OldTown White Coffee is a pride of Malaysia which was founded in the year 1999. They are the largest and halal-certified kopitiam restaurant chain. Kopi tiam or kopitiam means a traditional coffee shop that is mostly found in Southern Thailand, Singapore, Brunei, and Malaysia. These coffee shops offer toast or kaya plus coffee or tea. Some kopitiam in Malaysia offer extended menus where you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner meals.
Whenever my husband goes to Malaysia, he always eats at OldTown White Coffee and at the same time, he buys OldTown White Coffee instant beverage mixes. Yes, the company is not just a coffee shop but they also manufacture instant beverage mixes. It started with a desire to serve the finest coffee at home or in their 200 outlets across Asia.
OldTown White Coffee is a perfect blend of three types of coffee beans which are Arabica, Liberica, and Robusta.
OldTown White Coffee has different variants, they have Classic, Hazelnut, Less Sugar, Mocha, Cane Sugar, Coffee & Creamer, and Extra Rich. They also have OldTown White Milk Tea, Nan Yang White Coffee O with sugar added, Nan Yang White Coffee O Kosong, Black Series Coffee with sugar added and Black Series Black Coffee.
Among the flavors, we have tried the Classic, Hazelnut, Mocha and Extra Rich. Since I’m not addicted to coffee, my favorite variant is Mocha but my husband prefers the Classic one. My husband bought a lot of this coffee during his trip in Malaysia last December so this coffee was our gift to colleagues and friends.
Just this month, my husband went back to Kuala Lumpur and bought a few boxes of coffee. He also bought OldTown White Coffee Extra Rich, we haven’t tried it yet so I’ll just update this post.
So if ever you are going to Malaysia and you are a coffee lover, don’t forget to eat or drink at OldTown White Coffee shops or buy their instant beverage mixes, instant coffee, ready to drink OldTown White Coffee or even milk tea. This coffee is made from premium beans so expect that the price is not budget-friendly compared to the brands that you see in the supermarket.

There are so many hotels, hostel, AirBnB, and backpackers lodge in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia so choosing accommodation is not difficult. Two things that you should ask yourself are, “How much is my budget? and Which part of Kuala Lumpur is best for my trip”. Knowing your itinerary makes it easy for you to narrow down your choices.
You can stay in Bukit Bintang, KLCC, Chinatown, KL Sentral, Bangsar, Chow Kit, Petaling Jaya, or Subang Jaya. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is famous because of Petronas Tower so if you plan to visit the iconic tower, I suggest you stay in Bukit Bintang or KLCC area because you can visit Petronas Tower by walking.

Anyway, If you are looking for a hotel in Kuala Lumpur, check the following hotels that we have or my husband tried in the past. It ranges from budget accommodation to expensive accommodation. Checking the rates of the hotel, it is quite similar to Philippines rates so it won’t hurt your pocket unlike in other Southeast Asian countries.
1. Sky Hotel Bukit Bintang
Sky Hotel Bukit Bintang is the first hotel that we have tried in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is a budget hotel that is strategically situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city center. It is few minutes away from transportation, shopping, entertainment, and even business district.
We booked a room only package so no breakfast for us but since it has a good location, fastfood, restaurants, and even cafes are within reach. If you love street food then visit Jalan Alor where you can eat different Asian cuisines. Petronas Twin Towers, Aquaria KLCC and Menara KL Tower are also walking distances.

2. Saujana Hotel and Resort
Saujana Hotel and Resort is far from the Kuala Lumpur City center so if you are after relaxation or you just want to have a staycation then stay in this resort. It is a 5-star resort in Malaysia that is ideal for business and leisure traveler.
It sits on 160 hectares so it is really huge, a different type of resort where you can see squirrels, monitor lizards and even monkeys within the resort premises. They have golf course, swimming pool, fitness center, spa and sports area.

3. Sheraton Kuala Lumpur Hotel
Sheraton Kuala Lumpur Hotel has excellent location in KLCC because it is close to LRT, monorail stations and Petronas Twin Towers. My husband even said that he can see Petronas Towers from his room. It offers a gym, spa and an outdoor pool. My husband likes this hotel because they know how to value their loyal guests. They always upgrade his room to Club room but unfortunately, room only and no club lounge access.

Intercontinental Hotel is also located in the heart of the city so it is few minutes walk away from Petronas Twin Tower, Suria KLCC, Bukit Bintang and LRT station. They provide complimentary shuttle services for your comfort and convenience.

InterContinental Kuala Lumpur Hotel in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia and it is known for Petronas Twin Towers so if you are going to visit this city, I’m pretty sure that you won’t leave the place without visiting this skyscraper. When we first visited Kuala Lumpur, we stayed at Bukit Bintang area so we were able to visit the Twin Tower during day and night though it is a long walk from our hotel.
But there are a lot of hotels where you can stay which is just a few minutes away from Petronas Twin Towers like InterContinental Hotel. It is located in the strategic location of Jalan Ampang, it is five minutes away from Suria KLCC and Petronas Twin Towers, two minutes away from Ampang LRT station and few minutes walk from shopping centers in Bukit Bintang area. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle services around the entertainment hubs.

My husband stayed at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur hotel last week during his business trip. They had a one-day event at the said hotel. It was his first time in InterContinental hotel and according to him, you can see that the hotel is already old but clean. He likes the good service and there were so many Filipino staffs there.
The room is a little bit bigger compared to other hotels that he tried in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. This is the room.
They have coffee and tea set but it was the first time that I saw a Milk Menu. They offer a complimentary selection of milk for their guest, you can choose full milk, low-fat milk or soy milk. You can request via their Instant Service button, you can order hot or cold milk.
The bathroom has a separate shower and bathtub.
The room package includes buffet breakfast at Serena Brassiere. It provides appetizing breakfast for business and leisure travelers. It is ideal for a family too because they have a children’s corner. It serves mixed of local and international cuisines.
They have a spa, swimming pool, and fitness center for you to enjoy but because of limited time, my husband was not able to visit these facilities.

Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel in Malaysia
Whenever my husband goes to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, he always stays at Saujana Hotel and Resort because this is near his office. But last week, he stayed at Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel because he transferred to a new company. This is the 4th Sheraton Hotel that my husband tried.

If Saujana Hotel and Resort is far from the city center, Sheraton Imperial Hotel has a good location. It is known as one of the recognizable landmarks in Jalan Sultan Ismail. It is near MRT, shopping malls, business hubs, eateries, art galleries, and heritage row.
It was his first time in Sheraton Imperial Hotel so he was surprised when the hotel staff informed him that he was upgraded to Sheraton Club Room. My husband immediately asked if he has Club Lounge Access too but the staff said “Room Only”. Toinks! But at least, he was upgraded to a better room and better view.
Room and Bathroom
The room is 42sqm so it is quite big compared to other Sheraton Hotel rooms that he stayed at. He likes his room especially the comfortable bed and pillows. If you remember, natitigasan siya sa pillow sa Saujana Hotel and Resort.
There are a separate shower area and bathtub. I noticed that most of the hotels now have a glass divider na sa bathroom. Just press a button if you want to close the bathroom window.
He got complimentary chocolate too waiting at his room.
Feast; A World of Flavors
The room package includes complimentary buffet breakfast at the Feast. Indeed, it was a feast to begin your day. Just don't expect a pork dish, but they have beef and chicken sausage and beef bacon.
Breakfast Rate
Buffet breakfast: 84.00 MYR
Continental breakfast: 84.00 MYR
Full American breakfast: 58.00 MYR
This hotel has a fitness area, swimming pool, and spa.

Glimpse of Thai Royal Silk Lounge at Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
Our first airport lounge experience started last year only, we always fly economy class ticket so we always wait at the boarding gate. But there are different ways where you can access airport lounges for free or for a fee. Personally, I only experienced two airport lounges, Mabuhay Lounge in Cebu International Airport and Miascor Lounge at NAIA 1.
Read: 5 Ways to Get into Airport Lounges
But my husband experienced several airport lounges already because of his business trip. As of now, this is the 10th airport lounge that I have shared on this blog. My husband was in Malaysia and Thailand last week, so from Malaysia, he took Thai Airways airline. Though we have Royal Orchid Plus card, his points are not enough to get a free airport lounge. But thanks to his boss, +1 ulit siya. Yey!
Note: You can have FREE access to THAI Royal Silk Lounge, if you flying first class or business class, if you are a premium customer of one of the 18 Star Alliance member airlines or as an elite member of their frequent flyer program
This is the Thai Royal Silk Lounge at Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, if you’ve read my previous airport lounge post, you will also notice that this lounge is bigger compared to Silver Kris Lounge. According to my husband, the lounge is big, organized and nice.
If you stay in an airport lounge, you can eat and drink for free, there are newspaper and magazines that you can read, you can watch TV or you can work or browse the internet using the free wifi or internet terminals.
There are a variety of hot foods and a good selection of hot and cold drinks. The foods taste good. Yehey, for complimentary because airport foods and drinks are expensive.

Glimpse of Silver Kris Lounge in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
My husband was on business trip last week, he went to Malaysia then to Singapore. He took Singapore Airlines from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. They (Boss and hubby) had an evening flight but since they arrived early at the airport, they tried to reschedule their flight.
When my husband checked his reservation, he was surprised because he was on waiting list on his original flight. That was his first time to experience it, so totoo pala yung mga naooverbooked? Good thing they arrived early and his boss was able to reschedule their flight without a fee. What if hindi, naiwan pa asawa ko sa airport?
Thanks to his boss again, he was able to stay in Silver Kris Lounge. My husband has Silver Kris card but since he is not a frequent flyer of Singapore Airlines, he is not yet qualified for lounge access. Buti na lang +1 siya ng boss niya. The lounge is exclusive for Singapore Airlines.
The Silver Kris Lounge is just small he even compared it to the Mabuhay Lounge in Cebu International Airport. But nothing to complain because this is better than staying at the boarding gate. They have comfortable seats, complimentary food and drinks, you can watch TV or read magazines and newspapers.
He already tried the Plaza Premium Lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, you can check my review here ---> Glimpse of Plaza Premium Lounge.
