Christmas is fast approaching. Have you started your holiday shopping? Well, it’s never too early to start buying your holiday gifts, especially now that we still have the COVID19 scare. It is a little bit hard to buy gifts in the mall so it is better to take advantage of the biggest sale every year such as the 11.11 Sale and Black Friday Sale. 

There are so many different skincare products out there and it seems like there is a new one coming out every single day. However, you don't need even half of them to enjoy good skin; all you need is a handful of products to have smooth and supple skin all year long. Once you have your essentials, all you need to know is how to use them properly in order to avoid bad habits that could damage your skin. Here are some of the skincare products everyone should have in their collection. 

Dry, cracked, or chapped lips is my common dilemma since I was young so I seldom wear lipstick because it doesn’t look good on my chapped lips. I prefer to put lip balm on my lips to keep it moisturize but to be honest, I am also lazy in applying it especially now that I’m just stuck at home. I know that in order to avoid cracked lips, we need to exfoliate, hydrate and moisturize our lips. 

Buying gifts for my husband is always my dilemma because he already got everything when he married me. Hehehe! Just like my son, my usual gifts to him are “something he wants, something he needs, something to wear and something to read”. Sometimes I asked for his wishlist (yung afford ko lang, lol) but most of the time, he will just say “surprise me”. 

Eleven days to go and the first quarter of the year 2019 is over, time flies really fast. Few more days na lang, tapos na rin Recognition practice ng aking anak and finally summer vacation na. But before that let me share with you my  Althea Korea Ber-Months Haul. Three months ago na yata since my last post about beauty products, nalibang masyado sa food and travel post.

Anyway, last October I started buying my Christmas Gifts and some of my gifts came from Althea Korea. I love Korean products so why not, ipang-gift di ba? I bought The Faceshop Herb Day Cleansing 365 Foam Lemon last year and I liked the product. I said before that it will really last and until now hindi pa rin ubos ni hubby yung cleansing foam so naisip ko pwede pang-gift. All year-round nila magagamit.

Lasy July, I bought the Innisfree Camellia Essential Shampoo and I find it expensive for P290 (300ml) but after one month of using it, there is a significant improvement on my hair so bago pa maubos, bumili na ko. Unfortunately, it is not available of the day of my purchase so I settled for Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo P380 (300ml). Waah! Mas napamahal pa ako.


Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo is a sebum-control shampoo with a combination of Jeju Green Tea and Mint extracts. And because of the formulation, it will make you feel refresh after using. It is silicone-free so expect that your scalp and hair will not dry out. I like this shampoo but it is more expensive so I will go back to Innisfree Camellia Essential Shampoo.


I’m starting to love Laneige products so when I saw the 15% off of Laneige last October, I bought Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. I always have dry and chapped lips but I’m lazy to apply lip balm so I want to try this Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. It promised that it will soothe, soften and smoothen your lips. There is no significant effect after my first use and minsan nakakalimutan ko rin maglagay, so I’m not sure if I will repurchase this again. There are four fragrances that you can choose from, I chose Sweet Vanilla. Other variants are Sweet Berry Complex, Sweet Citrus, Citrus Green Fruity.

November came and paubos na ang ibang Korean Products ko so I ordered a face mask, eye cream, nose pack, mascara, and bubble maker. Boomdeahdah Everyday Mask Set and Missha the Style 4D Mascara are some old favorites.


I’ve been seeing a lot of good reviews about Mediheal mask so I bought Vita Lightbeam Essential Mask EX. This mask will soothe, pamper and brighten your skin complexion. The price is a little bit expensive compared to the other masks that I have tried but I love this. Actually, I repurchased this mask but I was surprised na may limit to one piece lang. Wow, bawal maghoard. I hope next time may promo ulit na 6 pieces/set.


I already have an eye cream and okay naman siya but I decided to try a new brand so I bought Elizavecca Gold CF-Nest White Bomb Eye Cream. What nice about this product is you can also use this in your forehead and smile lines, so multi-purpose din siya.

If you are familiar with Snail White Whipp Soap na marami foam sa face, nagtrending siya last year but I haven’t tried it yet. I bought Bubble Maker na lang so I can put my soap inside, for P50 only. It makes my life easier, sabay na lang pagsabon at pagscrub. Sometimes this is out of stock, so hoard na rin na good for one year.


I bought the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Nose Pack for my husband pero hindi pa niya ginagamit. I will update this post after trying it.

I’m part of Althea Angels and I received Christmas Shopping Rewards last December. Yey,  so before the year ends, I purchased my last Althea Korea Box for the year 2018. I bought Pobling Ion Applicator, Laneige Mini Sleeping Mask Set + Basic Sample Kit, Laneige Essential Therapy Cleaning, CP-1Premium Silk Ampoule, and an old favorite Calmia Oatmeal Therapy Cleansing Tissue.

Laneige Sleeping Mask is one of my Top 10 Favorite Products from Althea Korea site so I took advantage of the sleeping mask set and sample kit so I can try other variants of sleeping masks. I haven’t use the other masks but I’m planning to bring them on my future travels.

I love Laneige brand so even it is expensive, I’m still trying one product at a time and my new favorite is Laneige Essential Power Skin Refiner. I stopped using my toner and started using Essential Power Skin Refiner. It is different from other toners because the formula is thicker so it moisturizes and hydrates your skin down to deep layers.


 After using it for a few months, I can really see the improvement in my skin texture, fewer pores, bright complexion, and feeling ko ang soft ng skin ko. I don’t use cream anymore, since I always stay at home, ito lang gamit ko day and night. I use sunscreen and primer if I’m going out and pag night time, sometimes I add a sleeping mask, Vitamin C- Essence, or face mask.

I haven’t use the other products, I will just update this post next time. I still have two remaining boxes this year that I need to unbox. Naghoard na at matatagalan na naman ang next order ko.

As months go by, Althea keeps on increasing their product line so aside from skincare products they are now offering a body mist. Althea collaborated with Kurniaty Kamalia or Titi Kamal, a popular actress and singer in Jakarta, Indonesia. A fashion and beauty icon that is best identified by her long, straight and black hair.

Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist is the collaboration fragrance of Althea and Titi Kamal. It is a lightweight body fragrance that has a fruity and floral scent. A concoction of orange, peach, and rose which is Titi Kamal’s favorite scents.

I remember when I was still in college years, this is one of the trends. Uso yung floral and fruity scent and I used to buy body mist too. From time to time I also received body mist if I have relatives coming from abroad. But when I started working, my preference changed so I stopped buying body mist.


A few weeks ago, I received Althea Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist, at first I was hesitant to try it because I’m not really into floral scent. Feeling ko baka masakit sa ilong, baka mag-amoy air freshener ako or baka mas bagay sa grandmother ang scent. But I was wrong, I like the combination of the rose, peach and orange.

Key Ingredients 

Damask rose water - keeps the skin hydrated and gives a gentle fragrance
Orange flower extract - refreshes the senses
Elderflower extract - cools and soothes the skin while giving out a feminine scent.

How to Use Althea Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist 

After taking a bath or washing the body, spray the product lightly on the body. Spray on your pulse points like throat, wrist, between breast, inside the elbows, and behind the knees. If possible, use unscented lotion so you can appreciate the scent of the body mist.

Verdict: 

As I’ve said before, I liked the scent of Althea Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist. For the first spray, the scent seems too strong but it will gradually fade away so indeed it is a lightweight body mist. It is not sticky so it is okay to spray it on your body. The body mist has a light fruity and floral scent that is not overbearing. Since this is a body mist, the scent doesn’t last that long. I think you need to spray 2-3 times a day. I used this after taking a bath and before I sleep. I like the packaging, so feminine, easy to use and you can bring it anywhere. The bottle is 100ml so you can bring it on your travel
trips.

P.S. Though I like the scent, my husband doesn't like it. Sabi niya amoy matanda daw at masakit sa ilong. So it really depends on your preference. I just told my husband na nakikiamoy lang siya so bawal magreklamo. hehehe!

If you know someone who likes the floral and fruity scent, this is a nice gift. I will purchase this when they have a 1+1 promo again. I find it expensive for P450 because it is only 100ml.

We all know that cleansing our face is very important and it should be part of our skincare regimen every single day. Sometimes using soap is not enough to remove all the dirt, make-up and other impurities on our face. So if you want to have a healthy, clear and radiant skin make sure to invest in a good cleanser.

Koreans are known for “Double-Cleansing” method because they believe that oil and water don’t really mix so you have to use an oil-based cleanser and water-based cleanser. How to use the Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser 

To remove makeup: 

Step 1: Pour an adequate amount of the product onto the palm of your hand.
Step 2: Massage the product all over your skin in circular motions to remove dirt and makeup.
Step 3: Rinse off the residue with water. You may also use a second cleanser to completely remove any residue.

To cleanse the skin:

Step 1: Dampen the skin and apply an adequate amount of the product onto the palm of your hand.
Step 2: Gently massage the product all over your skin in circular motions for 5-10 seconds before rinsing it off with water.

Verdict: 

As part of Althea Angels, I received this product few weeks ago and tried it. I like the Althea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser because the texture is not thick like oil so it is not sticky and it doesn’t leave oil residue on my face. It really cleans the face, the make-up really melts away and because of that I even use this to clean my face cushion. If you always put make-up on your face, this is a good cleanser for you, no need to buy make-up remover because this one can remove makeup and cleanse your face. It is perfect for your evening routine.

This sleeping mask is expensive for my budget but I splurged on this one and it is part of my birthday haul. I like this sleeping mask because it helps you relax before sleeping and it soothes, hydrates, moisturizes, and brightens your skin. It helps your skin to recover and repair overnight. This mask is lightweight, non-sticky, and good for all skin types.

3. Skin & Lab Dr. Vita Clinic Vita Energy Toner & Mist

I was satisfied with my Skin & Lab Vita-C Essence so I decided to check the other Skin & Lab products and I purchased the Skin & Lab Dr. Vita Clinic Vita Energy Toner & Mist. What I like about this product is you are hitting two birds in one stone, you can use it as a toner and mist. It is so easy to use and it makes your skin looks healthy and bright. It is good for all skin types.

4. Rire Pore Tightening Fresh 

While I was browsing Althea Korea site, I saw Rire Pore Tightening Fresh, this 300ml toner is only P360, it is cheaper compared to the Skin & Lab so I bought it. So far, I am satisfied with this toner and I already bought two bottles of this. This toner deep cleanses your pores, minimizes enlarged pores, control excess sebum, and doesn’t dry your skin.

5. Althea Real Fresh Skin Detoxer 

I started using Althea Real Fresh Skin Detoxer last July, it is part of my Welcome Kit at Althea Angels. I am really lazy in doing my skincare routine so I was happy to try this 10 seconds wash-off mask. I used this as my cleanser every night. This product cleanses, soothes, and protects your sensitive skin. It smooths and adds glow to your skin. It is available in two variants, Rose and Green Tea.

6. Onsaemeein Yogurt Peeling Mask 

Onsaemeein Yogurt Peeling is part of my shopping loot during my first order at Althea Korea. It was on sale at that time so I added it to my cart. I got it for P210 only. This is one of my favorites because it gently removes my dead skin cells and the scent is very light. No redness after using it.

7. The Saem Saemmul Cream Stick Blusher 

The Saem Saemmul Cream Stick Blusher was part of my Althea Korea Lazy Sunday Box. It was my first time using a cream blusher and I loved it. And because I am satisfied with the product, I also bought another color of this cream stick blusher. I like this because it is a lip and cheek tint and it doesn’t stain my finger after applying this. I have Coral and Rose Fire color.

8. Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream Ex 

This is part of my birthday haul too but I just started using it last month. Like Laneige Brand, Innisfree is on the expensive side. I’ve tried a lot of cream at Althea Korea and so far this is my favorite cream because it is lightweight and not sticky cream. I like the smell of green tea too. It makes my skin hydrated and soft.

9. Innisfree Camellia Essential Shampoo

This is the second shampoo that I tried in Althea Korea. I find it expensive for a shampoo but I still bought it. After few weeks of using it, my husband noticed my hair and he asked me what shampoo I’m using. And because of that, may kashare na ko sa shampoo ko. Hehehe! Innisfree Camellia Essential Shampoo makes my hair looks healthy and shiny. I don’t even use conditioner but this shampoo already moisturizes and conditions my hair. It is silicon-free too. I even bought Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo a few months ago but I haven’t tried it yet.

Whenever I watched YouTube videos, I always hear primer so when I saw Elizavecca Skin Liar Primer, I immediately added it to my cart. I like this primer because it smooths your skin texture, fills in pores and it has a flawless matte finish. I love the scent and the price is budget-friendly too.

It’s been more than a year since I started buying Korean Beauty Products at Althea Korea site and as time goes by, Althea is creating their own product line. It started with Althea Velvet Petal Powder, Bare Essentials Set, Real Fresh Skin Detoxer, Petal Velvet Sunaway, and now Milk Peel Cream Mask.


As part of Althea Angels, I received Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask two weeks ago, it is a gentle exfoliating mask that is good for all skin types. Not a lot of people are using an exfoliating mask, maybe because it is an additional expense to your skincare or maybe because you don’t know the reason why you need to exfoliate.

To Exfoliate or Not to Exfoliate 

The truth is we don’t need to exfoliate because our skin renews itself every month so if you are still young, you don’t need an exfoliating mask. But if you are always out and you have too much sun exposure, you need to exfoliate because sun exposure makes your skin thicker, rough, or flaky. When you hit the age 30, the renewing process of your skin begins to slow down so we need a helping hand. We need to exfoliate to help the skin remove the old, damaged, and dead skin cells and replace them with younger and healthier ones.

If you want to look young, age gracefully, and have healthy skin then you need to add Exfoliating Mask to your skincare routine. Below are the reasons why you need to exfoliate.

Why Do We Need to Exfoliate 

1. To remove dead skin cells
2. To prevent fine lines and wrinkles
3. To reduce skin pigmentation and discoloration
4. To improve the absorption of skincare products

I started using Peeling Mask last year so I’m glad when Althea Korea sent this product to me, kasi paubos na ang aking Peeling Mask. They said that it is good for daily use but personally, I don’t exfoliate my skin every day because I believe that less is more. Exfoliating too much is not good for my skin (I have psoriasis) and for your skin because if you remove too much, your skin might get irritated, red and open to contaminants or pollution.

According to my research, here is your guide on how many times you can exfoliate. But of course, it all depends on your skin so it is up to you. My skin is normal to combination but I use a peeling mask once a week or twice a month, depende sa sipag ko. Hehehe!

For sensitive skin - once or twice a week
For oily skin - up to five times a week
For normal to combination skin - up to three times a week


How to Use Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask 

Dampen the skin and apply an even layer onto the skin massaging till lather forms. Leave on for 30-60 seconds before rinsing away with lukewarm water.


Tip: After exfoliating, apply moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated, exfoliating can dry your skin and make your skin sensitive to UV rays so do not forget to apply sunscreen before going out.

What I like About Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask 

1. I like the packaging, it has a pump so it is more hygienic for me.
2. Among the Althea products, I love the scent of this Milk Peel Cream Mask. It is light and powdery, amoy baby.
3. I’m so amazed at the texture, from soft clay cream for whipped cream bubble texture. I tried some cleansing foam pero hindi naman siya nagfoam ng ganito. I want to leave it for more than 60 seconds nga sa sobrang aliw ko.
4. You can exfoliate your face in less than few minutes.
5. It makes my face looks brighter and smoother.

What I Don’t Like About Milk Peel Cream Mask 

1. I don’t know if my skin is just sensitive but there is a slight sting on my face while waiting for 30-60 seconds. Though there is no redness or rashes after using it.
2. Because of the whipped cream bubble texture, I don’t see any visible peeling or dead skin cells so feeling ko hindi ako nag-exfoliate.

I’m torn if I will purchase this product or I will stick to my Yogurt Peeling. Let's see, I will continue to use this and I will update this post after I emptied it.

I was born and raised in the Philippines so I’m getting a lot of sunshine vitamin but too much of it is not good for our skin. We all know that we need to use sunblock or sunscreen so we can protect our skin from harmful UVB and UVA rays but the majority of us forget about it. To be honest, most of us only use sunscreen or sunblock during summer, if we will swim or if we will go to the beach.

I’m guilty of this because I’m not fond of using sunscreen on my face. But I still apply it from time to time, especially if I’m going out. If you will ask my Dermatologist what do you need to take care of your skin, she will advise you to cleanse, tone, and apply sunscreen. Yes, even you are just at home, as long as there are sun rays going in your house, you need to apply sunscreen.

Why is it Important to Apply Sunscreen on Our Face? 

If you think that sunscreen or sunblock is only to protect your skin from sunburn, then you are definitely wrong. There are so many reasons why we need to apply sunscreen, especially on our face.

1. To shield against harmful UVB and UVA rays
2. To combat sunburn
3. To avoid skin cancer.
4. To slow down aging and wrinkles.
5. To prevent discolorations or brown spots
6. To prevent blotchiness

These are just a few reasons why you need to use sunscreen on your face. A lot of us don’t want to apply sunscreen because it is sticky, greasy, it leaves a white cast and the smell is not good. I’ve tried a lot of sunscreen in the past and so far I'm still looking for a good sunscreen. A few months ago I’ve bought Daily UV Protection Cream No Sebum SPF35 PA+++, it is not sticky, beige in color so it blends on my skin but I don’t like the smell.

So I was glad when Althea Korea sent me this Petal Velvet Sunaway Sunscreen Kit. Yey, Althea Korea has a new product again. I received Petal Velvet Sunaway, 3 pieces of Petal Velvet Powders in #0 (White), #23 (Beige) and Pink Lavender, and Althea Hologram Pouch. I’m using the Petal Velvet Powder #0 since last year, it is one of my Althea Korea Haul that I love.

How to Use Petal Velvet Sunaway

1. Shake the bottle well.
2. Apply an even layer on your face and allow to absorb into the skin before going out. The general rule is, apply sunscreen 30 minutes before going out into the sun.

I’ve been using this sunscreen for a week now and so far I’m satisfied, for the very first time may nagustuhan din ako na sunscreen. Why?

2. It is so easy to use and apply.
3. Even the sunscreen is white, it blends well on my skin. It does not leave a white cast.
4. It has no irritating smell.

Since last week, every morning I only use cleanser, toner, and Petal Velvet Sunaway. Yes, I stopped using my facial cream and replaced it with sunscreen so I can check if the product really works. I ordered old favorites and new K-Beauty products, this is already my 3rd bottle of Skin & Lab Dr. Vita Clinic White Vita-C Essence and Boomdeahdah Rose Body Lotion.


I am currently using The Saem Saemmul Cream Stick Blusher (Coral) and I love this so I bought the Rose variant. It adds natural shine on your face. I also love the smell of this cream stick blusher.


Innisfree is one of the popular brands in Korean Beauty Products but the price is not cheap but since I have shopping credits, I bought Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Pact, Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream EX, and Innisfree Daily UV Protection Cream No Sebum SPF35 PA+++.

The Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Pact has only white color so ending mukha ko geisha pag ginamit ko but I still use it, very light na lang ang lagay para di sobrang puti ng face ko.

The Innisfree Daily UV Protection Cream is not sticky but I don’t like the smell of this, maybe because of the packaging, parang may amoy plastic. It makes my skin a little lighter so I need to put it on my neck para pantay kulay.

The Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream Ex is a moisturizer that contains green tea from Jeju island. It is lightweight cream, not sticky and easily absorbs into the skin. I like the green tea smell and it makes my skin hydrated, soft and dewy. It also prevent moisture loss. The only thing I dislike, it makes my skin oily, I'm not sure if it is because of the weather.




I’ve been meaning to buy Laneige beauty products because I always see this brand in some Korean Drama series that I’ve watched. I only have Laneige Toner Pack which is part of my Althea Lazy Sunday Box. This brand is so expensive so I was hesitant to try but since it is my birthday month, pikit mata ko na lang binili. I’ve been using this Laneige Water Sleeping Mask since last month and I love it, sulit naman siya because it will last for a long time. You can only use this twice or thrice a week. If you want “I woke up like this” look, gamitin mo ito. Hehehe! I will try their other products if I have extra budget.


I’m not really into make-up products but I bought Marine Blue Make-up Brush Set because I realized that I only have one make-up brush at home. So I’m investing on this brush so I can learn how to apply makeup but first, aalamin ko muna kung paano gamitin yung brush.


I always use cotton pads so I bought Natural Pure Cotton but this one is so thin, mas prefer ko yung nabibili sa supermarket. I haven’t used these products pa so I will just update my post next time.
