If last year we welcomed 2014 in Tagaytay, this year we decided to celebrate it at home. We started our New Year celebration at Ortigas Home Depot. I won Noche Buena Feast at Bierra Paluto so I claimed it yesterday. I will share my review on another post.
After our lunch, we dropped by at Contis for my son’s favorite chocolate cake. Buti may naabutan pa ko because I was still waiting outside and there were only 4 moist chocolate cakes left so I was praying na hindi yun ang order ng mga nauna sa kin. Lol.
Then we went home since I will only prepare food for three persons, I did not stress myself in preparing food. Our Media Noche foods were done in 1 hour, just in time for dinner. I prepared Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus, Steak, Mashed Potato and Cheesy Garlic Bread. I bought sparkling wine, grapes and cake. After dinner, I slept na and asked my husband to wake me up before 12AM.
That’s how we celebrate our New Year, I don’t have a tradition like 13 fruits or 13 dishes, I only prepare what are we going to eat para walang sayang na food. I think the only thing that we follow is wearing something green for wealth and long life? Stripes not polka dots para paper money and hindi coins.
I don’t want to waste money on fireworks so I only bought torotot and sparklers for my son. We’re just happy looking at the different fireworks display in the sky.
That’s it! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Sis!!! Cheers to 2015!
ReplyDeleteWe had a very simple New Year celebration too. We just bought some food for dinner. Then around 10pm we left to go to MOA to see the fireworks. Sometimes it's really nice to have a very chill celebration, diba? Happy new year!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is really nice to welcome New Year ng di stress. :)
DeleteWe don't do 12 fruits and other New Year's traditions either. Would love to know how you prepare the bacon wrapped asparagus. The last time I used Asparagus, it didn't go so well. I love them, but I just don't know how to prepare them. :/
ReplyDeleteIt is easy May, just cut your asparagus about 3 or 4 inches depending on your bacon size, drizzle with olive oil, season with pepper and salt according to taste. Wrapped the asparagus with bacon. (I cut the bacon in half para di makapal) Bake in preheated oven 400F for 12 minutes. :)
DeleteContis is also my fave! :-) happy new year to you and your family! :-)
ReplyDeleteOk naman celebration nyo:)
ReplyDeleteSarap din ng foods. Happy New Year:)
We also had a simple way of welcoming the New Year, we didn't go out and instead weclosed all doors andwindows to prevent any entry of smoke since we have allergies. We prayed, eat and watch a movie, Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! We actually don't do any of the traditions lol. XD
ReplyDeleteSame tayo. We try to celebrate the holidays as simply as we can and we (at least I) don't follow those superstitions. Happy New Year!
