Food Trip at Landers Superstore

A few months ago, we applied for Landers Membership and since then we’ve been going to Landers every month. So we shop, eat and my two boys will have their haircut. Sayang din kasi yung FREE haircut for member and PHP150 lang for non-member. Again, it is a big saving for us so doon pa lang, sulit na yung membership fee.

Read: Shopping at Landers Superstore Alabang

Last month, my husband and I went to Landers; we left past 6AM and travel time is supposed to be less than one hour but because of the traffic situation in SLEX, we arrived before 8AM. If there is no Carmageddon issue in SLEX, kahit 8AM na kami umalis sa bahay. Sad to say, we have to deal with this traffic until the last quarter of 2020.

Doppio

We’re the first customers at the parking area so naghintay lang kami sa car because 9AM pa opening. While waiting, I saw some customers na nakakapasok na sa Landers so we got off and went to the store. We can go inside na pala because their coffee shop is already open. So we went to “Doppio” and I was surprised that they have But 1 Get 1 promo for all coffee, all ice cream and all pastry products.

We ordered Chocolate Chip Muffin PHP59 and Ice Mocha Latte PHP119, so we paid PHP178 only which is good for two persons. The muffin is big so we take out the other muffin for my son. Hehehe! This is one thing I like in Landers, kasi may promo sila sa coffee shop and food central nila.

Landers Central

Aside from the coffee shop, they have food central too where you can eat pizza, pasta, chicken, hotdog, burger, fries, salad, and desserts. It is similar to S&R na self-service; you get your own drinks, condiments and clean as you go.

I noticed that every time we visit, they always have a promo. Last June, we took advantage of the “Birthday month promo” where we can buy one whole pizza for PHP400 and may hotdog promo din sila na nakalimutan ko na price. Hehehe!

So far we have tried their pizza, pasta, fries, hotdog, rice meals and others.

Shopping at Landers Superstore Alabang West

Landers Superstore is one of the membership stores here in the Philippines. So far, they only have few branches so I’m just glad that there is Landers Superstore Alabang. But it took me a long time to visit this store because…

1. I thought it is far and mahirap puntahan.
2. We have a membership at S&R so I was thinking kung need ko pa ba ng isa?
3. And I’m saving money so iwas temptation muna.

For the past two years, I did not renew our membership at S&R because nawili ako maggrocery sa Landmark - Festival Mall. But after seeing all the B1T1 deals, PHP1 products and discounts on social media, I finally suggested to my husband to visit Landers so we can check.

Good thing, umabot pa kami sa last day of their Super Crazy Store sale. We arrived around 9:20AM and mahirap na makakuha ng parking. Since it was our first time, my husband applied for a membership card. There is a promo so he paid PHP400 only instead of PHP800 membership fee.

Landers Superstore Card Benefits:
  • Access to a wide selection of top-notch local and international branded goods
  • Participation in Super Crazy Sale, Super Fuel Sale, and other promotional activities
  • Free haircut or shampoo and blow-dry services at Federal Barbers
  • Up to ₱10.00 off per liter on gasoline at any Landers Caltex stations
  • Member discount at Capital Care Pharmacy
  • Excellent food and drink choices from Landers Central, Doppio, Dough & Co.
  • Fast and easy shopping on our online store
Everything was organized so applying for the card is not difficult and may upuan pa while waiting. I noticed na maluwag naman yung store nila especially yung lobby. They have Barber Shop, Pharmacy Store and Landers Central for foods and drinks.

For grocery cart, shoppers are not allowed to get grocery carts outside the store so you have to wait for available cart. You can shop naman without cart but I doubt kung makakaya mo kasi for sure mabigat ang bitbitin mo. This is a good idea para first come, first serve talaga and walang abangan ng grocery cart sa parking. Malilimit din nila yung number of people sa loon kasi ang hirap mamili pag ang sikip.

Anyway, after getting the card our shopping begins. When I saw the long lines na umabot na ng dulo, I told my husband na pumila na siya and ako na lang nag-ikot. I haven’t explored all the aisles nga nung nakita ko na malapit na sa cashier si hubby so I stopped looking around na. Maybe next time, nabili ko naman yung nasa list ko, yung bed sheets, pillows and iron.

What I like about Landers Superstore Super Crazy Sale?

1. Very organized from parking, membership application, sa pila sa cashier.
2. I like their Surprice promo where you can buy products for PHP1 only. It depends on the day that you are going to visit and while supplies last.

June 26, 2019 - Assorted swimsuit PHP299.75
June 27, 2019 - Aquafresh Teeth Toothpaste PHP99.75

June 29, 2019 - Tide Bar PHP129.75
June 30, 2019 - M&M Peanut Choc Fun Size - P119.75

3. If it is your birth month, you can buy pizza of any flavor for PHP400.
4. Super Fuel Sale All Year Promo. You can turn your P3000 worth of shopping into more fuel discounts. Promo redemption is until Feb. 29, 2020 at any Landers-Caltex gas station.

According to our receipts, we saved a total of P6,663.38 and we got 3 Fuel Coupons. We took advantage of the birth month pizza for PHP400 at Landers Central. Sharing some of the stuff that we bought during Landers Super Crazy Sale. Yung iba, we bought it at a regular price.

Next time, I will explore the meat products section. Ito yung hindi ko gaano nacheck pero napansin ko na may mga “How to Cook” pa na information and if you love Korean BBQ, meron din sila dun. I'll go back na lang pag may budget na ulit. hehehe!

Hot Wheels Epic Race Experience

Boys love cars or should I say Hot Wheels! My son really likes Hot Wheels, it was his wish list last December 2014 and since then we’ve been collecting cars and race track.

Hot Wheels

We’ve been buying Hot Wheels toys for the last two years but I hate to admit it was only now that I’ve learned the history of Hot Wheels. For your information, Hot Wheels is a brand of 1:64, 1:43, 1:18 and 1:50 scale die-cast toy cars introduced by American toy maker Mattel in 1968.

In 1950’s, Ruth Elliot Handler, founders of Mattel, brought the now-iconic fashion doll Barbie to life. Elliot was looking to invent another toy. Something that not only would capture kid’s imagination, but ignite as well. As he went to the parking lot of Mattel, he saw a designer’s custom ‘64 El Camino and examined, “Man, those are some hot wheels!” It was the spark of inspiration that led to a line of cars with a distinctive Southern California look, fast-moving wheels and redline tires.

Akalain mo yun, matanda pa sa kin si Hot Wheels. Anyway, last year we were able to attend the Hot Wheels Race to Singapore Grand Prix at SM Southmall, it just so happened that we were in that area and we saw their booth. We bought Hot Wheels so my son can use the race track and he had a blast.

Read: Hot Wheels Race to Singapore Grand Prix

This month, I got an invite for the Hot Wheels Make it Epic Race 2016 and I was glad that we're available on that date so I said yes.

“Make it Epic” is rooted in the overall Hot Wheels brand purpose: Exhilaration and Achievement for every kid.

“Make It” is the call-to-action to all boys to show what they can do with Hot Wheels through customization and competition, through imagination and hacks, through cool cars and a daring attitude. This encourages and enables boys to experience a sense of achievement.

“Epic” is a challenge to boys to make Hot Wheels play bigger, faster, higher, cooler, louder, anywhere, anyway. It is the promise of Exhilaration.

It’s more than just a tagline, it’s a challenge. “Don’t just make it awesome, make it epic”

SM BF Parañaque South Qualifying April 16 -17, 2016

The booth is smaller compared to SM Southmall (2015) maybe because there is an event beside their booth. The setup is also different; if last year, there are ready race track that you can use, this time, you are free to build your own race track.

There is Gravity Platform that you can use to play or try your winning cars.

A living diorama is also onsite, it will give you an idea how to improve your race track at home.

My son had fun in building race tracks and playing cars in the gravity platform. So if you have kids from 3-12 years, visit SM BF Parañaque to join the Make it Epic Race. Click here for the video

How to Join:

1. Purchase at least two Hot Wheels Basic Cars from the participating store.

2. Maximum 2 trials car, the fastest speed will be recorded.
3. Top 20 (fastest speed record) will be shortlisted to join the Area Qualifying Rounds.

I suggest you go there before 3PM so you have more time to enjoy the race tracks and practice your Hot Wheels.

Yabu: The House of Katsu

Our family loves Yabu ever since we tried it in 2014, it is our go-to restaurant if we are in ATC and Southmall. If the waiting time is so long and we’re hungry, that’s the time we go to another restaurant.

My son loves Tonkatsu too, during our first visit he did not order Kid’s Katsu Set so every visit he always shared food with me. But last month, nagbago ang ihip ng hangin. He ordered his own meal.
The Kid’s Katsu Set is available for children 10 and below only at P255 per set. You can choose from Tonkatsu, Chicken Katsu, Cream Dory, and Menchi Katsu. My son ordered Tonkatsu which includes hire, potato croquette, edamame, Japanese rice, cabbage, and a bowl of fruit. Served with your choice of curry or honey mustard sauce. The potato croquette was not available kaya siguro ang daming edamame.

My son just ate the rice and katsu. Our usual order here is Rosu Katsu, we tried other sets like the Chicken and Menchi but we prefer the Rosu Katsu. We like Yabu because you can refill the rice, soup, cabbage, and fruits so sulit. The service is good too.

What’s your favorite in Yabu?

Lunch at Marciano’s

We were in SM Southmall last Saturday, it was past 1PM already and we’re still not having lunch so we look for a restaurant that was not packed. We ended up in Marciano’s, a pizza, pasta, and steak restaurant.

Only one table was occupied so we chose this table where you could see the chefs preparing and cooking your food.

Upon being seated, the staff gave us the menu, and while browsing I realized kaya pala wala gaano guests, the meal was on the pricey side. Hehehe! You need a P600-700 budget per person.

We ordered Dow Jones P1,288 + P100, it includes Italian potato wedges, roasted vegetables, US T-Bone Steak 300g and a fish fillet. We still ordered two garlic rice at P88 each cup.

Ang mahal ng garlic rice

After a few minutes, the staff went to our table and informed us that they didn’t have 300g steak, the only available was 400g. Waah! So we have to add P100 for that 100g.

The steak was tender and juicy but the taste was bland so you need to dip it in gravy in order to enjoy it. The Italian sausage was good and my son enjoyed the potato wedges + sausages. It stated on the menu that the meal is good for four people, but I think it is only good for 2-3 people. Bitin ang steak.

We’re satisfied with the food but when we received the bill, para na kaming nagbuffet sa total bill namin. Well, charged it to experience.

Lunch at Mesa Filipino Moderne

We were in Southmall last Saturday, and we had early lunch at Mesa Filipino Moderne before doing our errands. My husband suggested this restaurant because he tried it before.

This restaurant obviously serves Filipino foods such as appetizers, soups, main dishes, desserts, and specialty drinks.

We took our time browsing the menu and we ordered the Inihaw Sampler P725 + Rice P40 per cup. The sampler includes grilled chicken leg quarter, squid, pork belly, bangus belly, mussels, shrimp, and pork bbq. What I like in this sampler is the combination of chicken, pork, and seafood so you can taste different grilled food.

There is nothing special with our order since it was just grilled meat and seafood but I would definitely go back and try other food. The price is very reasonable and the service is good too. They always refill our drinks and they greet us when you enter and leave the restaurant.

They offer party packages too.

Buying Furniture at Mandaue Foam Home Store

Since March, we’ve been contemplating whether to customize the cabinet or buy a cabinet. I’ve been meaning to visit Mandaue Foam but we could not find the time and finally last Saturday we paid a visit.

Read: Shopping at Mandaue Foam Sta Rosa

The store is huge and we checked every floor looking for cabinet and drawer. Some cabinets were already sold so we settled for this one. We bought it at a regular price but I availed the Mandaue Foam Card (P500) to take advantage of the 10% discount.

The service is good and they even have softdrinks, juice and water dispenser for clients.

January 13, 2014:  Mandaue Foam Holiday Sale

I saw this Mandaue Foam Holiday Sale photo in my news feed last week so I asked my mom if she is interested to buy mattress since there’s no extra bed in my grandmother’s house where she would stay. She said yes so I informed my husband that I will go with him sa pagpapalit niya ng gulong in Alabang so I can buy mattress and pillows.

We were in Mandaue Foam last October, my mother-in-law bought buy 1 take 1 mattress P1500 and pillows P350. But it is no longer available so we bought the next size (double) for P2000. My son wanted to buy B1T1 pillows too, P300 for the smallest size and standard size is P350. They fold it so it will fit inside the car. I informed my friend about it and they bought a mattress too so if you are interested, go to Mandaue Foam and take advantage of the sale till January 6, 2014 only.

Update: July 2014: Bed and Mattress

When my son was 9 months old we decided to remove the bed frame and just place the mattress on the floor to have peace of mind that he will not fall from the bed. We’ve been sleeping on the floor for years already and I’ve been meaning to buy bed frame and mattress also. Now that my son is already five years old, I think this is the best time to be promoted. #ayawnasafloor

Last month we went to Mandaue Foam to check for bed and mattress. We checked the different design and when I saw this I was sold already. I don’t care if there’s no headboard because I wanted a bed frame with drawers to maximize the space. Since our room has limited space we can only buy queen size. (masikip na nga sa queen) For the mattress we chose Gala Bed Chiropractic, this is the description according to the Mandaue website.

Description: Incorporates the world’s most advanced spring system for added spinal support and maximum comfort.

Carry Capacity: Medium / HeavyComposition: Foam and Fabric backing with anti dust mite and anti-bacterial ticking

Height: 11½”

Mattress Layer

1. Cover – Multi-needle quilted to 28 Kg/m3 density foam and fabric backing with anti-dust mite and anti-bacterial ticking.
2. 1 – layer of 1 1/2” 35 kg/m3 high-density fire-retardant foam to add comfort.
3. Cover – Multi-needle quilted to 28 Kg/m3 density foam and fabric backing with anti-dust mite and anti-bacterial ticking.
4. 1 – layer of 3/4” 35 kg/m3 high-density fire-retardant foam to add comfort.

7. 2.3MM single wire chiro springs made of anti-rust, high carbon steel wires.

So far we are happy with our bed and mattress and the only thing I dislike is, the mattress is too heavy for me that I'm having a hard time lifting it when I'm changing the bedsheet. hehehe By the way, if you want to have an additional 10% discount you can avail of the Mandaue Foam Card. Discount applies for regular items only.
