Day 4 in Da Nang Vietnam

We only booked two tours for our 5 Days Trip in Da Nang Vietnam so on our fourth day, we no longer had any scheduled activity and just spent our time in the hotel.

And because of the buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner na kinain namin nung third day, feeling busog pa rin kami paggising namin ng Day 4. So we had late breakfast, brunch na rin para tipid. Since late na, hindi na ko nagtake pictures ng buffet spread kasi konti na lang ang laman.

After our buffet breakfast at Table 88, we went back to our room to rest for a while before we swam. I was so thankful because, after a few days, the weather cooperated. At least we had a few hours to enjoy the swimming pool. The beach was off limits because of the rough waves so nagkayak na lang sa pool. The kayak is not free but I can’t remember the rate.

Here is the list of Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort Daily Activities. These may be subject to cancellation due to weather and sea conditions.

8:00 -9:00 - Double Kayak | Front Beach
9:00 - 10:00 - Stand Up Paddle | Front Beach
10AM - 11AM - Sailing Boat - Hobie Wave | Front Beach
16:00 -16:30 - Body Board | Front Beach
15:00 - 16:00 - Swimming Lesson | Lap Pool
6:30 - 7:00 - Morning Exercise | Front Beach
7:00 - 7:45 - Meditation | Fitness Center
8:00 - 9:00 - Basic Yoga Lesson | Fitness Center
15:00 - 15:30 - Stretching Class | Fitness Center
16:00 - 17:00 - Abs Class | Fitness Center

Then we went back to our room, our initial plan was to visit Lotte Mart so we could visit the 4th biggest shopping center in Vietnam and the biggest shopping center in Da Nang but it started to rain again so we canceled our plan.

We just ordered pizza for our late lunch. For dinner, we ordered calamari and rice. Actually, I just wanted to order rice kaso nakakahiya naman kung rice lang tapos room service pa so I added calamari na lang. The truth is, I brought some breads and Goldilocks Pinoy Deli Pouch kasi so ayaw ko na siya iuwi pa sa Pinas kaya yun ang dinner namin. Hehehe!

We slept early because we had an early flight the following day.

Day 3 in Da Nang Vietnam: Sun World Ba Na Hills Tour

I am busy crafting and planning an itinerary for my husband’s trip so I have limited time to blog. But I am taking a break so I can continue my Vietnam series.

If our second day was chill, our third day was another busy day because we had an event from morning until evening.

Buffet Breakfast at Table 88

We woke up early for our buffet breakfast, 6:30AM pa lang nasa Table 88 na kami so we had enough time to eat before our tour.

Sun World Ba Na Hills Tour

Just like our Hoi An Tour, we just joined a group tour; Ba Na Hills Tour for $70 per person. The rate is similar to Klook Ba Na Hills and Golden Bridge Day Tour from Da Nang

Ba Na Hills Tour- $70 per pax
(Included guide, transportation, lunch, entrance fee, tips)

- Golden Bridge
- International buffet lunch
- Flower Garden
- Fantasy Park
- French Village
- Wine Cellar

We were a big group divided into two, one bus and one van. For Team Philippines, we were a group of 12 so we all went to the van and left early. Travel time from Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort to Ba Na Hills is about 45 minutes. We arrived at 9:15AM but according to our tour guide, we needed to wait for the bus before we could start our tour. So we spent our time taking pictures at the Time Gate.

Time Gate

According to the flyer, Impressively designed with a moon and sun clock, the Time Gate is a skillful and subtle combination of sound with the art of performing light and water, creating a magical symbol that opens the door of time, allowing you to cross the spatial line and enter the surreal world of the Land of Giants.

We were done taking pictures but the bus was still not there. Waiting was fine at first but we waited for more than an hour. I don’t understand why they were so late when 8:30AM is the call time.

Sun World Ba Na Hills

Finally, at 10:30AM we started our tour and after walking for few minutes, pinahinto kami ng lead tour guide, just to give our tickets. Grr… Ang tagal naming naghintay doon sa nagCR, sana kanina pa siya nagdistribute ng tickets. Ang daming nasayang na oras.

On our way to the cable car, it started to rain so mas nainis ako kasi kung maaga lang sana kami nag-umpisa, okay pa ang weather, sana may picture pa kami sa taas ng Sun World Amusement Park na walang fog at rain. Anyway, kaysa masira araw ko, I have to change my perspective. Despite the undesirable situations and non-stop rain showers, at least natuloy pa rin ang trip namin.

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine. - Anthony J. D’Angelo

To be honest, I was surprised when I saw Sun World Ba Na Hills and nasabi ko na lang sa sarili, bakit wala kaya ganito sa Pilipinas. How I wish we also had this kind of amusement park, hindi lang Enchanted Kingdom.

Sun World Ba Na Hills is located on top of the hill with a height of 1,487 meters from sea level and because of that, this place is also called “heaven on earth”. This is one of the top tourist resorts in Vietnam.

World Record-Breaking Cable Car System

Their cable car is one of the world’s longest and highest cable car rides. It has 6 cable car routes and can accommodate 10,000 passengers per hour. Open from 8AM to 5PM.

Golden Bridge

We arrived at the Golden Bridge around 11AM. The Golden Bridge was opened in June 2018 and was part of the "Top 10 best destinations in the world in 2018” by TIME magazine. It is located at an altitude of 1,414 meters above sea level. It has the shape of a silk strip floating in the sky and held by the hands of the giant.

Heaven Garden

The garden keeps the marks of the Giants with the legs, hands, or even faces of the giants sleeping in peace between mountains and flowers.

Le Jardin D’Amour

9 gardens with 9 different emotions, according to legend, Le Jardin D’Amour is a place to witness the dating and marriage of the giants.

Debay Wine Cellar

A unique cellar was built by the French in 1923. The wine cellar extends 100 meters deep underground.

French Village

Travel back in time and experience the architectural attractions of the French Village.

Buffet Lunch at Arapang

We had a late lunch at Arapang Restaurant. It was around 12:30NN so the restaurant was full and it was hard to look for a vacant table. I don’t have photos of the buffet spread, but they serve international dishes. We had one hour to enjoy our buffet lunch.

The meal is part of our tour package but the rate during our visit is 300,000VND. Open from 10:30 - 3PM with 2,200 seating capacity.

Fantasy Park

Since it was raining, we just spent our time at Fantasy Park. It is an indoor entertainment with rides including a Free-fall Tower, Airborn Shot, and 3D-4D-5D Cinemas.

The tour ends around 3PM, fortunately after the cable car ride, hindi na kami naghintay sa bus passengers. Nauna ulit ang Team Philippines, pabalik sa hotel. We were in a hurry because we had dinner buffet at 6PM.

International Dinner Buffet at Table 88

The dinner starts at 6PM but we arrived at 6:30PM pero one of the early birds pa rin. I already shared our experience on this blog

Buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so kahit pagod, laban lang para sa food. Hehehe!

Day 2 in Da Nang Vietnam

This school year is about to end and it also means, vacation na naman and I am supposed to plan for our travel itinerary but here I am, tinatamad na naman mag-umpisa. Ang hilig ko lang magcram. Hehehe! Anyway, last month I finished making our Da Nang Vietnam Photobook so this reminded me that I haven’t finished my Da Nang blog posts so I am pressuring myself to finish this series na.

Day 2 in Da Nang Vietnam

We just stayed in the hotel for our second day in Da Nang, ate, and rested. We decided not to join the Hue City Tour because we wanted to rest and recharge. This was the supposed itinerary for that day. It was a whole day itinerary and binabasa ko pa lang napagod na ko. #signsofaging.

Hue City Tour - $69 per person

Inclusion: tour guide, transportation, lunch, seafood dinner, entrance fee, and tips

- Stop at Hai Van Pass, Lap An for photos
- Visit Thien Mu Pagoda; the oldest pagoda in Hue
- Visit the Imperial Citadel; one of Vietnam’s seven UNESCO World Heritage sites.
- Visit Khai Dinh King’s Tomb; the tomb of the 12th king of the Nguyen Dynasty
- Lunch and seafood dinner at a local restaurant

Buffet Breakfast at Table 88

Since we had no tour for that day, hindi kami nagmamadali na magbreakfast. In fact, late na rin kami nagpunta sa restaurant para brunch na rin. We took our time eating and we just enjoyed our food para busog kami hanggang lunch. Hehehe! Table 88 serves Banh Mi and Pho and you can enjoy this popular food every breakfast.

After breakfast, we explored the Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort & Convention Center. This resort has a 250m infinity pool and the longest pool in Da Nang. Unfortunately, because of the weather, we could not enjoy the pool. Feeling ko magkakasakit lang kami kapag nagswimming sa lamig so we just stayed in our room.

My son was busy doing his school assignments and I spent my time crafting. Yes, I brought my craft projects on our Vietnam trip so just in case wala ako gawin, magcraft na lang ako.

For dinner, my son and I decided to stay in the hotel and we just ordered food “room service” na lang. We ordered fries and pizza while my husband and his colleagues went to Hoi An again for dinner.

Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort offers a shuttle bus to Hoi An and vice versa but the schedules are limited so they travel via Grab.

Where to Stay in Da Nang Vietnam: Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort

I am about to blog about our quick getaway in Davao last year but I just realized that I haven’t finished my Vietnam series. We visited Da Nang, almost two years ago and I hope I can still remember what happened. Hehehe!

We had a 5-day trip in Vietnam and stayed at Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort. When my husband said that this would be our accommodation, I was looking forward to our trip because it is a five-star luxury resort and according to our tour guide, this is one of the best hotels in Da Nang so we would enjoy our stay.

Of course, before our trip, I already knew what to expect but when we arrived, napa-wow pa rin ako, true to its name, the resort is grand. I’ve been to a few Sheraton hotels or resorts and this is the biggest that I visited so far. If you are in Vietnam, you will notice that their hotel or resort rate is much cheaper compared to the Philippines rate.

Since we arrived late, the connecting room was no longer available so yung 2 reserved rooms namin, magkaiba ng floor; one room on the second floor and one room on the third floor so we ended up staying in one room.

After check-in, the staff ushered us to our room via golf cart so medyo malayo-layo rin ang lakad from our room to the lobby.

Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort Deluxe Rooms

This is the room on the second floor with a partial sea view.

This is the room on the third floor Deluxe Pool View King. The two rooms are pretty much the same, we have a king-sized bed and the bathroom has a separate shower, bathtub, and toilet.

Table 88 Restaurant

The room includes complimentary breakfast at Table 88 but since we stayed here for 5 days, I will share our breakfast meals in a separate post. I already blogged about our International Dinner Buffet at Table 88 before.

Since the weather was not good, we were too lazy to go out so we just ate at the hotel for lunch and dinner. (room service). There are few restaurants inside the hotel, there is La Plage, Table 88, Poolside, Tea Lounge, and The Grill

Things to do at Sheraton Grand Da Nang Resort

This resort is nestled on Non Nuoc Beach so you have a beach and pool. But during our stay, we were not able to swim on the beach because of the bad weather.

Sheraton Grand Da Nang is popular for its infinity pool because it is the longest pool in Da Nang about 250 meters long. Sa laki niya, pwede nga magkayak.

If you have kids in tow, there are classes that you can join like a cooking class, pizza-making class, lantern-making class, and others. There is a mini water park and playroom too.

Fitness, spa, and golf are also available but we did not visit.
