Mario Birthday Theme here

Still wasn’t feeling well on the day of the field trip + I have a stiff neck pa, but still I accompanied my son. #momsduty Assembly time is 5:30AM and Departure time is 6AM but we left passed 6AM and arrived at Ocean Adventure before 10AM.

A few minutes before we reached the OA, I was surprised when the tour guide said “Let us sing happy birthday to Ethan”. Maybe the teacher remembered his birthday. Something memorable for my son.

I received the ticket and I noticed that the rate is different, I paid P550 before but for educational field trip, the price is only P390.

We went to the Walk on Wide Side Show.

Then Balancing Act with the African Acrobats

We had lunch after the two shows and went back at 12:30nn for Dolphin Tales. We knew that one dolphin named Tonka in marine park died just recently so bawas na yung nagshow.

We did not finish the Dolphin Show because we went to Sea Lion Marine Patrol already so we can have a good seat. For the last three shows kasi lagi panget pwesto namin. Kung hindi sa likod nasa gilid. Lol If you still remember my post about OA, Sea Lion Show is our favorite show.

It was funny because whenever we watch the show, it seems na first time pa rin sa aking anak because in reality, wala naman nagbago sa show. It is the same show that we have watched last February. I was already tired after watching the four shows but we still have to go to Duty Free Shops.

Our last stop is San Guillermo Church in Bacolor Pampanga. Honestly, I have no idea about the church so I have to google it. According to wikipedia, “The church was originally constructed by the Augustinian Friars in 1576. In 1880, the church was destroyed by an earthquake only to be rebuilt by Fr. Eugenio Alvarez in 1886. On September 3, 1995, lahar flow from the slopes of Mt. Pinatubo which erupted into world notice on June 15, 1991, buried the church at half its 12-m height prompting its more than 50,000 town residents to evacuate to safer grounds in resettlement areas”

In addition, this is the church where they shoot the “May Bukas Pa” teleserye, remember “Santino”

End of our field trip.

Check out our first trip in Ocean Adventure here and Zoobic Safari here.

Ocean Adventure

Ocean Adventure is just a few minutes walk from Camayan Beach Resort and if you are a hotel guest you will have unlimited access to Ocean Adventure + an additional 20% discount on your entrance ticket. Do not forget to get a form when you check in at the resort so you can avail the discount.

After swimming/resting in the resort, we went to Ocean Adventure.

From the website the entrance fee is

P550 - adults

P440 - 12 years old below

I was not expecting that my 2-year-old niece is not free of charge. She has no entrance fee in Zoobic Safari but in Ocean Adventure meron na. #lugi Good thing we have a 20% discount.

Klook.com

The entrance fee includes features shows and aquariums

1. Dolphin Friends

2. Sea Lion Marine Patrol
3. Walk on the Wild Side
4. Balancing Act with the African Acrobats
5. Ocean Discovery Aquarium
6. Seatrek

We arrived just in time for Dolphin Friends Show but unfortunately, no more seats for us so para-paraan na lang.

The next show is Sea Lion Marine Patrol. We loved this show, and this is my favorite among the four shows. Click here for the video

After the show, we returned to the resort to rest before dinner.

The following day, we watched the first show which is Walk on the Wild Side.

Then Balancing Act with the African Acrobats.

Serious sa pagvideo. :)

The last stop is Ocean Discovery Aquarium, this is only a small room, parang ilang tumbling lang nasa exit ka na. Lol.

If we still have time I wanted to stay for a few hours for Dolphin/Sea Lion Photo Encounter but we have to go back to the resort for our checkout.

Manila Ocean Park

We first visited Manila Ocean Park last February 2009, my son was only four months old during that time. I’ve been meaning to revisit the park again because of the new attractions but it never happened so I was really happy when I saw that Manila Ocean Park is included in my son’s field trip. It was our chance to visit the park again. It’s like a first-time visit for my son, for sure wala siya naalala dati. Hehehe!

Our package includes:

Oceanarium

I don’t see any major changes in the Oceanarium except in this picture. See through na kasi yung aquarium so panget na background namin. Before fishes ang background, now you can see tables and chairs.

Sharks and Ray Dry Encounter

This is one thing that I look forward to experiencing but I was disappointed because no pictures allowed and sila lang pwede magpicture, of course you have to pay. We were able to touch the stingray but no souvenir picture.

Back of the House

There is nothing special about this place, they will just inform you and show you how they maintain the aquarium, from cleaning the water, breeding the fish and others.

Jellies Exhibit

A small room where you can see different types of jellyfish.

Shark Anatomy

The last part of our itinerary is Shark Anatomy, I thought they would discuss sharks but we ended up watching a magic show.

Comparing my first and last experiences, I enjoyed the first visit because it was not crowded, and no time pressure.

Manila Ocean Park 2009

My sister decided to celebrate my nephew’s birthday in Manila Ocean Park but since my mom was here for vacation, she treated us in Manila Ocean Park. Yehey! The best things in life are free.

I’ve been to Singapore Underwater World but Manila Ocean Park is much bigger. The entrance fee is P400 for adults and P350 for kids, with no entrance fee for my four-month-old son. But I find it expensive.

We have tried 1-hour fish spa.
