Thank God for Pinterest because I found recipe for homemade play dough and my son started playing with his toy again. You can check the step by step here.
Inspite of the mess, there are several benefits of play dough like developing the fine motor skills, it enhance the imagination and creativity and it calm and soothe even adults. Honestly, I love playing play doh, I wanted to have this when I was a kid but no money for that.
If you remember my post last year, we had fun with clay modelling in Nuvali.
My son received a gift of clay set last Christmas and I bought this book last summer to entertain him.
Last week I printed this play dough mats from Pinterest. You can print it in regular paper and paste it in old folder or print it in cardboard paper to make it sturdy. You can laminate the paper but I just cover it with plastic cover. I've made homemade play dough again.

My son loves playing with clay, too. Thanks for the idea of the printed plate! I help him mold plates for his "food" so this would be really helpful :)
ReplyDeleteThe mats is a great idea! Both my kids can spend hours playing with play doh. We make our own play-doh too because the commercial ones are so expensive!
ReplyDeleteMy boys love playing with clay, too! My second child had a school activity before where they made clay from scratch. It was super fun for the him but after some time the clay became too moist and yucky hehe Maybe, we'll try the recipe on your link and make a better batch!
ReplyDeleteAfter making our own moonsand, my next project is homemade playdough, too! It's so exciting, and it's educational pa. I'm wary of using store-bought playdough and clay kasi because di ko alam anong ingredients.

ReplyDeleteMy kids love play Doh too. You can also let your son watch the youtube videos on how to make creative fun shapes using Play Doh. He will surely love it!

Deletemy kids love playing clay too! and it really is messy! nakakunsumi pag halo halo na ang color (opps! OCD attack haha) If my kids will see this, they would ask me again na ilabas na ang dough nila.. we do toy rotation eh, as of now, nasa building blocks sila :) pero sawa na daw sila at gusto na nila mag dough :)

DeleteMy son had a lot of different Play Doh sets when he was little. I honestly don't know what to do with them now that he's outgrown them. I can't bear to sell them or give them away just yet. It was fun while it lasted, tho hehe.
