A few years ago, I discovered Printable Shrink Plastic but I don’t know where to buy the materials. Fast forward to six months ago, I purchased Printable Shrink Plastics from Bee Happy Crafts but forgot about it.
Then last week, I received a sample pack of shrink plastic so I decided to use it for my Bee Happy Weeklies 42. The theme is “Bloom” and I made a keychain using the images from the Wildflower Sublimation Bundle.
This was my first time doing this project so trial and error in estimating the size and shrinking the plastic. My first trial was printing the design and shrinking the plastic using my heat gun but all my projects only curled up so it went straight to the trash bin.
My second trial was printing the design and using our oven toaster to shrink the Printable Shrink White Plastic. Pero nasunog ko, nasobrahan yata sa heat.
So I tried again and hindi na nasunog.
And because of the successful result, I printed the design again using Printable Shrink Clear Plastic.
I was looking at my finished projects and to be honest, my favorite is yung nasunog ko kasi parang vintage look. hehehe!
I was happy with my finished project pero napapaisip ako kung magagamit ko pa ba yung oven toaster namin o need ko ng bumili ng bago. Waah!
I thought I was already done with my Halloween Craft Projects, but I saw these two designs, which looked so cute, so I cut and assembled them, even though I didn’t know where I would use them.
I already shared my birthday craft projects for my son’s birthday, like cake toppers, banner, and mini card album. And now, I’m sharing the remaining craft projects I made for the September and October celebrants.
90th Birthday Cake Topper
This cake topper is for my uncle who celebrated his 90th Birthday last month. To design this cake topper, I used two fonts; Aloha Chunky and Muthiara
86th Birthday Cake Topper
This cake topper is for my grandmother-in-law. I used two fonts for this cake topper; Balbek, and Muthiara.
Sweet Sixteen Cake Topper
I made a Superb Sixteen cake topper for my son. And I also made a Sweet Sixteen cake topper even though I don’t have a daughter, gusto ko kasi itry yung design na nasa isip ko. I used two fonts for this cake topper Amazing Teacherand Festive.
After a few days, my aunt messaged me because she likes this cake topper, magpapagawa daw siya. But I told her, na ibibigay ko na lang itong cake topper kasi wala din naman gagamit.
Abbey is 16
Ang laki ng age gap namin ng yougest cousin ko, ka-age lang ng anak ko. Naalala ko tuloy yung anak ng eldest cousin ko, ka-age ko naman. Anyway, my aunt only asked for a “Sweet Sixteen” cake topper but I made another one para more choices para sulit na rin yung shipping fee. This was the first time I shipped my cake toppers and I felt relieved that my cake toppers arrived in good condition. I used Samantha Craft font to design this cake topper.
Juliana is 15
The last cake topper I made is "Juliana is 15" using the Amazing Teacher Font. This font is a combination of Sans Serif and Script Font.
Fishing You a Happy Birthday
A birthday easel card for the October celebrant. The fish design is from Craft with Sarah’s website.
Gift Tags
I only need a few gift tags but I want to maximize my paper sheets so I made a lot. I used the following fonts.
I learned about Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory when they opened their first-ever cafe in the world and it is located in the Philippines. Since then I wanted to try their cookies, cheesecakes, or ice creams but as usual, their branches are too far from where I live so it took me years before I finally tried it.
We were in Ayala Malls Manila Bay last month when we attended myUncle’s 90th birthday at Cabalen Plus. On our way home, I found Cow Cow Kitchen Stall so finally, makakatikim na rin. It was hard to choose because I wanted to try everything but in the end, I bought the Cream Puff.
PHP690 per box of 7 pieces or PHP115 per piece. It is cheaper to buy one box but since I wanted to try other flavors too, I purchased 3 pieces of Rare Cheese Puff and 3 pieces of Salted Caramel Cream Puff.
When we arrived home, we ate the cream puff immediately kasi may sinabi yung staff na best to consume immediately. I first ate the Rare Cheese Puff pero nahirapan ako ubusin, parang nauumay na ko but my husband and son finished their two pieces of cream puff in one sitting.
Rare Cheese Puff - A soft choux pastry topped with a parmesan crust, filled with Nama Cream and the refreshing sourness of Cream Cheese
Salted Caramel Cream Puff - Indulge in a soft choux pastry topped with a parmesan crust, filled with cream, mascarpone, custard, and salted caramel.
Cheese Puff - A soft choux pastry topped with a parmesan crust, filled with luscious Hokkaido cream.
I saved my Slated Caramel Cream Puff in the chiller and told myself I would eat it the following day. After 3 days ko na yata naalala nung naghahanap ako ng makakain sa fridge. Hehehe! I tried the Salted Caramel Cream Puff and liked it better than the Rare Cheese Puff, walang umay. And kahit ilang days na rin sa fridge, masarap pa rin. I will try their other products including the Cheese Puff we haven't tried.
A few weeks ago, my friend called me for an impromptu meet-up but I declined the invitation because I couldn’t leave the house that day, wala kasi magrereceive ng online orders ko. I told her next time na lang so she set a new schedule.
So last week, natuloy na rin and we had breakfast at Ambos Panederia + Cocina. It was funny because we frequent Southwoods area but I had no idea na meron Ambos doon. I searched for it and as of this writing, there are only two branches, Laguna Belair and Southwoods. The third branch would be in Alabang Molito.
I checked their Facebook page and learned that they offer bread, pastries, donuts, cakes, pasta, sandwiches, rice meals, pizza, and drinks. Wala nga lang menu online so I just browsed food pictures at chinecheck ko kung ano ba oorderin ko.
Our scheduled meet-up is 7:30AM so just in time for the opening and breakfast but knowing me, 5:30AM pa lang nagbreakfast na kami sa house. So dahil busog pa ako, I just ordered bread and juice while my friend ordered porkchop and tapa meal.
Ang laki ng serving ng rice meal nila. I liked my cheesy garlic bread PHP75, masarap na and mura din compared sa Chee-Su na nabili ko dati. Four Seasons Canned Juice is PHP70.
We also noticed the 50% off sa ibang pastries and bread so I ordered the Ham and Cheese PHP65. Natetempt ako sa croissant pero hindi ako makapili ng flavor so next time na lang kung may 50% off ulit. Hehehe! I added a pack of ube cheese pandesal PHP145. We liked the ham and cheese but the ube cheese pandesal is just okay because ang gusto ko kasi na ube yung sa Good Shepherd.
Food and drinks are budget-friendly so I know this won’t be my last visit. The only thing na ayaw ko is pet-friendly sila. Hindi ako comfortable sa mga dogs kasi. But they are open for pick-up or online orders.
Hotel buffet is costly so I always look for deals, discounts, or promotions. For my son's 16th birthday, I searched different credit card promotions and there are hotel buffets I like to try kaso, hindi na pasok yung date sa celebration namin. Good thing, I checked The Westin Manila Facebook page and I saw their promotion.
I told my husband about this promo pero parang nagdadalawang isip siya because he already ate there and maliit lang yung restaurant ng The Westin Manila. I can’t blame him because he usually stays at The Westin Jakarta so sanay siya sa Seasonal Tastes buffet of The Westin Jakarta. In fact he just came from his Jakarta business trip tapos kinabukasan nasa Seasonal Tastes kami so buong linggo siya nagbuffet. :)
On the day of our food trip, my husband just booked using the link on the Facebook Page and also called to make sure. Buffet starts at 12NN so medyo late siya compared sa ibang hotel. We arrived 15 minutes before the opening hours but the staff already ushered us to our table and advised us na inform na lang kami kapag start na ng buffet.
My husband warned me na maliit lang yung restaurant and I agree, kung mahilig ka magmukbang, feeling ko matatry mo lahat ng food nila kasi hindi naman ganun karami. Although there are different stations, choices are limited. As far as I can remember, they have a Soup and Bread Station, Chinese and Noodles Station, Asian Delight Station, Chef’s Grilled Special Station, Pizza and Pasta Station, Japanese Station, Farm to Table Salad Bar, Charcuterie, Fruits Station, Plant-Based Station and Dessert Station.
The buffet rate includes one round of drinks, you can choose soda or juice. There is also a "One Dish Wonders" menu, so aside from the buffet spread you can order these dishes. Among the lists, we ordered Chicken Sisig Alfredo Pasta, Trio of Cheese Pizza, Grilled Beef Steak Chimichurri and Caramelized Banana Crepe. They did not check the pasta that they served, may eggshell pa na kasama.
We did not stay long and past 1PM, nag-ask na kami ng bill while eating our desserts.
Before going out of the restaurant para magpavalidate ng parking ticket, I saw the Complimentary Birthday Cake so I told my son na sayang may free cake pala. The staff heard me and asked kung may birthday celebrant ba and I said yes. She also asked kung nagsabi daw ba kami nung nagbooked? I said, I don’t know kasi si hubby nagpareserve.
Since pauwi na kami, the staff said itake-out ko na lang daw yung cake which we did. Pero yung mga birthday celebrants daw kasi kinakantahan pa nila. The cake tastes good pero parang hindi ko napansin sa buffet spread nila.
On our way home, I asked my husband kung nag-inform ba siya na may birthday celebrant nung nagbook siya and he said yes. Sa booking and nung tumawag siya. Hmm, so baka nakalimutan lang ng staff na ilista, wala kasi sa post it note nila.
Anyway, even though the buffet spread was limited, we still enjoyed our experience kasi kahit occupied yung lahat ng tables, hindi mo mafeel na crowded yung restaurant. Also, for PHP1,450 na rate, mas better ito kaysa sa Yurakuennamin last year.
Semestral Break is approaching and I need to plan for our upcoming vacation but my mind and body are into crafting. Waah! It seems na mas gusto ko na lang sa bahay kaysa magtravel, signs of aging na ba ito.
Bee Happy Weeklies' theme for this week is mental health. I researched it and discovered that there is Mental Health Awareness Month and World Mental Health Day.
Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed since May 1949 in the United States.
The theme for this year is “Where to Start”; “For anyone struggling with the pressure of today’s world, feeling alone, or wondering if they can feel better, this is Where to Start”
October 10 is World Mental Health Day and the theme is about Mental Health at Work. According to WHO, poor working environments - including discrimination and inequality, excessive workloads, low job control, and job insecurity - pose a risk to mental health.
I experienced excessive workloads when I was working, yung kahit holiday papasukin ka, wala naman bayad yun. Sa BPO naman, yung nakavacation leave ka tapos icacancel nila, sayang ang plane ticket ko. Parang bawal magholiday. Anyway, past is past.
For my Mental Health craft project, I planned to use Printable Iron-On Vinyl but I can’t decide which design I will use in the Groovy Mental Health Bundlethat I got. So in the end, I made stickers so I could use all the designs. Hehehe! I printed and then cut using a Glossy Sticker Sheet.
Just this morning, I found this quote on my Facebook Memories, 11 years ago na pero still very helpful.
"Sometimes it's easy to feel like you're the only one in the world who's struggling, who's frustrated, or unsatisfied, or barely getting by. That feeling is a lie. And if you just HOLD ON, just find the courage to face it all for another day. Someone or something will find you and make it all okay, because WE ALL NEED A LITTLE HELP sometimes, someone to help us hear the music in the world, to remind us that IT WON'T ALWAYS BE THIS WAY. That someone is out there and that someone will find you”
16th birthday is special in any child’s life because it is considered a transition from childhood to adulthood. It is a milestone so it is worth celebrating. We are not really into birthday parties so we had a mini celebration only.
This is the reason why I had limited time to blog because I was preparing for my son’s birthday. I made a banner, cake topper, and birthday mini album.
Cake Topper
For girls, they always say “Sweet Sixteen” but I had no idea about boys. While browsing Pinterest, I stumbled on “Superb Sixteen” so I used it for my cake topper. I made two cake toppers using Thinker and Brightfonts.
Giant Happy Birthday Banner
This Happy Birthday Banner has been on my list for a long time. I told myself that I would make it for my husband’s birthday and then for my birthday but it didn’t happen. Finally, I made it just in time for my son’s birthday.
This is the biggest project that I have done so far. It took me 2 hours of cutting and 3 hours of assembling the project. I was tired but happy. I plan to use this banner for our future birthdays.
Birthday Mini Album Card
Last June, I joined Card Making Countdownand there are two projects that I did not do because of limited time. But I knew that I would make the mini album card for my son’s birthday. I finished the mini album card in 3 days. Installment ko ginawa, first day yung card template, then yung box and last yung mga pictures and message na ilalagay ko.
Natagalan ako sa pictures because my son has thousands of pictures so imagine, I browsed his pictures since day one of his existence. I chose pictures, edited and printed them. I attached them to my card template. Buong araw ko talaga ginawa.
Even though it took me 3 days to finish the album, I felt satisfied after finishing my project and enjoyed looking at his pictures since birth. Kita ko talaga yung transition from babyhood to teenager. I miss those childhood days, iba na kasi kapag teenager na at may sarili na buhay.
Lunch at Seasonal Tastes of The Westin Manila
For the birthday celebration, we can really travel because my son has two days of asynchronous class but unfortunately, my husband has a business trip so we decided to have lunch buffet na lang. We looked for different credit card promotions but when we checked the date, hindi na naman aabot.
Good thing, I saw The Westin Manila promo of “50% off Lunch Buffet and Weekend Dinner Buffet from October 1 to 31, 2024” so I told my husband about it. My husband already ate there so he warned me na maliit lang daw restaurant ng The Westin Manila. But I said, okay lang kasi 50% off naman. Mas okay na yan kaysa sa Yurakuen natin last year. Hehehe!
After our lunch buffet, I invited my husband’s family to go to our house for merienda. I bought cake and my husband ordered pizza. My husband ordered the Triple Cheesy Pizza Craze for PHP1549. This package includes 12 inches of Pepperoni Pan Pizza, Triple Cheesy Burger Mega Crunch Pizza, and Hawaiian Supreme Stuffed Crust Pizza.
I did not eat kasi busog ako sa buffet pero naubos agad yung Triple Cheesy Burger Mega Crunch Pizza kasi masarap daw so nacurious tuloy ako so next time, bibili ulit ako para matry. I don't have picture of the pizzas, late kasi nadeliver.
