Printable Learning to Trace Activity for Kids

Giving gifts to toddlers is easy because there are so many options out there, you can buy toys, books, and clothes. But because of the COVID19 virus, I am hesitant to go to the mall just to buy gifts so the majority of my gifts last Christmas were DIY. Three months ago, I prepared Alphabet Dot Marker for my godson’s birthday so last month, I prepared this Learning to Trace activity for my husband’s nephew.

To make my life easy, I just purchased this Printable Learning to Trace Activity. This is a digital file that includes AI, PDF, and PNG files. This activity is good for 3 years old and above, toddlers, Preschool, and even Kindergarten kids. Children will learn how to trace lines, shapes, and even the alphabet. The file is ready to print already so I did not change anything. I just print and laminate everything.

I remember when my son was in toddler years, I bought a lot of tracing activity books so I like this laminated version because it is not a one-time-use. Just use whiteboard markers and wipe after using. This is a nice activity especially now that most of the kids are stuck at home because of the COVID19 restrictions.

19 Activities in One Day at Kidzania Manila

Update: I've read from CNN Philippines article last July 22 that Kidzanila Manila is closing down by end of August 31, 2020 after months of shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The school year 2018-2019 is officially over so we went back to Kidzania Manila. My son got Gold Eagle Award this school year so we gave him a reward for his achievement. Hindi naman mahirap ang gusto niya, it is either one week use of gadget or Kidzania Manila lang naman pinipili niya.

He just went to Kidzania Manila last month because it is part of their School Field Trip but this is his happy place so go lang habang gusto niya. My husband even told him that he is already too old for Kidzania but he said, hanggang year 2025 pa daw siya pwede. Hehehe! Our first visit was year 2016 and this is already our 6th time in Kidzania Manila and one time in Kidzania Bangkok.

16 Activities in One Day at Kidzania Manila
12 Activities in One Day at Kidzania Manila
15 Activities in One Day at Kidzania Manila
14 Activities in One Day at Kidzania Manila

I took advantage of the FREE Adult for every 1 Child Ticket Promo so I only paid P900 during our visit. There are few changes na rin, before they will give your bracelet, boarding pass and 50 Kidzos check but this time I was surprised because they asked us if we already have an ATM. We said yes and the staff gave us 30 Kidzos only and advised us to go to Immigration Office to top up the additional 20 Kidzos.

For your information, starting May 1, 2019 they will use the ATM to add or deduct the Kidzos every activity, sort of Payroll account. Kidzos will earn 1% interest too. If you don’t have ATM yet, they will give you ATM card + 30 Kidzos but you need to activate the ATM first at the bank. Good thing we have the ATM already so we’re able to start early. It was weekday, may pasok pa siguro yung iba so ang konti lang ng tao and this time, my son was able to do 19 Activities in One Day, same experience sa Kidzania Bangkok.

19 Activities in One Day at Kidzania Manila

1. Fireman
2. Dentist
3. Bakeshop
4. Ice Cream Factory
5. Bottling Plant
6. Snack Factory
7. Climbing Building
8. BS Humanities and the Arts
9. Driving
10. Magazine Publishing Company
11. BS Health Science
12. Operating Room in the Hospital
13. Electrical Works
14. Newspaper
15. BS Business Administration
16. Tax Office
17. Hotel
18. LBC
19. Bookstore

Although this is already our 6th time in Kidzania Manila, there are still jobs that my son hasn’t tried because he doesn’t like to sing, dance, or act. He is not fond of music or sports too so hindi niya pinupuntahan yun. So ending, inuulit niya lang mga favorite niya like Fireman and Driving. He will go to factory activities for free foods and drinks like Goldilocks, Coca-Cola and Jack and Jill.

When he visited the factory, he earned an additional 2 Kidzos aside from the 4 Kidzos (Pazzport) and Salary. He took Engineering and Architecture Course at CEU last year and because of that degree, may additional Kidzos pala if he works at Bottling Plant, Car Design & Dealership, Clean Energy Center, Construction House, Cookie Factory, Home Finishing, Ice Cream Factory, Product Lab, R&D Center and Snack Factory.

+ 2 Kidzos if you have a degree
+ 2, 4 0r 6 Kidzos if you have Pazzport

When my son learned about the additional Kidzos, he attended the remaining 3 courses such as Health Sciences, Business Administration and Humanities and the Arts. You need to pass the exam to get a degree. There is a 100% sticker din sa card mo if you got a perfect score. He finished all the courses so all the jobs or activities that he will join, he will earn more Kidzos.

I told my son to go to Dentist because they were giving away FREE mouthwash so off we went to the Dental Clinic, and he got a free oral dental kit pa.

He tried the “Climbing Building” pero again, hindi na naman niya natapos hanggang dulo, give up agad siya. Sayang!

He wanted to go back to Driving but I told him, kung paulit-ulit lang siya sa mga activities. Last na namin punta yun. There are still jobs that he needs to try like in the hospital so he has no choice but to fall in line at the Operating Room in the Hospital. And he enjoyed it, ikaw na ang mag-operate ng Liver Transplant. I hope next time, he will try the Emergency Room and Baby Care Activity.

He also worked at the Magazine Publishing Company and Newspaper, you will get a print-out copy of the comics or story that you will create.

For the last activity, he worked as Electrician, computed tax at the Tax Office, prepared buffet spreads and tables at the Hotel, pick-up packages at LBC and wrote stories at the Bookstore.

And before we left, my son upgraded his passport to Honorable Citizen. We always forgot to count his stamps, good thing the staff informed him that he could upgrade na. Last time we got 36 stamps, I think 30 stamps lang naman ang need. Now we had 37 stamps na before pa siya nag-upgrade. You can only get one stamp per day pero establishment so yung iba na inuulit niya, no stamps. Yey! +6 Kidzos na siya sa mga jobs and +2 Kidzos because of the Degree.

We got FREE 3 bottles of Poten-Cee (Vitamin C Gummies) when we went there. Sana lagi may freebies sa Kidzania.

You can also buy a ticket online to save time in falling in line and to reserve a slot. Buy your ticket here.

Art Craze Paint by Number Kit Experience

Last year, I was thinking of a gift that my son would appreciate. I always follow my gift-giving philosophy so it would be easy to choose.

Something they want
Something they need
Something to wear
Something to read

I gifted him a book last year but as usual, he didn’t appreciate it that much because he is not fond of reading books unless he is the one who chose that book. Hehehe! Then I remembered that he enjoys painting, I bought his first painting kit a few years ago and the rest is history.

Craft Easy Canvas Painting Kit
Painting by Numbers
Painting at Sip & Gogh
DIY Christmas Painting

I ordered Paint by Number Kit online, this is bigger compared to his previous painting kits so he has something to do during his Christmas break. As I mentioned in my Instagram post, my number one dilemma every school break is yung favorite line ng anak ko “Mommy, I’m bored”. He is not allowed to use his gadgets every weekdays kahit school break pa  so yan lagi niya sinasabi. And I always tell him, nung bata ko hindi naman uso gadget pero hindi ako nabobored. Hehehe!

Anyway, I wrapped my gift and put it under the Christmas tree. In my mind my son will like my gift but after few days, my husband told me “Ayaw daw ni Ethan nung malaki na canvas”. Waah! My husband was browsing his Facebook newsfeed and he saw my gift online and he asked my son kung gusto niya ng ganun? My son said yes, but ayaw daw niya ng malaki at mahirap.

So nagkaproblema ko bigla and naghanap na naman ng gift. I remembered Art Craze- Paint by Numbers, I already knew this store pero malayo yung store niya sa amin. I was browsing their Instagram feed and then I saw Pikachu. My son likes Pokemon so I’m pretty sure that he will like this so I asked for the price and shipping fee.

We only have few days before Christmas so I don’t want to order online at baka 2019 ko na mareceived yung package. But since it was Christmas Season, they had booth at World Bazaar Festival. My husband asked them if the canvas is available at the Bazaar and they said yes. So after my husband got his visa, we dropped by at World Trade Center. May entrance fee siya so ako na lang bumaba and I just looked for their booth.

Unfortunately, the canvas was not available there. I was a bit disappointed kasi nagmessaged pa kami and dinayo ko pa sa World Bazaar Festival yun tapos wala. Good thing, there is another Pikachu Canvas so I bought it. The canvas is really small, I’m aware of the 10x15cm size pero iba pa rin pag nakita mo in person. Kasing laki lang ng postcard but it has easel, palette, paint brush and 8 paint colors. It has a box too so mukha ng presentable for gifts. The box has instructions too.

Painting Preparation

- moisten brushes which will be used for painting
- prepare a glass with water
- prepare newspapers and place it on the desktop where you will be painting

Start Painting

Step 1: Open the box, bring our the canvas, paint brushes, tubes of paint with numbers and wooden frame.
Step 2: Match the color with the numbers on the canvas.
Step 3: Fill in the zone one by one, or according to the sequence of the colors from light to dark. If painting a face, it is better to start with the eyes first and then the other smaller parts of the painting before doing the rest.
Step 4: Check your work and see if you missed any spot. Continue on the next number until you finish with the last color available.

My son was happy when he opened his gift and he started painting it after Christmas. He was busy for two days. Even it was just a small canvas, ang tagal din niya natapos. Once dry kasi, inulit pa niya para mas okay yung colors. After he finished this, I asked him kung gusto pa niya and he said no. Hahaha! Napagod na siya so mukhang ako na lang magpaint nung una ko na nabili.

13 Things to Do in Nuvali

Tagaytay and Nuvali are our favorite weekend escape if we have nothing to do at home. It is more or less 45 minutes of travel time from our place via SLEX. But things changed now, we rarely go to Tagaytay and Nuvali because my husband is always out of the country so most of the time, sa bahay na lang kami.

But of course, the year won’t end without visiting this place. Nuvali is a project of Ayala Land and it is their first and largest eco-city development. To be honest, parang ang sarap tumira sa Nuvali kasi halos complete na siya. There are residential communities, schools, shopping centers, business offices, recreations, and even hotels.

April 3, 2010 was our first visit to Nuvali and the rest is history. We’ve been to Nuvali for the nth already and a lot of things have changed. When we first visited, Solenad 1 pa lang, now meron ng Solenad 2 and Solenad 3. There are so many improvements, happenings, and events every month.

People love to go here and I’m one of those people who like to visit Nuvali. One reason is you can enjoy most of the amenities for FREE. Yes, there’s no entrance fee and no parking fee. If you haven’t been here. Let me share the different things that you can do in Nuvali.

THINGS TO DO IN NUVALI

1. Fish Feeding

If you have kids, go to Solenad 1 so you can enjoy fish feeding. This is the favorite activity of my son and we will never leave the place without buying fish feeds for P15. Open from 8AM to 5PM.

2. Boating

You can also ride the water taxi or taxi boat for P30 per person but there is a minimum capacity of 6 persons. It is a few minutes of joy ride. I’m not sure if the rate is still the same because we just tried this once for the experience.

3. Biking or Running

You can bring your own bike or you can rent a bike per hour (Don't forget to bring with you your repair kit because anything can happen; if you still don't have this, you may choose one here https://outdoorsly.org/best-bike-tool-kit/). Nuvali has running trails, hiking paths and off-road mountain bike trails about 35-kilometer. If you love biking, you can also enjoy Dirt Weekend. It is one of the popular activities in Nuvali since 2008 dedicated to cyclists or bikers.

4. Walking

If you love to walk and art, then you can do “Walk Your Way to Art”. There are Greenstallations with an important message about our environment around Nuvali where you can visit. It is about 2000 steps or 1.5km

“The Last Tree,” located near Solenad 1 and Two Evotech
“Flower Primitive,” located near the Lake
“Community of Creation,” located near the Lake
“Luksong Lubid,” located behind the Monochrome

5. Camp N at Nuvali

For the adventure seeker, you can visit Camp N and enjoy different activities like Aerial Walk, Zipline, Obstacle Courses and Rope Courses. Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm

6. Wakeboarding

There is Republic Wake Park in Nuvali and you don’t have to travel far to experience wakeboarding.

Operating Days; Monday - Sunday

Weekdays: Monday to Thursday
08:30am - 05:30pm
Weekends:  Friday to Sunday
08:30am - 10:00pm

7. Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary

Nuvali preserved its 17 km forest zone to allow natural habitat to grow and multiply within the area. Bird walkers or bird watchers will enjoy this place. You can see birds and you can read trivia about the birds. Don’t forget to bring your own binoculars or telescopes. The best time to do your bird watching is 6-9AM and 4-6PM to make sure that birds are not hiding from the sun.

8. Bazaar and Event

Sometimes there are bazaars, sales or events in Nuvali so make sure you are following their social media to keep you updated. Here are some of the activities that we have tried.

* Free Activity – from time to time there free activities that you can join, just like this “Every Day Earth Day”. My son had fun in painting and molding clay. He was able to take home his finished project.

* Night Sky Cinema - Nuvali offers FREE movie screening and it is called Night Sky Cinema. You can watch three movies in one night. It is free movie night, there are mats that you can use but it is first come first serve so it is better to bring your own blanket or mat.

* Magical Field of Lights - it is a Christmas light show which features hundreds of colorful lights in 3600 sq meter grass field. The area is open to the public. It is FREE and no reservation needed.

Shopaholic will enjoy Nuvali because there are several outlets that you can visit and if you are lucky some stores are on sale. You can also find Ayala Mall and Landmark at Solenad 3. S&R is nearby too.

10. Play Area

If you have kids in tow, aside from fish feeding and boating, they can also visit Kidzoona. There are free and paid activities that you can join. My son enjoyed his ride in Skidkart Circuit.

11. Picnic

As I mentioned, Nuvali offers nature amenities so there are grass fields where you can use and have a picnic with your family. Bring your own picnic mats, foods and drinks.

12. Food Trip

We always visit Nuvali for a food trip or we will just buy cakes and pastries from Contis or Purple Oven. But there are so many restaurants in Solenad 1, 2 and 3 that you can visit. Here are some restaurants that we've already tried in Nuvali, though I think some of these restaurants are already close like Tonkatsu by Terazawa and Claw Daddy.

Advent Calendar Ideas + Free Printable

I love planning so as early as September, I started preparing for the holiday. I already bought few gifts but when October came, life became pretty loaded. And because of that, I forgot about the holidays, as in wala na ko nagawa sa mga “Things to do list” ko. Then the DepEd announced for an early Christmas break, waah! Wala pa nga ko gifts for teachers and even exchange gifts. Well, I still don’t know if our school will follow it or not so saka ko na siya problemahin.

Now I’m cramming for my Advent Calendar. My son is already a tweenager so I thought he doesn’t want to do this activity anymore, pero gusto pa pala niya. So I guess I will do this every year hanggang magsawa siya.

3 Fun Family Outings to Try During Fall

Fall is a beautiful season when family members can spend time together and involve themselves in activities that help them bond. The colorful presentation of the season makes it fun to for most families. You can either choose indoor or outdoor activities, although either will provide you with the best moments.

During fall, there are lots of activities to try out that will cost you less as you enjoy the crisp, cool air. In case you decide to go for outdoor outings, here are 3 fun family outings that you should try out during this festive season.

Get Involved in Outdoor Games

Make up a list of outdoor games that your family can participate in. Try flying kites as you breathe in the fresh fall air throughout the fields. In case you don’t have a large field you can fly kites in a local park.

A great game that most kids love is playing with leaves during fall. Rake a pile of colorful leaves and let your kids jump into a pile of freshly raked autumn leaves. This boosts their energy levels and makes it more fun.

Plan and join runs and short family races for charities that are available in your local area. Running is a great exercise for your body during this festive season and also allows you to spend time with other people.

You might also decide to make up your own game and apply some creativity as you enjoy. Ask your kids which games they would love to try out.

Go for an Outdoor Adventure

You can either visit an apple orchard, sunflower or pumpkin farm or all depending on your availability. Take your kids to an orchard within your region where they will enjoy running around picking apples. You might also prefer taking them to sunflower farms to see the beautiful flowers as they bloom.

Some pumpkin farms have open autumn activities scheduled during fall. You can visit a local farm where you get to pick your pumpkins. These can also be stocked up on gourds and squash for crafts and cooking.

Attend the local pumpkin patch and spend time engaging in activities such as corn rides among others. You can also take pumpkins that you will carry back home for Halloween preparations. Locate a pumpkin patch in Escondido and have a fabulous time with your family.

Enjoy Camping

If you are a lover of camping, you can enjoy family camping moments under the beautiful fall weather.  If you have kids that are too young to go camping, find a getaway to a cabin where you will enjoy fresh air and sweet sounds of nature. Light up a bonfire with the kids and enjoy roasting marshmallows on a cool day. You can also get involved in nature walks or drive around catching a glimpse of the beautiful fall colors all around you.

With so many fall activities available, you cannot miss more than five that will make your fall memorable. From the above-mentioned activities, you can also have crafts using fallen leaves such as leaf sewing craft; make a fall wreath that you can hang on your front door among others.

14 Activities in One Day at Kidzania Manila

Update: I read from CNN Philippines article last July 22 that Kidzania Manila is closing down by end of August 31, 2020 after months of shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

My aunt-in-law’s family was back in the Philippines last May, it’s been years since their last visit here. My husband’s cousin is only 9 years old, the same age as my son so he asked his aunt if they were interested in visiting Kidzania and they said yes. So my son and I went back to Kidzania Manila to accompany them. I always pay for regular tickets but last summer, they had an ongoing promo for walk-ins so I got a 20% discount care of my Get Go Card or Mercury Drug Suki Card.

Tip: Always check their Facebook Page so you are updated in their promos.

It is no secret here that my son loves Kidzania, this is our fourth visit to Kidzania Manila and we had just visited Kidzania Bangkok last April but there are still a lot of activities that he hasn’t tried. If Kidzania is just so near, I will avail of their UnliPazz last summer vacation. My son wanted din na sa Kidzania Field Trip nila. Hindi niya favorite noh? They were able to do 14 activities during their visit.

14 Activities in One Day at Kidzania Manila

Watch the video here.

1. Job at National Bookstore
2. Job at Healthy Options
3. Job at Mercury Drug
4. Pit Crew Training
5. Burger Shop
6. Jack n Jill
7. Cooking School
8. Century Tuna Marine Research Lab
9. CSI
10. Pilot
11. Driving Lessons
12. Driving Test
13. BS Engineering and Architecture
14. Window Washing

The new activities that he tried; jobs at National Bookstore and Century Tuna Marine Research Lab. He went to Healthy Options and Mercury Drug before but when he went back, he got a new job. For Jack n Jill and Cooking School, they prepare a new snack. So it is okay to revisit establishment so you can try different jobs that they offer.

My son went to Driving School again because his Driver’s License had already expired, when he first took the Driving Test, it was only a written exam but now, may practical exam na rin sila. Hehehe! There is a separate car for the driving test. I hope there is a monitor at the Aviation so we can watch the kids just like in Kidzania Bangkok.

My son took BS Engineering and Architecture lessons but after getting his degree, his last job was Window Washer. Hehehe! That was the last activity na pasok pa sa time before the closing. We still have a long list of activities so I’m definitely sure that we will visit again. Other courses are Business Administration, Health Sciences, and Humanities and Arts.

Day 3: Kidzania Bangkok

Just like other theme parks, Kidzania has several branches around the world. During our third visit to Kidzania Manila, I’ve learned that there are 26 branches worldwide so I guess it is very impossible to visit them all before my son hits 15 years old. We’re supposed to visit Kidzania Japan and Kidzania Singapore during our past travels but we were not able to make it due to limited time. Of course, the entrance fee is not cheap so we want to allot one whole day.

Kidzania is an educational theme park where kids can experience how to work. My son loves visiting this theme park so when I learned that there is Kidzania in Bangkok, I immediately added this to our itinerary. The entrance fee is expensive compared to Kidzania Manila, good thing I got a discount at Klook. I purchased 1 Adult and 1 Child ticket for P2349 or $45.01.

Toddlers (2-3) P1150 to P833
Child (4-14) P1916 to P1433
Adult (15+) P1150 to P916

If you haven’t tried Klook, use this link to get discount on your first purchase. Unlike the Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World ticket, Kidzania Bangkok offers full refund if cancellations are made 24 hours prior to the activity.

Read: Where to Buy Discounted Tickets for your Next Travel Adventures

If our trip falls on weekends, I would book those days because we can stay from 10:30 to 8:30. Mas sulit yung bayad namin sa ticket but unfortunately, we don’t have available weekends so I just booked a weekday trip from 10 - 5PM. Kidzania Bangkok is located inside Siam Paragon Shopping Mall so commuting is not a problem.

How to Get to Kidzania Bangkok

From our hotel, we just went to BTS Skytrain Asok Station and got off at BTS Siam Station (4 stations). Take Exit No. 5, walk to Siam Paragon Complex, and go straight to 5th floor. You won’t get lost because you can see the Air Asia Airplane outside.

Side story: I only have one picture during our Kidzania visit. Prior to our trip, my husband bought a phone so we could purchase a Sim card to save money. So I used that phone for our group picture and when my camera ran out of battery.

The following day, I wanted to save our pictures and videos but I couldn’t open the phone, only to find out that my son changed the password before he slept and he forgot the password. Waah! So my husband just resets the phone so all the pictures and videos were gone. Huhuhu! Good thing that I sent the photo to my husband to inform him that we arrived in Kidzania.

Moving on, upon arrival, I just showed my printed voucher and the staff gave us the map, check, and of course the wristband. What is nice about Kidzania Bangkok is you can go there any time because the staff can speak English, unlike in Kidzania Japan there is only one day for English. If I remember it right, every Wednesday lang yun. What I don’t like is they don’t have PAZZPORT, sayang yung stamps, and Kidzos discount. My son was able to do 19 Activities in one day so we were exhausted after our visit.

19 Activities in One Day at Kidzania Bangkok

1. Milk Factory
2. Peanut Factory
3. Bottling Plant
4. Green Tea Factory

Since we’ve been to Kidzania Manila thrice, I told my son to try those activities that are not available in Manila. Of course, we went to establishments with free foods and drinks like the Milk Factory, Peanut Factory, Bottling Plant, Green Tea Factory, Water Research Center, Ketchup Factory, Culinary School and Hamburger Shop so we could save money. Hehehe!

My son worked at the Vault, he delivered and learned about money. He also worked the Urban Tomato Farm where he picked tomatoes and delivered it to Ketchup Factory. He also learned how to make a paint and designed a room at Colour Design Studio. If you want to get a Driver’s License, you need to pass an eye exam test first. We did not try this anymore but my son just worked at the Eye Care Center.

I like the Construction Site here because my son was able to operate a machine. My son went to Pilot Training Facility and he said, the experience is different from Manila I was able to see him too because there is a monitor outside. For Photo Studio, my son got an ID after the photography training. Other jobs that he tried are CSI, Gas Station, Convenience Store and Car Design.

There are shows too like Magic Show, Fashion Show, and Theater Show but we were not able to watch them because we were busy looking for work. Other attractions that you can visit are Madame Tussauds and Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World. Book your ticket here to get discount
