Gong Xi Fa Cai! Chinese New Year is over and welcome to the year of the pig. We did not celebrate Chinese New Year but we had food trip last long weekend. Yes, long weekend for us because my son has no classes last February 4 so we’re free for four days. We were in Bonifacio High Street for two consecutive days so we took advantage of it and we try some restaurants na wala sa probinsiya. Hehehe!
Crystal Jade Dining IN
My sister-in-law’s family was back in the Philippines after 13 years so we had a get-together at Crystal Jade Dining IN. It was our first time to meet my husband’s nephews after they moved to New Jersey, USA. They only stayed for 2 nights in the Philippines so it was really a short visit.
My brother-in-law reserved a room at Crystal Jade Dining IN, the function room can accommodate two roundtables good for 10 persons. Crystal Jade Dining IN is a Chinese restaurant and they have 120 outlets across the globe. They’ve been in the business for more than 20 years and still continue to provide wholesome food - food that nourishes, inspires, and good for you.
We did not see the food menu except for the drinks menu and I can already tell that this restaurant is expensive. Why? Mango juice lang, PHP160 na. While waiting they served nuts. Since it was a family get-together, I did not take photos of the food but we had dim sum, soup, noodles, rice and 3 kinds of viand.
I checked their menu online and I found some of the foods that we ate, yung iba hindi ko makita sa menu. We had Yan Zhou Fried Rice, Braised Beancurd, Birthday Ee-fu noodles, Sauteed Ee-fu noodles with Wild Mushroom and Roasted Peking Duck. The food is good but it is not something that I will crave for.

Krispy Kreme
My son had no classes last February 4 and I was contemplating if we will go with hubby or not. In the end, sumama pa din kami kahit alam ko na matagal kami maghihitay. My husband has a meeting somewhere in BGC so while waiting, we ate at Krispy Kreme. They gave us free doughnuts, pansin ko lang parang lagi may free doughnuts sa branch na ito. I remembered our trip few years ago, they also gave free doughnuts habang nakapila kami.
What I don’t like in Bonifacio High Street, late mag-open ang mga stores and restaurants nila so wala talaga kami magawa ng anak ko. Two years ago, we also stayed here while waiting for my husband, he had a meeting din before our flight to Cebu. But during that time, may mga display sila but now wala. After our walking tour in BHS, we went back to Krispy Kreme and wait for the other stores na magbukas.
Pablo Cheese Tart
I love cheesecake so I like trying different kinds of cheesecake. Now, I’m addicted to Japanese Cheesecake so when we went to Bonifacio High Street, I was so glad when I saw Pablo Cheese Tart store. Finally, I can taste the famous cheese tart of Pablo. This cheesecake is not the usual cheesecake because the texture is very different.
Past 10AM, we walked to their store and I checked their products. If namamahalan na ko sa Kumori, mas mahal pa pala ang Pablo. I want to buy the Cheese Tart for P499 but I can’t because it can only be stored at room temperature for up to 6 hours, e marami pa kami lakad. So I only ordered Pablo Mini Cheese Tart (plain) so we can try it, P100 per piece. A creamy cheese tart wrapped with a crust. The tart is so delicate so and it can be broken after one bite. The tart is good and it is not sweet. I was surprised because even the crust is soft.
I also ordered Soft Serve Ice Cream in a cup with Sabrel Cheese Cookie P140. Sabrel Cheese is a parmesan cheese cookie with gouda cheese cream filling. We did not like this one, the cookie is too salty for our taste but we still eat it at mahal. Hehehe! The ice cream is just okay and I find it expensive.
Nanbantei of Tokyo
After my husband’s meeting, it was time for lunch so nagsearch pa kami ng kakainan but we ended up at Nanbantei of Tokyo. We ate here few years ago so revisited the restaurant because we missed it. The interior of the restaurant is still the same but there are few changes on their menu.
Upon seated, the staff immediately gave the menu and served complimentary veggies with sauce and hot towels. I was shocked kasi hindi pa namin nakikita menu, may appetizer na. Last time we ordered the promo meal that is good for three persons but this time no more promo meal. So we just choose from their platter meal, a choice of Yakitori Special, Best Sellers, Seafood Platter and Surf & Turf.
We chose the Best Sellers P1050, it includes Aspara Maki, Tebasaki, Pork Garlic Yaki, Shiso Maki, Negima, Corn and Poteto Maki; a total of 21 sticks. We did not order rice because of the corn and for drinks, they have complimentary hot or cold tea. They have kids meal too, you can choose Kid Chicken Yakitori P120, Kid Pork Yakitori P125, Kid Tori Kaarage P130, and Kid Ebi Tempura P160.
Before they were serving the sticks one at a time but during our last visit, one time serving na lang. I like it better para tipid na rin sa plate and hindi pabalik-balik ang staff. The service is good because we don’t have to call their attention, they will refill our water and tea without asking.
The meal is good for three but we were not able to finish it so take-out na lang yung ibang sticks. While waiting for our bill, the manager gave us a FREE Kid’s meal coupon for our next visit. And after paying our bill, the staff informed us that we have FREE California Maki on our next visit so we need to keep our receipt. Okay na sana kaso we need to revisit within 30 days. So I’m not sure if we can use it pa at ang layo ng Bonifacio High Street.

There are so many restaurants in Bonifacio High Street so marami-rami pa ang dapat ifood trip. Mas okay pala pag weekday at wala gaano tao. Care to share your favorite restaurant in BGC.

Isla Sugbu Seafood City Venice Piazza
Early this year, I blogged about Isla Sugbu Seafood City Paluto All You Can. It is a buffet restaurant in Cebu, my husband loves this restaurant so he always eats here whenever he is in the city. This is also the reason why I want to go back to Cebu so I can try this level-up Sutukil of the Cebuano. You can check my review here.
Last month, my friend messaged me and asking me about “Isla Sugbu”, her officemate stumbled upon my post and they are planning to eat here. I’ve learned from her na magkakaroon na pala Isla Sugbu Seafood City sa Venice Piazza and I was so happy. Hindi ko na pala kelangan lumipad ng Cebu para ma-try itong Seafood City.
Honestly, this type of restaurant is no longer new to us because we already have “dampa” restaurants where you can buy seafood or meat at the market and bring it to the restaurant staffs so they can cook it according to your preference. Of course, you have to pay and the fee depends on sa dami or luto na gusto mo. But I love Isla Sugbu Seafood City's concept because you can eat as much as want for a fixed price. Wala ng wet market because you can choose your seafood inside the restaurant. Indeed, you will enjoy their Paluto-All-You-Can talaga.
I told my husband about this, kaso inunahan na naman niya kami so hindi ko pa siya natry. They had Christmas lunch here last week and according to him, the set-up is the same sa Cebu. The only difference is fewer selections and mas mahal yung rate. There are fresh and live seafood, vegetables, and for the meat lover, don’t worry they have chicken and pork too.
My husband was busy eating so I only have limited photos but you can check my other post, to give you an idea kung ano pwede niyo paluto since there is no fixed menu but there are staffs that will assist you. Take note, not all foods are free or included in the buffet rate. Meron dun na may bayad din pero for sure mabubusog ka na dun sa mga free.
* All drinks, desserts, and other items labeled as PREMIUM are charged separately.

Lunch at Las Flores BGC
Las Flores which means “The Flowers” is a Spanish tapas bar restaurant located in BGC and Ortigas. I learned about this restaurant two months ago because my husband had his Despedida here. His boss ordered a lot so I was able to try the Paella Negra, may leftover. Hehehe! I did not like Paella Negra but my husband said, may isa pa na paella na masarap and masasarap din yung kinain nila so again I just took note of this restaurant.
Last week, we went to Furniture Source Philippines to buy some furniture and it was time for lunch but we could not find a restaurant that we like in Santolan Plaza. I wanted to eat buffet meals but I changed my mind kasi baka hindi rin sulit kasi late na so I suggested to my husband Las Flores so off we went to BGC.
We did not have any reservation and the place was packed so the staff informed us na wala pa sila available table sa loob so kung okay lang ba sa labas kami and we agreed. While the staff was preparing our table, may nagbill-out na so we immediately transferred. The interior of the restaurant is simple but elegant. The tables and chairs are not uniform but still looks nice.
Though my husband ate here before, hindi naman niya alam kung ano yung mga inorder ng boss niya so it feels like first time. We are having a hard time choosing so we just took advantage the lunch menu. Lunch Menu is available from Monday to Friday 11AM to 3PM, this includes one appetizer and one main dish for P595 + SC
Appetizers
Ensalada de Burrata Con Tarta de Tomate, Piñones y Pesto
Pimientos Del Padron Con Torreznos
Crema de Calabaza Asada Con Boletus y Crujiente De Wonton
Boquerones
Main Dishes
Butifarra Catalana
Chipirones Andaluza
Huevos Estrellados & Shitake Mushrooms
Gambas Al Ajillo + P95
Desserts + P120
Churros
Profiteroles
Cheesecake
Chocolatissimo
Milhojas
Apple Tatin
Tarta de Santiago
Flan
Ice Cream + P95
Vanilla
Chocolate
Milk & Ginger
Salted Caramel
Passion Fruit Sorbet
My husband and I ordered Crema de Calabaza Asada Con Boletus y Crujiente De Wonton and Boquerones for the appetizer. Butifarra Catalana and Huevos Estrellados & Shitake Mushrooms for main dishes. Churros and Cheesecake for dessert. My son cannot finish the lunch menu so we just add Chorizo P230 and extra rice P120.
The restaurant was packed but you won’t feel it so if you want some privacy, you can consider this place. This is good for couples, families, friends and even for big groups. It takes time before they serve the order so make sure that you are not that hungry when you dine here. They serve the appetizer first and complimentary chips, I was expecting for bread pero chips lang ang meron.
Crema de Calabaza Asada Con Boletus y Crujiente De Wonton or Pumpkin Soup with Shitake Mushrooms and Crispy Wonton. I’m not fond of pumpkin soup but I enjoy this one. The Boquerones is a traditional Spanish marinated anchovies, I tried it but I did not like it but my husband enjoyed this appetizer. My son loved his Chorizo or Spanish Chorizo Croquettes.
Butifarra Catalana has Catalan sausage, marbled potatoes, caramelized onions and shitake mushrooms. Huevos Estrellados & Shitake Mushrooms have fried eggs, shitake mushrooms and potatoes, the waitress asked us if i-mix na ba daw niya yung Huevos but I declined. Of course, gusto ko kuhanan ng picture. Hehehe!
While waiting for our dessert, I was surprised kasi bigla na lang may nagplay ng “Happy birthday” song. In my mind, ay may birthday celebration ngayon and mas nashock ako na sa akin pala papunta yung cake. Wow, I have no idea that my husband will surprise me. Thank you for the complimentary cake. At the same time, they served our cheesecake and churros. The churros is good for sharing, it has vanilla ice cream and chocolate dipping sauce. I like the cheesecake, I like the combination of creamy and crunchy dessert. The free chocolate cake is delicious too.
Looking at our meals, parang ang konti lang for three persons pero sobrang nabusog kami. The price is on the pricey side but we have no regrets in trying this Spanish restaurant. We enjoyed our food and service is good. For parking, they have valet parking.

Dinner at Gallery by Chele
Gallery by Chele is previously known as Gallery Vask. This fine-dining restaurant started in the year 2013 and ceased operations last January 13, 2018 for renovation. After few months of improvement, they finally opened their doors again last May 22, 2018. The restaurant has a bar, dining area, and lounge. Chef Chele Gonzales and Chef Carlo Villaflor rebranded the restaurant. Now, they are not just offering Spanish cuisine but they also use local ingredients in their menu.
Gallery Vask was part of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant for two straight years so it is no doubt that this is not an ordinary restaurant. My husband was fortunate because he was able to dine at Gallery by Chele on their second day of opening. When he went there, the restaurant was busy maybe because of some media who are doing an interview and taking pictures.
They had team dinner at Gallery by Chelle and Chef Chele Gonzales even toured them at stvdio lab. The Stvdio Lab is a test kitchen and venue for collaborators. They say that they make the restaurant looks laid-back and casual but for us, it still looks a fine dining restaurant. hehehe! The place was not crowded so you will have a privacy here, make sure that you book an appointment.
Gallery by Chele offers Three Course Tasting, Five Course Tasting, and Eight Course Tasting. You can also order from their a la carte menu. Check the rates below.
3 Course Tasting P1500

Wine Pairing P695
5 Course Tasting P1950

8 Course Tasting P2900
Cocktail Pairing P1395
Wine Pairing P1995
The menu is inclusive of 12% VAT, 10% Service Charge is not included.
At that time, they had Five Course Tasting plus additional order so I will share the menu and photos.

Beef Curry + P350 (Sweet Potato - Beef - Spices)
Sour Ribs + P1300 (Snake River Farm Wagyu - Onion - Talinum)
Dessert

When I looked at the photos, I did not see anything special. Yes, the presentation is different and the food looks new to me. So I asked my husband kung okay ba kinain niya kasi parang wala ko type except sa Main Course. He said, “Ang sarap kaya, small serving pero busog kami”. Panget picture ko kasi medyo madilim sa restaurant. He said the food and wine are excellent. Service is excellent. It was a memorable dining experience for him, every bite is a different experience.
My husband doesn’t just give an excellent grade so I was really surprised when he said “Excellent”. He always says, “Okay lang” or “Good”. Now I know why they are part of the 50 Best Restaurant in Asia. The price is steep but I will consider this for a special occasion.

Exploring The Mind Museum
My husband got two Mind Museum All Day Pass tickets after attending the Manila Mini Maker Faire. My son wanted to use the ticket immediately so I asked my husband if we could celebrate Father’s Day at Mind Museum and he agreed. My husband was teasing my son, “Happy Child’s Day” ba ngayon? Hehehe!
Our initial plan was to go to the museum before the opening so we could maximize the all day pass ticket but I changed my mind because I wanted to eat at Texas Roadhouse, so we had an early lunch before we went to the museum.
Since we only have two all day pass tickets, we purchased another ticket and we’re contemplating kung All Day Pass ba o regular ticket kasi namamahalan ko sa P750 but what if nabitin yung anak ko sa 3 hours. After few minutes, the staff offered the promo “All Day Pass Ticket + Ayala Museum for P600”. Yey! Tipid kami ng P150.
After paying, the staff gave us 1 FREE Ayala Museum ticket, 3 maps and bracelets. Wow, they improved na, 3 years ago kasi I was looking for a map and wala daw sila. Map is really important so guests can plan their trip.
We’ve been to Mind Museum 3 years ago, so you could read my first post here and watch the video here. Since this was our second visit, I will just share the improvements, changes and new experiences. I was looking for the finding fossils and hugging vest activities but they are not available na. Napalitan na siya.
Anyway, since we are late, we missed the Wild Conversations at 10:30 AM. The Mind Museum has 5 Main Galleries which is Atom, Life, Earth, Technology and Universe. There is also an outdoor Science in the Park which is beside the Jollibee.
You can also watch 3D Films and Planetarium shows. So if you are buying a regular ticket, take note of the schedule of the shows so you won’t miss it.
Our favorite gallery is the Universe, we spent most of our time here because there are three shows that we watched here, “Life: A Cosmic Story”, “Origins of Life” and “Awesome Astronomy”. While waiting for the show, my son enjoyed playing with this magnetic solar system.
There are also Mind Movers at the Atom Gallery, where we watched different Science Demos. This is fun and you can also participate in their demo. We watched 3 demos during our last visit. You can check the video here.
We also watched a show at the Earth Gallery, we only watched the “Birth Place” because we missed the “Ang Simula” shows, as in few minutes late kami. Nakalimutan ko, sayang! I’m not sure if the show is the same since we also watched “Ang Simula” during our first visit.
Our favorite in Atom Gallery is the Static Ball, I still remember my first visit, ayaw tumayo ng buhok ko sa I was glad na tumayo na siya. Hehehe! Good thing that there is already a staff who operates this exhibit.
Aside from the main galleries, there are new exhibits that we can explore such as Color Play, Cave of Tiny Secrets, Sensory Earth, Astronauts Selfie, Earthrise, Living in Space, Encounter with the Solar System and Shape Emporium. These were not available during our first visit. My son enjoyed the piano stairs.
There is “The Teenage Brain Exhibit” at the second floor which we did not visit anymore because I’m not sure if my son will like it. While waiting for the 5PM show, we had snacks at Jollibee and check the playground outside. We missed this park during our first visit kasi hindi namin alam na meron.
Then we watched the Awesome Astronomy at 5PM, I thought we are going to watch a video but I was wrong, Peder Decierdo discussed about the Astronomy, I learned about the sun, moon and stars so now when I look up the sky, I appreciate it more.
Before, they have a souvenir store as in malaki siya, we bought souvenir key chain pa nga but now closed na yung store. They just have a small kiosk before the exit door. After 6 hours, our visit is over. Then we walked fast to the parking lot so we won’t be charge for another hour. We all know that parking in BGC is so expensive, we paid P250 for 6 hours. Waah! How about you, have you visited Mind Museum?
