Traveling to the Philippines in Times of COVID19

A lot of things happened since we arrived in the Philippines and I have still a long list of things to do but for now, let me take a break. Just like that, our three months vacation in Norway has finally come to an end. We’re officially on school summer vacation but we’re stuck at home so I guess I will just spend my vacation on throwback post. Hehehe!

Read: Traveling to Norway in Times of COVID19

A month before our flight, I felt so stressed when I learned about “One Health Pass”. We need to present a negative RT-PCR or negative antigen test before our flight. And because of this, I did not pursue my travel plans, I planned to visit Finland a week before our flight to the Philippines but I stopped planning because I’m afraid that we might catch the virus and we can’t go back to the Philippines.

“1. Passenger is able to present a negative Reverse Transcription - Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test taken within 48 hours or a negative laboratory-based Antigen test taken within 24 hours, prior to departure from the country of origin.

2. Fully vaccinated and must have the following proofs of vaccination against COVID-19 recognized under existing IATF regulations;

A.World Health Organization International Certificates of Vaccination and Prophylaxis
B.VaxcertPH
C.National/state digital certificate of the foreign government which has accepted VaxCertPH under a reciprocal arrangement unless otherwise permitted by the IATF”

Instead of travel trips, I spent my time researching where we are going to take the swab test. It is not easy because there are limited options and we need to travel to Trondheim city just to take the test. The best option is to book a hotel and take the test at Trondheim Airport, Værnes. So several days before our flight, I reserved a room at Radisson Blu Hotel, Trondheim Airport for 3 people.

The following day, I felt sad and happy when I learned that we no longer need to take the swab test starting May 30, 2022. I was sad because I already booked the hotel room. I chose the guaranteed reservation rate to save money so I can no longer cancel. Huhuhu! But of course, I was happy because we were able to save money. The cost of an Antigen Test in Norway is not cheap, 995NOK per person so it is more or less PHP6K (including the forex fee of our credit card). #12Ksaving

“FULLY Vaccinated* International travelers bound to the Philippines are NO LONGER REQUIRED to undergo facility-based quarantine and EXEMPTED from PRESENTING Pre-departure COVID-19 Negative Test Result (RT-PCR/Antigen Test) as per IATF Resolution No. 168 (Effective May 30, 2022), ONLY if below conditions are met:

1. Fully vaccinated* Foreign/Filipino nationals with Booster shot** for 18 years old and above.
2. Foreign/Filipino minors aged 12-17 years old who are Fully vaccinated* AND accompanied by Fully vaccinated* with Boostered** parent(s) or guardian(s).
3. Foreign/Filipino minors aged BELOW 12 years old, regardless of their vaccination status, who are accompanied by Fully vaccinated* with Boostered** parent(s) or guardian(s).”

Traveling to the Philippines in Times COVID19

Since I don’t need any swab test results, I was able to register on One Health Pass, two days before our flight.

Travel by Boat

The day before our flight, off we went to Radisson Blu Hotel, Trondheim Airport, check-in time is still 3PM so we chose the 11:20AM Ferry Boat trip from Ørland to Trondheim. Travel time is more or less 1 hour, I like this trip because there are no other stopovers, straight na siya sa Trondheim seaport.

Just in time for lunch so we ate at Røft Rôtisseri, for the last five years I’ve been seeing this restaurant every time we are in Trondheim so finally na-try na rin namin. We just took our time eating since we did not book any train tickets yet.

Travel by Train

For our past travel trips, we always took the Flybussen Airport Express Bus to reach Trondheim Airport, Værnes but three years ago, my mom discovered that it is cheaper to take the train. Imagine 200NOK bus fare compared to 42NOK train fare so it is a really big saving. We bought the 14:17 ticket at the machine, Trondheim Central Station to Trondheim Airport.

My only concern in riding the train is the luggage, I am not that strong to carry 25kls luggage but God is so good because, at that time of our trip, the train has no stairs (it is not always like that).

Several years ago, I’ve learned that “Hell” is located in Norway and I was so curious that I wanted to visit this place. This place became a minor tourist attraction in Trondheim because of its name but the meaning of Hell is "overhang or cliff cave". It was just funny because Hell is supposed to be a hot place but here in Norway, temperatures in Hell can reach -25C during winter. The train did not stop there so I was not able to take a good picture of it. (todo zoom).

Radisson Blu Hotel, Trondheim Airport

The train stopped at the Trondheim Lufthavn or Airport so we just walked to the hotel just beside the airport. And because of the train delay, we’re just in time for the 3PM check-in and no more waiting since the room is already ready.

Travel by Plane

Since the airport is just a few minutes walks from the hotel, we checked out at the hotel, 3 hours before our flight. Start of our long journey.

Trondheim to Oslo 55 mins
Connection Time 2 hrs and 20 mins
Oslo to Doha 6 hrs and 30 mins
Connection time 2 hrs and 50 mins
Doha to Manila 9hrs and 25 mins

Trondheim to Oslo via SAS

The check-in counter is already open, the staff asked for our swab test results but I told him that we don’t need it anymore since we are already fully vaccinated. I gave him our vaccination cards and I showed him my One Health Pass but he did not mind it. He is more focused on our vaccination card information. After several minutes of checking, he finally gave us our boarding pass.

While waiting for our boarding, I checked my email and I already got the One Health Pass QR Code, except for my son (for manual verification). Norway no longer requires the wearing of face masks so we did not see anyone wearing a face mask at the airport. And for our first flight via SAS, kami lang ng anak ko nakaface mask.

Anyway, since we had a buffet breakfast at the hotel, we did not bother to eat lunch because we were still full. I was thinking that we have enough time to eat late lunch at Oslo Airport but I was wrong. Our first flight was delayed so we had no time to eat.

Oslo to Doha via Qatar Airways

Upon arrival at Oslo Airport, we immediately went to Immigration. When we reached the boarding gate, wearing of face mask is already required before boarding. The staff asked for our One Health Pass and Vaccine Certificate, but when she saw that my son has no booster shot, she asked for swab test results. I told her that we don’t need one but she was not convinced so she said, “Wait, I need to verify that”. Pero hindi ko na siya pinaalis, I showed her the screenshot of IATF travel advisory. After reading, she wrote, “Docs Ok” on our boarding passes.

Our second flight was delayed too, “hangry” na ko dito. Pero hindi ka naman makakain so waiting na lang talaga kami sa first meal sa airplane.

Onboard Menu

Hungarian Beef Stew with mashed potato and parsley, potato dill salad, bread, and very berry cheesecake
Selection of crisp, chocolate, and popcorn

I used the One Hour Complimentary Super Wifi to update my husband and check if my son has already QR Code. But no QR Code for him.

Doha to Manila

Even though our flight was delayed, we have enough time for our layover but we still immediately went to our boarding gate kasi ayaw ko ng tumayo. At Oslo Airport kasi ang tagal namin nakatayo dahil wala ng upuan. Baka delay na naman, mahirap na. Fortunately, our flight was on time.

Onboard Menu
Chunky Egg with chives and mayonaise sandwich
Herb Frittata with grilled chicken sausage, infused bread, seasonal fruits, and fruit yogurt

I took advantage of the One Hour Complimentary Super Wifi to check my email and update my husband. Unfortunately, my son has no QR Code talaga so I thought, wala rin use yung QR Code kung for manual verification yung anak. So hindi na ko nagmamadali sa paglabas kasi alam ko na mahaba ang pila.

NAIA Airport

As expected mahaba ang pila sa One Health Pass but I was glad because I was able to use my QR Code so no more long lines na. For my son, the staff just scan his bar code tapos enter-enter ng mga information and that’s it. Mabilis din sa Immigration kaso natagalan naman kami sa lugggage. Toink.

When we got out luggage, I just called my husband na pwede na niya kami sunduin. A month before our flight, my husband booked a room at Sheraton Manila Hotel so tapat lang ng NAIA 3. Actually, we can use the hotel complimentary airport shuttle pero mas prefer ni hubby na sunduin na lang kami para hindi na namin bitbit luggage sa room.

At last, after two days of traveling by land, sea, rail, and air, we're finally home just in time for my husband's birthday celebration.

Traveling to Norway in Times of COVID19

Norway was my last travel before COVID19 happened and it is funny because when the world started to open to leisure traveling, Norway is my destination again. For obvious reason, my mom lives in Norway and she can’t travel to the Philippines yet so kami na lang ang bibisita. My late sister and I were supposed to visit my mom last year but it didn’t happen because of the global pandemic and my sister passed away two years ago.

So planning this trip is bittersweet, happy because I can visit my mom after three years but sad because my eldest sister is no longer here. I’m also sad because my husband cannot join this trip. He is so busy with work that he could not afford to take a vacation leave.

For the last two years, I am patiently waiting for the opportunity to travel again so when my mom and youngest sister sent me the link that Norway is open to tourists already, it gave me hope that I can travel again. So last January, my mom sent me the documents that I need and I started getting our Vaccine Certificate, I searched how to get a Yellow Card, and other documents needed to process our Schengen Visa.

I also took note of the Travel Restrictions of Norway

* All travelers must present negative results from a PCR or an antigen test performed within 24 hours before departure.
* All travelers must take a COVID19 test on arrival.
* Travelers who are 16 yrs old above must complete a registration form before departure within 72 hours of their time of arrival.
* Face mask is recommended to wear at all public places.

Transit Through Doha

Passengers who are transiting through Doha, and not leaving the airport, are not required to present any test results or certifications above the requirements of their departure or destination country.

It took me a long time processing our visa compared to my previous experiences but as days go by, Norway is slowly lifting its restrictions. Hindi pa nga kami lumalabas ng bahay so we can pass the COVID19 test pero in the end, we did not take any test because all COVI19 entry requirements have been lifted for all travelers to Norway. Yes, no testing, no quarantining, no registration.

But I was still nervous before and during our flight, I just felt relieved when we already passed the Immigration in Norway. It is true that “There are no longer special requirements for entry into Norway due to the corona situation. The same rules as before the corona pandemic apply now.”

Traveling from Manila, Philippines to Trondheim, Norway

When we are planning for our Norway trip, I already knew that we will fly with Qatar Airways because we had a good experience last time. I’ve been checking the Clark-Trondheim-Clark flight but I don’t like the flight schedule because of the 8 hours layover in Doha, Qatar so a few days before our trip, I checked Manila-Trondheim-Manila flight and I finally changed my mind. The rate and flight schedule are better if we will fly from Manila.

Thank God, we don’t need to travel to Pampanga. We left early because I was thinking about the Friday traffic but we arrived in NAIA 3 after an hour. Himala, wala traffic, maybe because of the gas price increase.

Prior to our trip, I downloaded Qatar Airways App so I already knew the onboard menu and I was able to check in and choose seats before we went to the airport. I thought checking-in would be easy but I was wrong, ang dami pala pila. We fell in line for Vaccine Certificate Check, Visa Check, and lastly to drop off our bag and get our boarding pass.

And I don’t know if it is because of the COVID19 situation because this was the first time that the Immigration Officer asked for our Travel Insurance so it is really important to travel with insurance whether it is a mandatory requirement or not.

Manila to Doha 9hr and 45min
Connection time 3hr and 10min
Doha to Oslo 7hr and 10min
Connection time 3hr and 55min
Oslo to Trondheim 55 min

Aside from the usual Travel Kit, Qatar Airways also provided Protective Kit, this includes gloves, face mask, and hand sanitizing gel. There was no longer a paper menu, good thing I already have an idea of the onboard menu.

Manila to Doha Onboard Menu
Snacks - Chicken Fajita Breakfast - Choice of Yellow Curry Fried Rice with Bean Stew Tofu, Plain Congee, or Wild Raspberry Brioche with croissant, seasonal fresh fruit, and yogurt.

Doha to Oslo Onboard Menu
Brunch - Choice of Herbed Scrambled Egg with Chicken Sausage, Vegetable Ratatouille and Curry Chicken Rice with a bread roll and seasonal fresh fruit
Snacks - Chicken Fajita

Three years ago, Qatar Airways has FREE WIFI for 30 minutes but I was not able to connect. But with our recent trip, I was happy because I was able to use the COMPLIMENTARY ONE HOUR of SUPER WIFI during our flight to Doha and Oslo. And because of this, I can message my husband and my mom above the clouds. Qatar Airways has flight entertainment but I prefer watching the views outside of the plane. It is nice to see the take-off and touchdown of our plane.

Traveling to my mom’s place is no joke because I need to take 3 planes and 1 ferry boat so I was happy when I was able to book the shortest trip. But little did I know that this would be our longest travel experience, it took us 43 hours just to reach my mom’s place because of 2 delayed flights, missed connecting flight, and missed ferry boat trip.

It was indeed a tiring trip but I am still happy because finally, we are here in Norway. It feels good to be able to travel again and life here is back to normal; no face mask and no social distancing.

Flying Back Home

Time passes quickly and we did not notice that our two months summer vacation in Norway is already over. It also means back to school na kami and I’m not yet so ready. I’m still adjusting with my sleep and weather in the Philippines, ganun yata talaga pag tumatanda na, ang hirap mag-adjust.

Our family loves visiting Norway if airfare is not expensive mapapadalas vacation namin. Hehehe! Though we love Norway, one thing I dislike is the journey. Flying to Norway and back to the Philippines is kinda stressful because there are a lot of transfers. Halos lahat na ng mode of transportation is masasakyan mo. We rode car, ferry boat, bus and 3 planes just to go back to the Philippines.

Thursday - Ferry Boat from Ørland to Trondheim
 - Bus to Trondheim Airport
 - Flight from Trondheim to Oslo via SAS
 - Check-in at Radisson Blu Hotel Oslo Gardermoen
Friday - Flight from Oslo Norway to Doha Qatar via Qatar Airways
Saturday - Flight from Doha Qatar to Clark Philippines via Qatar Airways

Just like our experience before, we’re traveling for three days. I booked Clark-Oslo-Clark ticket only so I need to go back to Oslo. I mentioned before that there are several ways to go to Oslo but the fastest way is riding an airplane. There is a small airport in Ørland, Norway so we can take a flight from Ørland to Oslo Gardermoen via Air Leap but unfortunately, there is no flight on the day of our trip so I have no choice but to book a flight from Trondheim Airport.

Read: Oslo Central Station to Trondheim Central Station via NSB Train

My mom has no more vacation leave so I booked a flight day before our flight in Oslo. It was a holiday so the earliest ferry boat from Ørland to Trondheim is 10:30AM. Travel time is 1 hour and from the ferry boat, we went straight to Bus Station and buzzer beater kami sa 11:40AM bus departure.

My mom just dropped us at the bus station because she needs to catch the 12:10 boat departure or else 4PM na yung next trip. Bus fare is NOK180 and the bus driver said, my son is free if accompanied by 1 adult. Yey! Nakatipid ako sa fare. Travel time is more or less 30 minutes from Bus Station to Trondheim Airport.

Trondheim Airport

Trondheim is not a busy airport so check-in and security check are so fast. It only takes a few minutes and we’re ready to eat our lunch. Two years ago, we ate at Pizza Hut but we could not find the restaurant so we just ate at Ritazza which is just a few meters walk from our boarding gate We just ordered Pepperoni Pizza NOK159 and Softdrinks NOK41.

Read: Glimpse of Trondheim Airport

If in the Philippines, we need 3-4 hours allowance before our flight, here in Norway, you only need two hours before the flight. We were so early for our 4PM flight so when we went to our boarding gate, flight to Stavanger pa ang nandun but my son still waited at the gate. Nagsakayan na pasahero to Stavanger at kami lang naiwan so ang aga talaga namin.

The flight is on time and we were in Oslo Gardermoen after 55 minutes. For our past travels, SAS is always our connecting flight to Trondheim so I chose this airline when I booked our Trondheim to Oslo flight. We arrived early but the luggage was delayed, as in nag-upuan na mga tao dahil walang lumalabas na luggage. This is the reason why I decided to fly to Oslo day before our flight back to the Philippines. I don’t want delays.

After getting the luggage, my son and I went to the Radisson Blu Hotel Oslo Gardermoen. This hotel is just in front of the airport so we did not have a hard time looking for it. We stayed in Radisson Blu Hotel in Trondheim so in my mind, they have the same rate but I was wrong, ang mahal pala sa Radisson Blu Oslo Gardermoen but I have no choice so I booked. I will share our experience in a separate post.

Qatar Airways Check-in Counter

Checked-out is 12NN, so we just walked from the hotel to the airport. We’re so early for our 4:10PM flight. The check-in counter opened three hours before our flight. We took Qatar Airways on our way to Oslo Norway so I know that they are very strict with one hand-carry bag but I was surprised when the staff weighed our bag. Waah! Muntikan na ko dun, 6.9kls yung handcarry ko and we all know 7kls lang ang allowed.

Security Check: Family Lane

Security check-in is fast too because they have a separate lane for families, you need to scan first the boarding pass of the kid before the parents. We checked the Duty-Free store and bought some pasalubong, konti lang at wala naman kami space sa bag. One thing I noticed, the Freia chocolates that they are selling in the airport is King Sized 250g for NOK35 only compared to 200g in supermarket for NOK40 to NOK45, price depends on the flavor so mas mura pala sa airport.

Immigration

At the immigration, the Immigration Officer asked me how long we stayed in Norway and I said two months and then she checked our arrival date and computed our number of days. Then she said, “Oh that is correct!”. She really checked if I overstayed, I only applied for 60 days. They are really strict now compared to my previous experiences. If you remember my Biyaheng Europe post, mahigpit din yung IO.

Streets Eats

After the Immigration, there is a small Duty-Free shop and Food Trucks at Gate F. Two years ago, wala pa nito so we had lunch at Pizza Wheel. Pizza is our comfort food so we always eat pizza if we don’t know what to eat. We ordered Pepperoni Pizza NOK159 and Softdrinks NOK36.

Qatar Airways Experience

Our Clark - Doha - Oslo flight was a smooth flight so I was expecting that we will have the same experience flying back home. But our Oslo - Doha - Clark was a little bit stressful because of the waiting time. On our way to Doha and Oslo, we’re just waiting at the boarding gate before our boarding time but on our way back to Clark, the boarding gate in Oslo and Doha were still closed by the time we reached the gate. They only opened it an hour before our flight and there is seating arrangement depending on your seats or zone. It is not fun to be early because you will sit on the floor while waiting for the boarding gate to be opened.

Oslo to Clark

Oslo to Doha 6 hours and 30 minutes
Layover 2 hours and 20 minutes
Doha to Clark 8 hours and 55 minutes

Oslo to Doha

From Doha to Oslo flight, my son did not receive any flight entertainment kit so I was surprised when the staff gave one on our Oslo to Doha flight. So nakalimutan siya bigyan ng flight attendant before and we failed to ask. Sayang ang souvenir. This time, they did not give flight kit, same with my husband’s experience.

They did not give a menu so when the FA informed me about the options, chicken lang naintinidihan ko sa mga sinabi niya so for our flight puro chicken meals ang napili ko. Hehehe!

When we landed, I was expecting that we will ride a bus and train but I was happy that we just walked until we reached the Security Check-In and Boarding Gate. So it was a different experience for us. I wanted to explore the Qatar Airport but my son doesn’t like to walk anymore so we went to the boarding gate only to find out that it is still closed. There is free wifi but the signal is weak, maybe it depends on the boarding gate, dulo na yata yung Gate A.

Doha to Clark

For our Doha to Clark, there is flight kit for adult and kids, entertainment kit for my son, and menu but they forgot to give the lunch box for my son. But I asked for it, I ordered Kid’s Meal so I was expecting that they will serve Kid’s meal to my son but I don’t know what happened but we did not receive it. But anyway, they fixed everything and we got our lunch box before touchdown. It is better to be late than never.

Doha to Clark Menu

Main Meal

Appetizer: Seasonal Salad Mains: Thai Green Chicken Curry served with Jasmine Rice
Beef Strogranoff with Spatzie, Carrots and Green Beans
Egg Noodles in Chili, Ginger and Garlic Sauce with Mushroom and Tofu
Dessert: Peach Mousse Cake

Brunch

Mains: Beef Cobbler with Savoury Scone, Cheese, and Herbed Mashed Potato
Scrambled Eggs with Breakfast Sausage, Fried Potato Cubes, and Tomato Wedges
Stir Fried Egg Noodles with Mixed Vegetables
Accompaniments: Seasonal Fresh Fruit and Fruit Yogurt

Beverages

Wines: Red wine, White wine
Spirits: Gin, Whisky, Vodka
Beer: Heineken
Liqueur: Brandy, Baileys Original Irish Cream
Cold Beverages: A selection of soft drinks, ginger ale, soda water, tonic water, a selection of juices, still water
Tea and Coffee: Freshly brewed Ceylon Tea, Longjing tea, coffee

Our Qatar Airways experience varies depending on our flight, there are some flaws but overall we still enjoyed our Qatar Airways experience. I do recommend this airplane especially if you have kids in tow because they serve the kid’s meal first and they have flight entertainment kit. But don’t forget to order for your kid’s meal before your flight.

Flight and luggage were delayed so 6PM na kami nakaalis ng airport and we reached home after 3 hours and 30 minutes. Yey! We’re finally home after the long travel.

Qatar Airways Flight Experience

We all know that going to Europe is not cheap but there is nothing impossible if you want to fulfill your Europe Dream. Yes, you can still find affordable airfare to Europe especially if you are going off-peak season. When we went to Norway two years ago, there is no cheap plane ticket because we bought our ticket 5 weeks before our trip. In addition, there is no seat sale from Manila to Trondheim flight.

This year, we applied for our Schengen Visa in January and we got our visa/passport after 5 days. Then we went to the Philippine Travel Tour Expo and look for cheap airline tickets. There was seat sale but the price varies too, it depends on your travel date. Since we are leaving during summer vacation, the price is a little bit higher. We inquired for Manila - Oslo - Manila, and Clark - Oslo - Clark flight and we decided to book the latter. We only inquired at Qatar Airways and Emirates because other airlines do not offer Oslo flight. Qatar Airways is much cheaper and they also provide Free Shuttle Bus from Trinoma to Clark Airport.

Fast forward to our trip, off we went to Clark International Airport. Checking-in was smooth and the flight is on time. This was our first flight with Qatar Airways and so far we are happy with our first experience. They have free 30 minutes wi-fi but I couldn’t connect.

Clark to Oslo

Clark for Doha 10 hrs and 5 min
Layover 1h and 55 min
Doha to Oslo 6h and 45 min

Qatar Airways provided a travel kit, the kit includes socks, eye mask, earplug, toothbrush, and toothpaste. There is already a pillow, blanket, and headset on our chair. And of course, we have our own flight entertainment to keep us busy for our 10 hours flight. Aside from that, my son has his own travel kit too na wala sa Philippine Airlines or Thai Airways.

Qatar Airways provided a menu too so we know what to eat and drink. They have more options too compared to other airlines that we have tried. For our 10 hours flight, we have two meals. I appreciate the menu because it gives me an idea of what beverage is available for Economy Class flight, so hindi lang pala softdrinks or juice ang pwede. Madami naman pala choices.

Clark to Doha Menu

Main Meal

Appetizer: Macaroni Salad
Main:
Fried Milk Fish with Bistek Sauce (Steamed Rice, Pumpkin, Pak Choy and Caramelized Onion)
Grilled Chicken with Tarragon Herb Sauce (Roast Potato, sauteed green Peas, and Carrot)
Penne Pasta with Creamy Mushroom Sauce
Dessert: Jackfruit Rice Pudding

Hot Snack

Appetizer: Garbanzo salad with tomato and cucumber
Main:
Chicken Adobo with Steamed Rice (garlic, carrot)
Fried Milk Fish with Tomato Basil Sauce (buttered potato, pumpkin, and broccoli florets)
Stir-Fried Asian Style Vegetables with Glass Noodles
Dessert: Macapuno Fruit Salad

Beverages

Wines: Red wine, White wine
Spirits: Gin, Whisky, Vodka
Beer: Heineken Cognac
Liqueur: Brandy, Baileys Original Irish Cream
Cold Beverages: A selection of soft drinks, ginger ale, soda water, tonic water, a selection of juices, still water
Tea and Coffee: Freshly brewed Ceylon Tea, coffee

Child’s Meal

Before our flight, I ordered for Child’s Meal so my son has his own food. They serve the kid’s meal first and they have more foods than adults. What nice about their kid’s meal, they have their own snack box that we can take home. So if you have babies, toddlers or kids, don’t forget to pre-book child’s meal, I just modify my booking online. No extra charges for that. If you fail to order, the staff will just ask you to choose from the menu so they can serve it ahead of time pero same lang siya sa adult meal.

Hamad International Airport

After ten hours, we landed at Hamad International Airport in Doha Qatar. Disembarking is quite slow because we need to take the bus. From the time we landed, it took us more or less 30 minutes before we reach the airport building. I think we were one of the last passengers who rode the bus. It was the longest bus ride that I’ve experienced inside the airport.

Upon arrival at the airport building, we went straight to transfer gates, pag-akyat pa lang ng escalator, nandun na agad yung screening. Since we are in a hurry, we forgot that my son has 2 Tetra pack juices in his bag (from kid’s meal) and it is not allowed because the liquid content is 200ml. The airport staff said, we can drink the juice but I decided to leave it to avoid the cause of the delay. Nawalan tuloy kami ng drinks while waiting at the boarding gate. Hehehe!

Qatar Airport is beautiful, too bad that we were not able to explore the airport since we only have limited layover. They have a train inside the airport, we rode the train to reach our boarding gate. By the time that we reached the boarding gate, hindi pa man kami nakakapahinga ng matagal, boarding na agad. We took the bus again to reach the airplane, so umikot lang kami. Airplane - Bus - Train - Bus - Airplane. Sobrang bilis ng layover namin.

Doha to Oslo

Boarding is on time but the plane took off after 30 minutes, good thing that we still arrived on time at Oslo Airport and we were able to catch our train to Elverum. For our 6 hours flight, we have a travel kit again. But we did not receive any flight entertainment for my son, I don’t know if they have that since wala kasi ko nakita na binigyan na kids or I should ask for it. Anyway, they gave us again the menu and I was surprised, 2 meals pa rin sa 6 hours flight.

Doha to Oslo Menu

Light Snack
Savory Pastry Breakfast

Main

Scrambled Eggs with Breakfast Sausage (fried potato cubes and tomato wedges)
Sweet Pancakes with strawberry compote
Paratha with Pindi Chana Chole (spinach croquette)

Accompaniments

Seasonal Fresh Fruit Fruit Yogurt

Beverage: same choices

One thing I noticed, marami Filipino flight attendant sa Qatar Airways so mas masaya kasi hindi na nosebleed if we need to ask anything.
