It’s been months since our last visit to Solenad so we went there last week habang walang klase because of Nationwide Strike. We were looking for a birthday gift for my son and my son and I need a haircut, may pasok kasi siya nung nagpagupit daddy niya. After our haircut, we’re contemplating where to eat; I want to try new restaurant sana kasi nasa Solenad na kami so for sure marami na bago but my husband wanted Pepper Lunch.
On our way to Pepper Lunch, I noticed na closed na yung The Farm Organics. Ang sad naman kasi last year lang kami kumain doon tapos sarado na. Anyway, ever since we ate at Pepper Lunch, it became one of our go-to restaurants. We’ve visited different branches already such as Alabang Town Center, Shangri La, Southwoods Mall, and Solenad.
My default order is Big Ribeye Steak or Pepper Steak but starting this year, I try not to order steak para mas tipid and I can also try other dishes. I’ve tried Beef Yakinuku before and it is too sweet for my taste. Last week, we ordered Teriyaki Beef with Egg PHP330 and Meet Trio Deluxe PHP340.
Pepper Lunch meals are a little bit expensive but for me, it is worth it because they have big servings and the food tastes good. I always have a hard time finishing my order so pag kasama ko anak ko, lagi kami share. We will just order a bowl of extra rice. I like the Meat Trio Deluxe because we were able to try beef slices, hamburg and chicken steak. Para kaming nagbuffet ng anak ko. Hehehe! Next time, I will try the other Combo Specials.
P.S. One thing I like in Solenad is there is no parking fee so you can shop, eat and play without additional parking expenses. But sad to say that starting October 15, 2019, may parking fee na.
First 15 minutes FREE
Cars PHP20
Motorcycles PHP15
Overnight Parking PHP200

13 Things to Do in Nuvali
Tagaytay and Nuvali are our favorite weekend escape if we have nothing to do at home. It is more or less 45 minutes of travel time from our place via SLEX. But things changed now, we rarely go to Tagaytay and Nuvali because my husband is always out of the country so most of the time, sa bahay na lang kami.
But of course, the year won’t end without visiting this place. Nuvali is a project of Ayala Land and it is their first and largest eco-city development. To be honest, parang ang sarap tumira sa Nuvali kasi halos complete na siya. There are residential communities, schools, shopping centers, business offices, recreations, and even hotels.
April 3, 2010 was our first visit to Nuvali and the rest is history. We’ve been to Nuvali for the nth already and a lot of things have changed. When we first visited, Solenad 1 pa lang, now meron ng Solenad 2 and Solenad 3. There are so many improvements, happenings, and events every month.
People love to go here and I’m one of those people who like to visit Nuvali. One reason is you can enjoy most of the amenities for FREE. Yes, there’s no entrance fee and no parking fee. If you haven’t been here. Let me share the different things that you can do in Nuvali.
THINGS TO DO IN NUVALI
1. Fish Feeding
If you have kids, go to Solenad 1 so you can enjoy fish feeding. This is the favorite activity of my son and we will never leave the place without buying fish feeds for P15. Open from 8AM to 5PM.
2. Boating
You can also ride the water taxi or taxi boat for P30 per person but there is a minimum capacity of 6 persons. It is a few minutes of joy ride. I’m not sure if the rate is still the same because we just tried this once for the experience.
3. Biking or Running
You can bring your own bike or you can rent a bike per hour (Don't forget to bring with you your repair kit because anything can happen; if you still don't have this, you may choose one here https://outdoorsly.org/best-bike-tool-kit/). Nuvali has running trails, hiking paths and off-road mountain bike trails about 35-kilometer. If you love biking, you can also enjoy Dirt Weekend. It is one of the popular activities in Nuvali since 2008 dedicated to cyclists or bikers.
4. Walking
If you love to walk and art, then you can do “Walk Your Way to Art”. There are Greenstallations with an important message about our environment around Nuvali where you can visit. It is about 2000 steps or 1.5km

You can see birds and you can read trivia about the birds. Don’t forget to bring your own binoculars or telescopes. The best time to do your bird watching is 6-9AM and 4-6PM to make sure that birds are not hiding from the sun.
8. Bazaar and Event
Sometimes there are bazaars, sales or events in Nuvali so make sure you are following their social media to keep you updated. Here are some of the activities that we have tried.
* Free Activity – from time to time there free activities that you can join, just like this “Every Day Earth Day”. My son had fun in painting and molding clay. He was able to take home his finished project.

Lunch at The Farm Organics
Update September 30, 2019: We went to Nuvali and I noticed that this restaurant was already closed.
We went to Solenad last weekend so we can check the local products at Tienda Sa Ayala Malls. After buying some local products, we decided to have an early lunch in Nuvali. There are so many restaurants in Nuvali, you can choose from Solenad 1, 2 and 3. But since we are in Solenad 3, we checked the restaurants that we haven’t tried yet. As far as I can remember, we only tried Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar, Hokkaido Ramen Santouka and of course Kuya J.
We were looking for one restaurant so before we entered the building, we asked the guard for directions and he said “Ay sir, dun yan sa kabila, “The Farm Organics” lang nandito. So my husband and I contemplated kung lalakad pa ba kami or magFarm Organics na lang kami. Of course, tinamad na kami maglakad so we entered the building and went straight to the restaurant.
The Farm Organics
As we all know, not all products that we see in the market are all natural or organic. If we ever see natural or organic products, it is too expensive. In 2010, Tom and Tanya decided to turn their ranch into organic livestock farm and it was certified organic by the OCCP in 2011. They started selling their products in the supermarket and now they also have different restaurants where you can try their organic beef.
The Farm Organics offers certified organic grass-fed beef from their farm in Masbate. Not only that, they make sure that the ingredients that they use in their soups, salads, and dressings are fresh and high quality. They are using organic eggs too.
What is Organic?
1. Free-range or pasture-raised livestock that are antibiotic and growth hormones free. They produce organic meat poultry, eggs, and dairy.
2. Organic produce is non-genetically modified crops which are grown without pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.
We ate at “The Farm Organics” before, they have a branch in Twin Lakes Tagaytay. But at that time, we took advantage their buffet meals from 10-7PM. But here in Solenad 3 branch, I did not see the buffet package so we checked their a la carte menu.
Read: The Farm Organics Twin Lakes Tagaytay
We were still full from our binatog and corn with butter and cheese morning snack so we just ordered Farm Salad P340, 1 Local All-Natural Burger Steak P190 and 2 orders of Local All-Natural New York Steak at P490 each.
My husband and in-laws enjoyed the Farm Salad. I did not try it, alam niyo naman hindi ako mahilig sa raw vegetables. Hehehe!
My husband ordered the Burger Steak and he liked it and according to him, the burger patty is very juicy.
My son and I ordered the New York Steak, share na lang kami but when I saw the meal. Good for one person lang pala yung beef, malayo sa picture sa menu. Mas maliit in real life. Hehehe! Good thing busog pa kami sa binatog so hindi naman kami nabitin. The meal includes one cup of rice or farm bread and mushroom gravy. The steak is good, though nadisappoint lang ko sa size. My husband teased me, sana nagburger steak ka na lang. Me: Oo nga, mas mura pa. hehehe!
So if you are into, healthy living, healthy diet or looking for a new restaurant, The Farm Organics is a good try. #healthierthanmost

Tienda Sa Ayala Malls at Solenad
Last year, I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about TienDA sa Ayala Malls but it is too far from where I live. When I saw the Alabang Town Center event, I have a get-together on that date naman so hindi rin ko nakapunta. So when I saw a new post that there will be TienDA in Solenad, I immediately marked the date on my calendar. This will be the last leg of the weekend traveling market.
Nov 18-19, 2017 Abreeza Mall
Nov. 25-26 Ayala Center Cebu
Dec. 2-3 at UP Town Center
Dec. 9-10 Alabang Town Center
Dec 16-17 at Ayala Malls The 30th
Jan 20-21 Ayala Malls Solenad
TienDA sa Ayala Malls is a partnership between the Ayala Malls and Department Agriculture where you can buy fresh fruits, vegetables, and other local products from farmers and fishermen across the Philippines.
I was really curious if they are selling goods at farmgate prices, meaning mura di ba because there are no middlemen involved. So last Saturday, we were there as early as 10:30AM, according to the flyers, the event will start at 11AM but we’re glad that they are already selling their products.
So we checked the different booths, and I asked my husband if mura ba? To be honest, I don’t go to the wet market so I’m not really aware of the SRP.
Konti lang nabili namin, we bought pomelo from Davao, salted egg, corn, longganisang Lucban, and of course, we ate binatog and corn with butter and cheese. I was looking for the suman, pero wala ko nakita. Maybe, iba-iba yung seller per event.
We cooked the longganisang Lucban and surprisingly, we liked it. I knew that we tried longganisang Lucban (pasalubong) before and okay lang lasa pero yung nabili namin sa TienDA masarap so my two boys went back to TienDA just to buy the longa para makapaghoard kami at malayo ang Lucban, Quezon but unfortunately, ubos na daw. Marami din naghoard. lol
Before they left, my son ate corn with butter and cheese (new favorite niya) and they tried the Tubo (sugar cane) juice. He even told me “Mommy, sayang, you should come with us so you can taste the Tubo juice, it is good for the teeth, body and anti-aging pa”.
Me: Paano mo naman nalaman na anti-aging yun.
Ethan: I read it, it is in the cup of the juice.
We tried the pomelo and it is really good. I just bought few pieces because my husband told me, he might go to Davao so dun na lang daw siya bibili ng marami.

Lunch at Hokkaido Ramen Santouka
We were in Solenad 3 last week because I need to buy gift and cake for my son. After doing our errands, we ate lunch at Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. We are frequent visitor of Solenad Nuvali pero sa dami ng restaurant doon, hindi pa namin natry lahat. I was nursing a cold at that time so I decided to eat some ramen.
It was our first time in Hokkaido Ramen Santouka so we asked the staff for the best seller. She suggested the Shio Ramen and Spicy Miso Ramen, so we ordered 1 Santouka Set Menu F “Small Ramen and Mixed Furai and Small Rice Bowl Set” P590 and 1 Santouka Light Meals 1 “Small Ramen & Charsiu Roll Meal” P375.
The set menu includes small-size ramen, rice bowl, salad, dessert and tea. I think this is good for sharing na nga, just add one extra rice. I chose Shio Ramen while my husband chose Spicy Miso Ramen.
Shio Ramen (Salt) is white tonkotsu soup with a gentle flavor. The Spicy Miso Ramen ( Soybean paste) has three kinds of chili peppers which make the soup rich in flavor. My husband enjoyed this, flavorful nga daw. I did not try it since I’m not fond of spicy foods.
The ramen is good but their katsu set is just okay. It is a bit dry for our taste, naovercooked na siya and hindi na juicy. I like salmon and shrimp pa naman, pero dry siya. Good thing we ordered the mixed set so we were able to try the salmon, shrimp and pork or chicken katsu. Pork or chicken kasi feeling ko pork siya while si hubby chicken naman ang lasa niya. Hahaha! For katsu meal, we prefer another restaurant.

Skidkart Circuit
We were in Solenad 3 last Saturday and we saw this Skidkart Circuit and I asked my son if he likes to try it. He said yes so after eating our lunch at Kuya J Restaurant we went back to the race track.
The Skidkart Circuit is for kids and adults, prices depend on the time you choose.
P100 - 3 min
P180 - 6 min
P300 - 10 min
My son had fun in driving and drifting. It was his first time so there are times that he can’t control the speed, he slides and he bumps. Click here for the video
It was 6 minutes of happiness. Next time, I will try it too. Hehehe! So if you live in Southern Luzon, visit Nuvali and try this activity. I just wish they have a bigger race track.

Kuya J Restaurant Nuvali
It took us a while to revisit S&R Nuvali after our not-so-good experience during their opening last November. So kahit mas mahal tolgate ng S&R Alabang, doon pa rin kami but last Saturday, we paid a visit. Before doing our grocery, we dropped by Solenad 3 to have our lunch.
Just in time, Kuya J Restaurant is already open and it was their grand opening day. I told hubby, dun na tayo baka darating si Jericho Rosales. Hehehe! I have long time crush kay Jericho, as in contestant pa lang siya sa Eat Bulaga, crush ko na siya.
But unfortunately, wala si Jericho so we just browsed the menu. There are so many choices but we just chose from their House Specialties. We ordered Kare-Kare Bagnet P399, Crispy Dinuguan P195, Plain Rice Platter P120, Ice Tea Pitcher P120 and Leche Flan P50. I was happy with their price, if you will compare it to other restaurants that serve Flipino foods, affordable ang Kuya J. No service charge.
When the meals were served, I asked hubby parang ang konti ng serving, kasya ba sa tin? My husband said, kasya yan. True enough, it was enough for three people.
I was surprised to see the Crispy Dinuguan because I was expecting that it was like the crispy dinuguan of Kanin Club. I was wrong, so it is like Bagnet Dinuguan of La Finca Tagaytay. So ending puro fried pork pala lahat order namin in different sauces. hehehe!
My husband loves the Kare-Kare because you can really taste the peanut in the sauce. The sauce is thick and you know that it is made from scratch. I’m also satisfied with my Crispy Dinuguan. My son likes the bagnet of kare-kare, he likes crunchy food kasi. The Leche Flan is smooth and sweet, there is calamansi at the side, pang-alis umay siguro.
Service is also good, ang daming staff everywhere, not sure kung dahil grand opening day lang. We now have a new favorite restaurant in Nuvali. We had a free picture from the photo booth after we ate.
Update: March 2016
We went back again to Kuya J Restaurant after my son's Recognition program. We ordered Lechon Kawali P235, Adobong Pusit P270, Rice Platter P120, Pitcher of Iced Tea P120 and 2 Lechen Flan P50 each.
We're happy with our food but not with the service, I don't know why it will take them so long just to serve the leche flan, I think 15 minutes of waiting and 3 follow-ups are too much, I'm sure luto na yan.
We wanted to go home asap because my husband needs to pack his things for his Malaysia trip. My husband asked for the bill and canceled the leche flan order. We received the bill with leche flan charge, good thing dumating na rin leche flan so di na naman pinabago.
Update: September 2016
We were in Solenad 3 last Saturday, and after our haircut we ate at Kuya J again. We ordered Bagnet, Pinakbet, Leche Flan and Tablea Coffee Flan.
I thought the tablea coffee flan is like a leche flan with flavor but I was wrong, parang kakanin siya. hehehe!
Update: December 2016
Before going to S&R, we went to Kuya J for our late lunch, we ordered Crispy Dinuguan P195, Sizzling Sisig P190, Rice P35/cup and Leche Flan P50. It was our first time ordering sisig and the taste is ok. We always like the leche flan of Kuya J but last December, parang iba na taste niya. Hindi na soft and creamy, iba na kaya ang supplier?

Lunch at Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar
Last Saturday was the opening of S&R Nuvali so we decided to do our grocery there since we will be attending a party in Arcadia Paseo de Sta Rosa. But after wasting almost 2 hours in traffic and falling in line, we realized it is not worth to wait. Honestly, I’ve never experienced that long lines during Member’s Treat.
So to kill our time we went to Solenad 3, it was my first time there and I was happy because it has more stores and restaurants compared to Solenad 1 and Solenad 2. It was time for lunch, my husband suggested Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar, his officemate said na masarap daw dun.
Actually, I was hesitant at first because we will be attending a birthday party in Max’s so chicken na naman. Pero tamad na kami maghanap pa so we tried it, we were lucky that there was available table for us kahit sa labas na lang.
We browsed the menu, since the name of the restaurant is Peri-Peri chicken we ordered chicken. We ordered 3 Bahia which includes 1/4 peri-peri chicken + 1 side dish P180 + SC. There is soup and beverage all you can at P99 with a minimum food purchase of P250.
I was surprised to see the chicken kasi ang liit niya and ang dami ng java rice. I find it expensive considering the serving, rice is considered as side dish and no drinks included.
In fairness, the chicken is good, it is different from other roasted or grilled chicken that you have tasted. It is tender and flavorful. According to their website, Peri- Peri Chicken is trimmed of excess fat and marinated 24 hours using best African-Portuguese mix which is from Africa for fuller flavor, inside and out. It is spit-fired over charcoal to bring out its smoky flavor and complemented by sauces derived from Peri-Peri.
They gave us this plate of 3 sauces, I can’t remember the name of the sauces but my husband like the middle sauce. Peri Peri or Piri Piri refers to African bird’s eye chilis that they use for their sauces.

Merienda at Mama Lou’s Italian Kitchen
Two weeks ago we were in Solenad, if I remember it right I was looking for an aqua blue shirt for my son for the Olaf Party but couldn’t find anything. It was time for merienda and we saw Mama Lou’s Italian Kitchen and decided to try it.
I was browsing the menu and saw Poutine, I learned Poutine when I watched one Kris TV episode, and because I was curious I ordered it. Additional P35 for the bacon. We asked the staff “what is the best seller in their pizza?” He gave three choices and I just chose the Pizza Bianca.
While waiting they served complimentary bread + two dips which my son ate immediately.
The Pizza Bianca at P275 was just ok for us. Cream + Mozzarella + Mushroom + Bacon
I tried the Poutine and it was good for me. It was a combination of fries + gravy + bacon and cheese. The serving was too big for me so I asked for help for my husband but he didn’t like it. Mas type pa daw niya Mcdo Fries. lol
A few days after our experience, I saw some pictures on IG of some bloggers and fave nila ang Poutine and Risotto. Well, kanya kanya lang siguro panlasa. The price was reasonable, the service was good and the food satisfied our hungry tummy.

Night Sky Cinema in Nuvali
I can’t remember what year Night Sky Cinema started but I know that we wanted to try it. Unfortunately, we always have scheduled trip on showing dates so it took us so long to experience it. We’re supposed to go last November but when I’ve learned that they will show scary movies, ayawan na. Knowing me, I don’t watch horror movies. Hehehe!
We were looking for rubber mats day before the trip pero namamahalan ko sa P800 so wag na lang. We have no idea what time the movie will start but the gates will be opened at 4PM so we left the house at 2PM to avoid the traffic, so we cN secure parking slot and nice spot for the movie.
No traffic so we were there before 3PM, fortunately the gate was opened past 3PM so we went to Nuvali Fields immediately. We were able to borrow rubber mats at 4PM just leave your ID.
There were food stalls too if you want to buy food and drinks. We brought some snacks and drinks but no rice meal so we had early dinner there bago pa dumilim. My husband bought BBQ and Sisig Meal at P65.
The program started at 4:45PM and the first movie was “Rise of the Guardians”. Remember our advent calendar, we missed “Watch your favorite Christmas movie” activity so nagawa din namin. Hehehe!
We already knew the list of movies so even we already watched it, we still went to Nuvali because watching in open field and under the night sky is a different experience. Since it is December month, we brought some blankets and jackets but honestly it was not enough. Nilalamig pa rin kami, I should wear hoodie kasi nilalamig ang aking face.
We just finished the second movie which was "Home Alone" and we went home already and baka maging yelo na daw kami sa lamig. Lol The third movie was “The Holiday” so hindi na pang 6yrs old.
By the way, if you upload your pictures on Instagram and put hashtag #nuvali and #nightskycinema they will print that pictures for free. I uploaded two photos only at ang bagal ng net.
The next Night Sky Cinema is in February, I’m not sure about the date yet. Admission is free.
