Check my updated post here. How to Book and Pay for your DFA Passport Appointment Online
Since last year I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about DFA Passport Appointment, people are having a hard time in getting a schedule and some people I knew even travel to province just to renew their passport. Three years ago, I did not have any problem when I set an appointment for our family and our experience at DFA NCR South (Alabang) was smooth too.
I just checked the DFA Passport Appointment site and reserved our preferred date, I even rescheduled it because I want to renew at DFA NCR South branch and I don’t want my two boys to be absent so I chose Saturday schedule. I don’t know what happens to DFA bakit pahirapan naman.
I was happy that our passport will expire on year 2020 pa so I have no problem. But I spoke too soon because my husband needs to renew his passport two years before the expiration. Last February, when I checked his passport, he only has four remaining pages so he needs to renew it as soon as possible before he runs out of pages.
Since March, I’ve been checking DFA Passport Appointment site so I can reserve an appointment for my husband, and unfortunately, I could not see any available date. I became one of those people who feel frustrated and hopeless, what if wala schedule hanggang June. Every day, I keep on checking the site, different times of the day.
Just this morning, while browsing Facebook, I saw a post that there are available slots daw so I immediately check DFA site and I was surprised when I saw available dates from April 16 to 30. I immediately messaged my husband the calendar so he can choose and napabangon ko bigla para magbook. He gave me his preferred date but when I’m about to book, nafull na agad ang schedule. Pabilisan lang talaga, I was happy that I was able to get an appointment. Finally, the search is over.
Update July 2018: I'm not sure if the steps are the still the same because now, DFA requires prepayment for passport applications. Click here to know more about DFA ePayment Portal.

I just had my passport renewed recently and didn't encounter problems in getting an appointment date. However, the branch I chose to go to didn't meet my expectation since my daughter was able to finish hers in less than 30mins. Mine took almost 4 hours so you can just imagine my picture (nakatayo na ang buhok ko sa stress). But from what I heard, you can check the appointment date daily because from time to time meron slot na nag-open.
ReplyDeleteYes, patience is a virtue. Every day check dapat at baka makasingit. I feel you, it happened to me when my son was one year old, more than two hours kami naghintay sa pagpapicture tapos sabi ng staff bumalik na lang kami kinabukasan kasi wala sa mood anak ko. Hello! What do you expect sa one year old, madali kunan ng picture. Hay, stress!
DeleteSo far, we didn't have problems scheduling 3x. I just had a problem when we got to the DFA office in ASEANA because they won't accept my ID. So I had to reschedule but went to Megamall branch instead kasi sobrang stressful yung girl sa ASEANA. Very unhelpful.
DeleteThis is a very helpful post. Not planning on renewing our passports anytime soon but I hope that when we do we won't encounter any difficulties. Will definitely bookmark this.
ReplyDeleteHi Good day po. Ask ko lang kukuhaan ko po kasi yung baby ko 1yr old ng passport pero ako po na parent wala pamg passport pwede po ba na sumabay ako sa baby ko? I accommodate po ba nila ako sa courtesy lane? Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne, yes, ang alam ko pwede +1 sa mga minor. Natry ng friend ko sumabay sa anak niya for renewal so I guess pwede din sa first time applicant as long as complete requirements niyo.
DeleteThis is the message that i receive. i haven't receive any confirmation code. Will it take days to receive it?

DeleteI heard a lot of stories about how difficult it is to renew passports these days. I hope they can fix that sooner for the convenience of the Filipino people. I might not have any valid reasons to renew my passport soon, but I sure will bookmark this page, just in case.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :)
For the provisional sched does it mean i have to pay first before confirming the booking?
